The Biden administration has delivered the fastest economic recovery in American history

Recommended Posts

Yes, there are problems. Inflation’s at least a temporary problem. The delta variant’s spawned a whole new wave of new COVID-19 cases. Infighting among congressional Democrats has hobbled Biden’s efforts to pass his legislative agenda.  But here’s what the media is not telling you: The Biden administration has delivered the fastest economic recovery in American history. The unemployment rate is now at 4.2 percent. The number of Americans filing unemployment benefits for the first time fell last week to a 50-year low. A CNBC economic survey found that, despite inflation, Americans plan to spend 13 percent more this holiday season than last.

We'll know when the economy is good because the government won't have to keep raising the debt ceiling.

This country has never had a good economy without raising the debt ceiling.

The only time there has ever not been a deficit was after Andrew Jackson stole the lands from the Five Civilized Tribes and sent them off on the Trail of Tears and sold the land they had cleared to future slave plantation owners for $1.25 an acre.

Well that is one opinion. Quite a few others disagree.

With all due respect to the former VP, a mannequin could do just as well when coming out of one of the biggest economic "holes" in history.

What specific policies have supposedly helped the economy the most?

And that is where reparations should start, those families can keep their land but they need to pay the fair market value to the tribes or get off.

Well that is a thought.

Incidentally, the Black Wall Street prosperity in Tulsa in the early 1900's was the result of Black people having some capital to invest:  The  Feds ordered the Okalhoma Indians to free their slaves and pay them reparations.  And the Indians complied. That and the OK oil boom financed Black Wall Street.

@slideman is the biggest pusher of propaganda on this board.

The Democrats used  a pandemic  (from a bioweapon)  to smother  Trump's massive economic juggernaut, and then when they  release their boots off the  throat of capitalism  they want to be lauded for  giving us a shitstorm  of  inflation / shrinkflattion, collapsing currency and a supply chain disaster.

We need trials. Then  firing squads

Elton once again demonstrates that he is a delusional ideologue.

Totally without regard to the facts.

A lot of people simply retired, or left the work force and don't plan to return. That 4.2% isn't as simple as it used to be.

Plus, why would you give any administration credit for the economy? It was never going to stay that bad. Of course it was always going to rebound quickly. Trump wouldn't deserve any credit had he won the election, and neither does Biden.

Really?    Suggesting that having a government that doesn't have to pump 10% of GDP into the economy with debt spending is the sign of a weak economy?

It will build  and repair  roads and bridges, it will provide child care for parents , who can then work and be productive.

No one seems to realize that we piss away vastly more on useless weapons than public works, health  and education

What if those parents that are freed up with child care go to work building useless weapons?    Is that like an offset?

You enjoy asinine word games, don't you?

Most of US industry does not consist of manufacturing weapons.

Even if it did, there would be a multiplier effect, but a lesser one, since weapons produce nothing.

How many thousand Hummers  abandoned in Afghanistan are doing us any good?

Now, if the workers are building Caterpilers tractors and cement mixers, THAT is more productive.

You brought it up, so technically it's your word game.
