Homeowner Opens Fire On Burglars, Killing One, Second Suspect at Large...

Speaking to reporters, Smith said he took a few moments to assess the situation and calm his nerves before he “took action,” resulting in a 24-year-old suspected thief being shot dead during the attempted break-in.

“When everything first started, the first thing I had to do was take a few breaths and calm myself down because I knew it could have gone one of two ways.”

“I didn’t know who they were, I didn’t know what they had, but the first thing I did–and it’s the honest to God truth–is I took a few breaths to myself. That way I knew I was calm enough to make a proper judgment decision,”

Smith told Fox 13.

Relieved he survived the home invasion, Smith asserted his right to defend his family and his property, saying,

“It kind of goes back to your rights. I have the right to carry and I have the right to protect myself and I have the right to protect my property.”

Smith acknowledged it’s unfortunate the incident led to a loss of life, but said choosing between his life or the thief’s was an easy decision.

“We practice, but you never want to put it into action because it’s still a human life,”

he said.

“But my life is more important to me than theirs is, and me going home to my family and kids is more important than theirs is. I don’t know what they wanted out of this house. I don’t know what they were doing, but I don’t care.”

“Protect yourself. That doesn’t mean go looking for it, that means just be ready,”

he added...

"...This is how Americans should act, they should protect themselves."

Fuck Around and Find Out.

People should get a tax break for killing criminal.

You may be on to something.

Not only are there the direct LEO and court costs, but also the incarceration, w/ recidivism, to contend w/ as well.

A real boon for the taxpayer.

Armed Adult Americans - go through their daily lives, year after year... armed.

And, on occasion, they shoot some Fucked Around and Found Out Democrat National Socialist/Communist Malcontent and Entitlement Racist.

This one was in his home, uninvited, in the middle of the night.

ISLA VISTA, CA—In the days following a violent rampage in southern California in which a lone attacker killed seven individuals, including himself, and seriously injured over a dozen others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Tuesday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said North Carolina resident Samuel Wipper, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this guy from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what he really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past five years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”
