Just about right for a carry rig... if an all steel 1911-A1 is your thing.

MSRP $800/$849.

I like it.  I'm tempted; though I'd send it to Novak for some tweaking before carrying it...

It's pretty nice, for sure.

But I'll bet it still carries and shoots ~ like the $500 "MilSpec."

Would I have spent a coupla hundred extra on the "Garrison," had it been available...?

Definite maybe.

The front/rear Std. sight dovetails are a big plus.

What's the upgrade?  Finish or anything else.

My biggest problem with Springfields is they tend to be spotty in function out of the box.  I've seen the occasional one run fine brand new; but most need some attention from a qualified gunsmith before you can trust them 100%; but then that's true of most mid-range 1911's.

Parts.

- dovetail Novak-style sights

- enlarged L thumb safety

- beavertail/raised grip safety

- flat main spring housing

- skeleton trigger w/ travel stop

- thinner grip panels

Gucci stuff.
