WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?

Recommended Posts

For me, some things are ...

  • My kids and grand-kids are healthy
  • I have food, shelter and a few bucks in the bank
  • I dont have the Kung Flu
  • I am not a drunk drug addict, like many on this board
  • You can still buy a brand new DeLorean in the United States
  • There are very few gun laws in Texas
  • There is a lot of stuff to shoot in Texas
  • Michael Jackson is dead
  • Journey has a singer that sounds just like Steve Perry
  • Jaime Johnson is not incarcerated, and making music
  • ZZ Top is still alive and well as a coillective
  • AC/DC has a new album
  • Harley still makes full size motorcycles for real men
  • Football is on TV several times a week
  • Chubby chicks are easy
  • Popeye's ... just fucking Popeye's
  • Mesquite wood is easy to find, and cheap
  • People still kill cows and eat them. If I were going to hunt ... I would hunt cows ... much easier and taste better
  • German Shepherd dogs
  • The instability of temporal things

Being old enough to see the greatest rock bands of the 70's ...

Have you had a chance to do the incline in Manitou Springs?

Having to earn your way through life is the only way...

Growing up with the North Stars would qualify, but the Wild? footnote material...

You know what chubby chicks and mini bikes have in common?

they're both fun to ride, but you don't want to be seen on one...

I'm thankful that many of our elections officials have the integrity and the guts to withstand Trump's fake onslaught of accusations of voter fraud.

Bet they'd fold like a duck during hunting season if there wasn't money involved...

No but that should be on the bucket list for peaks to climb. Done all of my climbing in Idaho,  Nevada, and eastern California.

1) for 2 boys who grew up to be decent men who married strong women raising fine (albeit whiny) grandchildren...

2) having the knowledge/wisdom to help those in need...

3) living on a small lake with 7 acres for 31 years building it into our place with zero debt...

4) being able to be the "ranch hand" still doing everything needed...building, repairing, fabricating, mechanical, etc...

5) Otis our 3yo Saint Bernard who warmed me up to liking dogs after putting up with many while not caring about them...

6) Louie the German Shepherd who only acts like he likes me when Ma is around, otw, we're like ships in the night...

7) Electric Blues is my go to for music, but open to many different genre excluding rap, country and most pop...

😎 anything with an engine...

9) fireworks from WI...illegal, but a shitload of fun...

10) beautiful women...

11) authentic friends

12) technology (albeit a double edged sword)

13) spirituality

14) being a borderline obsessive compulsive perfectionist...tough on the climb, but rewarding at the finish...

Cool...been at the bottom, but hadn't been in the altitude long enough to be acclimated or physical shape...

Just watched a documentary on history, climber interviews and clubs... Greg Cummings achieved 1,720 runs up the incline in one year to match runs to height in feet...averaging 5 runs every day taking 1 hr per run...he said it was a struggle during the week working 9 hr days...what an animal...
