Normally, the crime of treason is applied to damaging acts involving a foreign adversary.  Yet, the same, equally damaging actions committed by domestic politicians is somehow given an  okay, because it is passed off as part of the country’s governance.

There is, looming over the horizon, the matter of raising the debt ceiling for the U.S.  Not doing so would mean economic catastrophe for the country, because we would default on our debts, mostly incurred by the Republicans' and Trump’s tax cut.

The fact that this is all domestic business does not make it any less damaging to the USA.  The party that supposedly stands for economic health and prosperity is now intent on sabotaging the whole system, by allowing America to default.

And for what?  They do this for what they are as human beings: corrupt and self-serving to the last.  No compassion, no honor, no integrity, hoping voters will blame the Democrats for their actions.

I think it’s time everyone started to see the light shining on the Republican party.  They need to be voted out.  They need to be held accountable, as we so often hear today.

It’s not just selfish indulgence that needs to be considered.  Conservatives nowadays are intent on grabbing power for power’s sake.  For unyielding, authoritarian control of The Land of the Free.

We still have the opportunity to save America’s democracy and economic solvency, but time is running out.  The bad actors will be relentless and insidious in their pursuits.

You want to spend $5 Trillion.

YOU pass the debt ceiling bill.  You don't need a single Repulbican to do that.

Money over country mantra.  At the end of the day, it's the Democrats who care and are trying to do the right thing and the Republicans who will oppose anything not in their own self-interest.

Stop whining and pass the bill lifting the debt limit.

It's on you.  You control the House, Senate and Presidency and don't need a SINGLE Republican to vote with you.

They know they are going to lose the House and Senate, and they're even admitting it openly now.

Every Republican should be on board to raise the debt ceiling.  Instead, they are playing political games and tampering with the country's economy.

Why should they be involved in lifting the debt ceiling when you're party is trying to shove $3.5 trillion in NEW spending down their throats?

Republicans already joined with the $1.5t infrastructure bill.

You own the government.  Stop whining about Republicans.

If you want the debt ceiling lifted, you have complete control to do it.

You just want Republicans to vote with you, to give you political cover.

Nancy Pelosi said the$3.5 trillion bill would be paid for.  Personally, I don't know how, but I take the Speaker at her word.

You mean the producers... that will in turn raise taxes on the consumers... which coupled with rising inflation, will finish off what's left of the middle class that's standing after the "pandemic".

That's some good Nazi propaganda there dude.

The so-called producers are not in charge of raising taxes that would be the Congress.

No one is going to raise taxes on the middle and lower classes.

They're going to tax the idle rich.

Find the flaw in this logic if you can:

High taxes on money withdrawn from businesses cause the businesses to leave their money invested in the business causing economic growth.

We saw this during the '50s and 60s during which were periods of high taxation.

House Democrats’ Plan to Tax the Rich Leaves Vast Fortunes Unscathed  The House Ways and Means Committee’s proposal to pay for trillions in social spending leaves wealth gains and inheritances largely alone. It focuses instead on a more traditional target: income.

When has Pelosi EVER paid for a bill she put forward?

If you take ANY politician at their word, you're either naive or just a political hack who's repeat anything they are told.

They don't even have the bill written, don't know what it's going to cost, nor what is going to be in it.

You know, pass it to find out what's in it... again.

Pelosi cost you the House when she rammed Obamacare through without Republican support, and she's repeating that mistake now.

You're not going to get any help passing that bill.
