A Prayer for Christmas Eve

Recommended Posts

Hear these thoughts of Christmas:  Psalm 118 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”  But EVERY day is a day that the Lord has made.  Tonight, however... tonight.... tonight is special.  This is the night when the choir of angels sang to the shepherds in the fields.  This is the night when Joseph and Mary could find nowhere in Bethlehem but a lowly stable where she might give birth.  This is the night when the promise was fulfilled.  This is the night when the Word became flesh.  This is the night when God came to earth to walk among us and learn of our lives and to lead us out of darkness and into the light.  This is the night when a little baby boy was born who would change everything.  This IS that special night. This is the NIGHT that the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it... and may God bless you all this night as you celebrate and contemplate that manifest, mysterious, magical, and marvelous event.  Merry Christmas!  Amen.
