I just find it amazing that people actually think we need to invest 10-20% of our GDP into "crumbling infrastructure" and the best example they can give from personal experience is potholes.  The enti

Paved roads is one thing. however, when it comes to dirt I think it is a bit odd to complain about potholes because most are not maintained. Even if they are, most not in dependable fashion. We would take some roads south of Missoula, MT that probably should not have been called a road. Only the most dedicated took these ways.

I saw a special on the History Channel. All of our bridges are on the brink of falling down.

Well in reality how many bridges have you seen falling down?

You waited four years for trump's "Infrastructure Week", which never happened.

Now Joe Biden is addressing it. Do you support the GOP's total opposition to it?

I would let them spend the 10% dedicated to "infrastructure" but not a dime for the rest of their idiotic proposal.

What state, most of the bridges here the state maintains and they are pretty good at keeping them up. The highways are very well maintained. Now in the cities things are a bit different.

I've seen it in almost every state.

Here anyway the county maintains county roads, the city supposedly maintains their roads and the Feds are supposed to maintain the highways. Texas does a lot of it's own highway work because the Feds are always behind, often funding mega highway projects by making them toll roads for a while. I am very suspicious about the phony infrastructure bills because most of it is funded locally. The gas Tax is supposed to fund the highways already.

That isn't necessarily a sign of any imminent danger.

That is not America.

Why don't they fix them with the ungodly amount of money they get from the gas tax?

Not sure what motivated those reports !

And I'm not an engineer  . . .

But this kind of viaduct can stand a a chunk or two  . . .  or three falling off due to wear and tear over the course of a few decades:
