1. With a loaded magazine in the firearm and the grip safety depressed, releasing the slide (by pulling it back, or releasing the slide stop), may ignite the round as the slide closes, without engaging the trigger.  The condition may occur, regardless of the manual thumb safety position if equipped.  This may also result in multiple discharges.
    

2. With a loaded magazine in the firearm, the grip safety depressed, manual safety in the fire position, slide closed, and a round in the chamber, pulling the trigger will cause the round to fire normally, however as the slide cycles, the next round may be ignited as it is chambered by the hammer failing to fully engage the sear, causing multiple discharges.

I am more of a Glock, Sig, HK, Beretta guy.

This one, however, had to cut some corners to get the slide-rack and mag spring wt. down.

 

Hence the grip safety.

I owned a original M&P and didn't keep it long.

 

Friend has the 2.0 and he likes it.

 

I tend to get a bad experience and write off the brand.

 

I wont own a Remington rifle, or a Mossberg shotgun either.

I used to carry the Sig P938 because it was so easy to conceal, but changed to the G19 for capacity.

 

Sometimes I do use my S&W 642 as a pocket gun, if I dont want to have a holster on.

Think the GLOCK G36 slimline .45 ACP is the top of the mark for a IWB/CC pistol.

 

The Sig P938 9mm makes for a good micro - for trunks and tuxedos.

There has been such a massive spike in gun sales that many manufacturers are seriously understaffed. Smith and Wesson actually makes very good guns. But with the recent pressure for a small number of people to get a lot of product out I am not surprised that there are errors.

 I bought one in the summer.  I love it.  Both my wife and I have arthritis and while I can rack the slide on hand guns she can’t.  With the 380 EZ she can with no problem.  I went to the link and only firearms manufactured fro March to October are affected.  Plus it is a small amount.  Mine was manufactured in April BUT I plugged in the serial number and it is not affected.
