Jimmy Carter was the most efficient president with regard to spending. Clinton also was better than average.

 

Two reasons that politicians do not really want to cut spending. First, there are often legal hurdles to taking away funding from depts. and laying off govt workers. The legal battles are costly. Second, the voting public likes to know that you are re-distributing funds to them. The key item is "re-", to redistribute you have to have it in the first place and that demands tax revenues or ability to print money.

Or sell treasuries.   That's kind of been the missing component to government funding for about 15 years.

Apparently, omitting the word 'more' in a speech is proof we are in the end times.

Because everyone else in the world always says exactly what they mean to say at all times, especially in front of the media.

 

I think I'm going to have to change my vote.
Anything is better than a president who forgets to say 'more'.
