The world as we know it has changed dramatically over the last few weeks in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Countries are on lockdown, there are shelter-in-place orders, nonessential businesses have been ordered to close, and people have been mandated to quarantine.

Here at home, the coronavirus has been a testament to American resilience. People everywhere are working to flatten the curve together (by keeping their distance and staying inside) and to ensure those who are most vulnerable are taken care of.

In such uncertain times, Americans can only hope that the media would follow suit and put aside partisan politics in the face of a global pandemic. Sadly, some journalists and fake news outlets can’t help themselves.

The media distorts and misleads, takes statements out of context, treats assumptions as facts, and in general, seems to want to sow as much rancor and fear as possible. This is irresponsible journalism in a time when the nation needs just the opposite.

President Trump is their favorite target, as these examples show.

• February 28, 2020: Politico published a piece entitled, “Trump rallies his base to treat coronavirus as a ‘hoax.’” Many in the media and Democratic Party echoed this fake news. Trump was in fact calling the criticisms of his administration’s response to the coronavirus the Democrats’ new hoax. 

• March 5, 2020: CBS News posted a story falsely claiming President Trump told sick people to go to work. If you read the actual quote, he is talking about healthy people going about their business not knowing that they have the virus: “So if, you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better.”

• March 12, 2020: An Atlantic staff writer upheld the lie that China was “sending aid” to Italy out of goodwill, despite it being disproven by The Washington Post. The shipments in question were exports that had been purchased by Italy and other receiving countries.

• March 12, 2020: NBC , NPR , Newsweek , Joe Biden, CNN, and Esquire falsely claimed that President Trump blocked coronavirus testing and rejected WHO coronavirus test kits because lower numbers are good for his re-election. 

• March 13, 2020: The stock market soared and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at a record increase after President Trump and his coronavirus task force held a press conference on the government’s response. CNN had only criticisms of the administration’s response with no mention of the stock market gains, according to The Federalist. 

• March 13, 2020: The Washington Post published an opinion piece that falsely claimed that President Trump closed the White House Pandemic Office. The Washington Post later released an article that fact checked the initial claims from the opinion piece.

• March 15, 2020. The Atlantic published a piece, "The Coronavirus Called America's Bluff," that attempted to assert the Trump administration is just as bad as China's Communist Party in its handling of the coronavirus. Keep in mind that China silenced doctors and journalists and lied to the WHO to keep the pandemic under wraps.

• March 16, 2020: The Daily Beast took a cheap shot at the president, but worse, it misled Americans when it headlined a story, “President Trump told several governors that they are largely on their own in stocking up on gear such as respirators and ventilators to fight the novel coronavirus.” Other outlets then echoed the phony report. The president actually said, “We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves. Point of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself.”

• March 16, 2020: CNN falsely claimed that the Trump administration is considering imposing a national curfew. 

• March 16, 2020: Reuters, The Guardian, Business Insider, and staffers at the New York Times and MSNBC falsely claim that Trump wants to monopolize a coronavirus vaccine.  

• March 17, 2020: In a tweet, MSNBC analyst Glenn Kirschner suggests Donald Trump is guilty of negligent homicide “for the way he’s mishandled the Coronavirus crisis.”

• March 17, 2020: A doctored tweet suggesting that President Trump would withhold federal aid from his critics circulates on Twitter and Instagram, which FactCheck.org debunked. 

• March 18, 2020: A Washington Post columnist falsely accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of delaying the House’s vote on the coronavirus bill. (To its credit, the paper later ran a correction at the top of the column.)

• March 18, 2020: Rick Wilson tweets “#BeInfected” in response to a story about First Lady Melania Trump appearing in public health PSA’s on the coronavirus, which he later said was a joke, deriding the First Lady’s #BeBest campaign.

• March 19, 2020: NBC News published a story entitled, “Italy has a world class health system. The coronavirus has pushed it to the breaking point.” Despite NBC’s best efforts to fear monger, a quick Google search tells us that Johns Hopkins ranks Italy’s system, in relation to treating the sick and protecting health care workers, as number 54 in the world.

• March 20, 2020: The Daily Mail criticized Trump for calling the coronavirus the Chinese virus, dubbing it racist when the outlet itself used the term just two short months ago because the virus did, indeed, originate in China. 

• March 20, 2020: CNN published a story entitled, “Yes, Of Course Donald Trump Is Calling Coronavirus The 'China Virus' For Political Reasons”.

• March 20, 2020: The Atlantic published a piece blaming President Trump’s personality for the coronavirus outbreak.

• March 22, 2020: The New York Times changed a headline from, “Democrats Block Action on $1.8 Trillion Stimulus” to one that blames “partisan divide.” 

• March 23, 2020: Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough tweeted: “There is no public benefit to this briefing. The networks should all cut away.” This tweet came despite recent polling that shows the majority of Americans approve of President Trump’s response to the coronavirus and disapprove of the media’s coverage.

• March 23, 2020: A tabloid run by the Communist Party of China posted a video that contained footage of American media outlets and politicians repeating China’s talking points to portray China’s response to the coronavirus as favorable. 

• March 23, 2020: An NBC Reporter insinuated that President Trump is responsible for the death of a man who consumed fish tank cleaner. You must read further into her thread to get the crucial fact — that what the man consumed was a parasite treatment for fish, not the medical form of Chloroquine that President Trump has discussed. It’s worth noting the salacious tweet alleging President Trump’s responsibility in this received over 34k retweets, while the final tweet in the thread specifying that the toxic ingredient consumed by the man was not actually the medical form of the drug in question got fewer than 3k retweets. 

• March 24, 2020: MSNBC host Rachel Maddow tweeted that cable news networks should stop covering the President’s coronavirus briefings, propagating that the President is amplifying misinformation. Seattle NPR announced they will stop airing the President’s coronavirus briefings. Coincidentally, networks are wanting to cut coverage of these briefings as President Trump’s approval rating hits its highest level since 2017.

• March 26, 2020: Vox published a story “Trump’s reckless promotion of hydroxychloroquine to fight coronavirus, explained”. Vox failed to mention that when Anthony Fauci was asked if he would prescribe hydroxychloroquine he said "Yeah, of course, particularly if people have no other option. These drugs are approved drugs for other reasons." 

 In January of this year, the Trump administration took definitive action to slow the spread of the contagion by placing travel restrictions on China. The administration received harsh criticism in the press for this decision; Politico even wrote a story citing public health experts who feared that the Trump administration’s aggressive response could backfire.

Since then, the Trump administration has declared a national emergency, allowing states to access over $42 billion in existing funding. President Trump signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, ensuring that American families and businesses impacted by the virus receive the support that they need. President Trump has expanded testing accessibility, is supporting American families, workers, and small businesses with aid and other programs. The president is taking all necessary measures and cutting red tape to support patients and health care providers while working to replenish essential medical supplies and promote the development of a vaccine. 

While President Trump and his team are working together to bring hope, safety, financial relief, and a vaccine to Americans, the press has been busy promoting its own politicized narrative of the coronavirus. Sadly for the media, the majority of Americans approve of President Trump’s response to the coronavirus. The daily efforts by the administration to inform the public of developments have toppled the sensational, politicized narrative of the press. This is a perfect example of how strong executive  leadership can ease the fear of a nation in times of crisis. Another job well done, President Trump.

COVID-19 Lies Go Viral

Beware of three widely circulating COVID-19-related lies and the partisan motives behind them. These lies are dangerous to your children and how you cope with this virus.

Lie No. 1: "The United States' response stands out as among the worst of any country." House Majority Whip James Clyburn leveled that charge, as he kicked off a hearing Friday into the virus.

 

Don't buy it. A staggering 183,639 Europeans have died from the virus as of Monday. Deaths per capita have been far higher in the U.K., Spain and Italy than in the U.S., according to Johns Hopkins. After a lull, cases are spiking in several European countries.

That hasn't stopped New York Times columnist Paul Krugman from asking, "Why Can't Trump's America be like Italy?" Is he crazy? A patient with the coronavirus has faced three times the risk of dying from it in Italy as in the U.S., Johns Hopkins data indicate.

Lie No. 2: Clyburn accused the administration of "rushing into reopening the schools" against the " advice of public health experts." Sorry, but experts want schools to reopen.

 

 

At the hearing, expert witnesses Anthony Fauci from the National Institutes of Health and Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were emphatic. Redfield itemized the dangers -- delayed learning, social isolation, undetected child abuse and even adolescent suicide -- from school closings. And he called attention to his agency's blueprint for reopening schools safely, down to how to space the desks and handle lunchtime.

The CDC reports that COVID-19 poses a smaller risk to children than ordinary flu, for which schools never close. And children under age 10 are unlikely to infect family members, based on data from Switzerland, Iceland, and South Korea.

The American Academy of Pediatricians and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine are urging that at least grades K-5 reopen. These are where remote learning is the least feasible and infecting family members is unlikely.

Contrary to this science, the Democratic Party and teachers' unions are demanding schools stay closed. They're holding kids and parents hostage to defeat Trump in November. And, of course, get paid for staying home.

 

A New Zealand study found that infected students didn't infect their teachers. Yet, New York City teachers are taking to the streets, marching with coffins and skeletons. They're frauds.

Transit workers, cops and firefighters and showing up for work -- despite the real dangers they confront.

On "Face the Nation" this Sunday, Clyburn shamelessly repeated his false claim that schools can't reopen because the administration doesn't have a safety plan. Here's the plan. Check it out. 

 

 

 

Lie No. 3: Clyburn accused the Trump administration of having no "comprehensive national strategy" to combat the virus.

The truth is, since March, these agencies have produced thousands of pages of detailed action plans. I've read them. You might disagree with some details, as I do, but to insist there's no plan is preposterous.

Yet, that's the Democrats' playbook. No surprise, The New York Times parroting it, claiming in a July 30 editorial there's been an absence of "coherent approach " for months.

At Friday's hearing, Fauci laid out the administration's vaccine strategy, optimistically predicting a safe, effective vaccine before the end of 2020. Redfield ranged over plans for workplaces, schools, nursing homes and child care centers.

Despite the virus surging in many states, Redfield testified that if Americans "wholeheartedly embrace five measures" -- masks, hand hygiene, social distancing, avoiding crowds and protecting the elderly "we can get this virus under control," without shutdowns. That's an important message.

Finally, look out for a fourth lie being concocted now -- that the administration is cutting corners on safety to deliver a vaccine before the election. Fauci assured Congress several times it's not true. But The New York Times, tapping into anti-vaxxer energy, published a news story Monday implying as much, without evidence, just innuendo and mostly anonymous sources. That lie could dissuade people from getting vaccinated and cost many lives. It's the most dangerous of all.

If you weren't convinced that Democrats are crazy, insane and a danger to us all, I now have clear and irrefutable proof.

 

It's hydroxychloroquine.

That's the anti-malaria drug that has become a weapon in our arsenal to defeat coronavirus. The stories of its remarkable success in the battle versus this terrible, deadly pandemic are everywhere. They are no longer "anecdotal." This Trump-touted drug appears to be a miracle drug.

I'll get to all those stories in a moment. But first let me mention the latest Rasmussen poll, which shows that only 18 percent of Democrats would take hydroxychloroquine if they were sick with coronavirus.

 

Folks, that's just nuts. Democrats are suicidal. They not only don't value human life; they don't even value their own lives.

And I'm not just talking about run-of-the-mill crazy liberal voters or activists. Democratic leaders are just as reckless, dangerous, ignorant and delusional. Michigan's Democratic governor, Gretchen Whitmer, initially banned the drug for use against coronavirus. My own Nevada governor, Democrat Steve Sisolak, banned any non-hospital or emergency room doctors from prescribing it -- even though the doctors that use it regularly consider it safe and report it works best when used in the early stages of coronavirus, before a victim lands in the ER or ICU.

And don't forget, that's the whole point of this hysterical, reckless shutdown of the U.S. economy -- to stop this illness before it sends victims to the ER or ICU. Don't we want to "flatten the curve"?

 

 

So why would leading Democratic politicians ban it or refuse to recognize its success? There's only one answer: Trump derangement syndrome.

President Donald Trump was the first to tout this miracle drug. He has urged doctors to use it on victims since the earliest days of the pandemic. That was all it took for Democrats to despise this lifesaving drug; run away from it like the plague; refuse to educate the public about it via the liberal media; and, in extreme cases, actually ban it.

You know what you call that? Crazy, insane and dangerous. Democrats would rather let Americans die than give Trump a chance to take credit. Some might call that murder, or, certainly, manslaughter.

Now to the stories. I can't fit them all. But here are a handful.

A month ago, New York Dr. Vladimir Zelenko was a guest on my national radio show. He had treated 670 coronavirus victims with a combination protocol of hydroxychloroquine, Z-Pak and zinc. Only one was hospitalized. He urged every doctor and hospital to prescribe it at the earliest onset of coronavirus.

Zalenko returned as a guest on Friday to give an update to my national radio audience. He has now treated 1,450 coronavirus victims. Only two have died (and one of them had cancer). He reports few major side effects. He calls the drug "safer than Motrin." But it should be given, he says, at the earliest sign of coronavirus.

 

My personal radio agent, John McConnell, was hours away from death. He said goodbye to his wife. He was in the ICU about to be put on a ventilator when Sean Hannity and Dr. Mehmet Oz saved his life. Hannity urged Oz to call McConnell's doctor and intervene. Oz convinced the doctor to use hydroxychloroquine. McConnell is now thankfully out of the hospital and on the mend.

My friend and frequent radio guest Joey Gilbert, former boxing champion, came on my show this week to report both his parents were dying of coronavirus when hydroxychloroquine saved their lives. They both made a full recovery.

The media this week reported that a Las Vegas couple in their 80s were knocking on death's door and then made a full recovery because of hydroxychloroquine. And how a Los Angeles M.D. who prescribes the drug in combination with zinc has seen a 100 percent success rate: Dr. Anthony Cardillo, CEO of Mend Urgent Care, says, "Every patient I've prescribed Hydroxychloroquine to, has been very, very ill and within 8 to 12 hours, they were basically symptom-free."

It's happening across the world. Studies in France and China report on the remarkable success of hydroxychloroquine in combatting coronavirus.

 

The Las Vegas Review-Journal last week reported that University Medical Center became the first Las Vegas-area hospital to prescribe hydroxychloroquine to high-risk outpatients. They prescribe it and then send the patients home. The results have been remarkable. Dr. Thomas Zyniewicz said, "Our outcomes in our ICU patients to date are better than outcomes we're seeing from Italy, China, France and other countries."

So why are so many victims still dying? Why isn't this drug being given to every coronavirus victim across America? Why are there still doctors who don't know about it?

Why do only 18 percent of Democrats say they would use this drug if they were sick? Eighteen percent!

Why is our economy still shut down? Why are we ruining the lives of millions of business owners and their employees while waiting for a vaccine that may never come, or prove ineffective, or even prove dangerous when we already have a safe, effective treatment that has saved thousands of lives? And it can be dirt cheap -- about $20 per treatment.

 

We already have an effective treatment. It's time to reopen the economy. Why are Democrats in denial?

There is no reason for this irrational fear of coronavirus, not when about 90 percent of those infected either get it in very mild form or don't even know they had it; not when 98 percent of those infected recover; not when many of us have already developed so-called herd immunity; and not when those who are left -- the elderly, the sick, the immunocompromised -- could simply take this miracle drug at the first sign of illness.

Why is anyone still scared? The answer can only be one thing: Trump derangement syndrome. Trump touted the drug first, so Democrats and their allies in the media hate it, ignore it or deny its remarkable success: proof positive Democrats are crazy, insane and a danger to us all.

Democrats Willing To Kill 90,000 COVID Patients To Discredit Trump

 

The number of patients who have died from the COVID-19 virus will have topped 175,000 by the time you read this. A vaccine is at least a year away. So far, the only treatment approved by the FDA and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and

 

Infectious Diseases, is Remdesivir, which does nothing but slightly reduce the length of suffering and does not save lives.

Meanwhile, Fauci and the FDA are preventing doctors from using a treatment that shows the potential to reduce deaths by 50%. There is good evidence that 90,000 people died because Fauci and others questioned the studies that claim to prove the treatment works.

That treatment is the infamous Hydroxychloroquine, which often goes by the initials HCQ. Norman Doidge, a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and author of The Brain That Changes Itself and The Brain’s Way of Healing, details the history of the use of HCQ against the virus and the debates over the studies in “Hydroxychloroquine: A Morality Tale.” According to the best studies, HCQ could cut the virus’ ability to kill in half. Yet, Fauci and the FDA have decided to block its use and fine or imprison any doctor who gives it to a patient. And he is doing the same thing with another widely used treatment, plasma from patients who have recovered from the virus, which is championed by the Mayo Clinic.

Fauci’s has one beef with studies showing the effectiveness of HCQ and plasma: they haven’t gone through randomized controlled trials (RTCs). For Democrats, an RCT means the researchers give one group of patients the treatment thought to be effective and lie to the other group, telling them they got it but didn’t. They call the deceived the placebo group. RTCs are the gold standard of medicine, but they have problems of their own. They’re expensive and time-consuming. COVID-19 victims lack both. And it usually takes several RCTs over multiple years to please everyone in the medical field.

In addition, RCTs are not the gold standard Fauci proclaims. The Journal of the American Medical Association reported in 2014 that 35% of the results of RCTs could not be replicated. That means they were junk science.

Some doctors think RCTs are immoral. Dr. Didier Raoult, from l’Institut hospitalo-universitaire in France, introduced the West to HCQ with azithromycin as a treatment for COVID-19 in its early days. Raoult is the most highly cited microbiologist in Europe. He has published over 2,000 papers. He has been given the French Legion d’honneur.

And he refuses to conduct RCTs. He said, “We’re not going to tell someone, ‘Listen, today’s not your lucky day, you’re getting the placebo, you’re going to be dying.’” Dr. Doidge wrote,

 

“The randomization conflict almost always exists in serious illness, because we don’t generally study treatments on dying people that we think have no chance of working. Any clinician-researcher deserving the name knows that being a researcher does not cancel out the clinician’s Hippocratic oath to do no harm, or give them permission not to do what is best for the patient."

So here we are in the middle of one of the worst medical catastrophes in recent world history. People are dying by the thousands every day. What is Fauci’s response? He demands that doctors allow patients to continue to die until several years later when we have had enough lengthy RCTs to prove conclusively that the treatments work.

Meanwhile, Fauci promotes hand washing, masks (after first telling us they did no good) and ventilators, none of which have passed through the hallowed halls of RCTs. Eighty percent of patients put on ventilators die, but Fauci doesn’t demand that doctors quit using them. And the drug he promotes, Remdesivir, will do nothing but shorten the length of the illness by so little that most people won’t notice.

 

The studies showing HCQ and plasma to be effective are known as observational studies. In those, some doctors give the treatment to their patients while other doctors don’t for their own reasons. Researchers analyze the data using statistical techniques to control for other factors that may affect the results, such as age, weight, severity of the illness, how early the treatment began, and others. Economists use the same techniques in econometrics because they can’t do RCTs either. Then they compare results. Doidge wrote,

“Raoult opted for observational studies, in which as many patients as possible are treated. This is not a matter of choosing a design that is ‘fatally flawed,’ it is a matter of choosing a design that is not unnecessarily fatal to the patients. It’s is not sloppiness (as some of his critics would allege), but being true to the study question as he saw it: How can we save as many lives as possible…

“A lot of people have gone crazy,” says Raoult, “claiming that we were dealing with the most dangerous drug in the world, when almost 2 billion people have already taken it.” HCQ, he points out, has been given safely for decades, even to pregnant women, but is being made to look dangerous. […] “It is bizarre, but it is part of something, you know, that people are completely turned mad about one of the medics [sic] that have been most prescribed medications in the history of humanity.”"

 

What about the studies in Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine that claimed HCQ caused cardiac arrhythmias and a 30% increase in deaths in COVID-19 patients? The mainstream media trumpeted those stories. But those same media outlets refused to run a story a month later when both journals pulled the articles and accused the authors of fraud. Two of the best medical journals in the US were suckers for unsophisticated con men.

In the middle of an emergency, it’s criminal to withhold from dying people the only treatments that have shown some success in preventing death. There is a problem with HCQ: it’s in short supply because every country in the world but the US is giving it to their people. Dr. Fauci has nothing to offer.

Dr. Fauci isn’t stupid, so what motivates him? Dr. Doidge believes it’s politics:

“We live in a culture that has uncritically accepted that every domain of life is political, and that even things we think are not political are so, that all human enterprises are merely power struggles, that even the idea of “truth” is a fantasy, and really a matter of imposing one’s view on others. For a while, some held out hope that science remained an exception to this. That scientists would not bring their personal political biases into their science, and they would not be mobbed if what they said was unwelcome to one faction or another. But the sordid 2020 drama of hydroxychloroquine—which saw scientists routinely attacked for critically evaluating evidence and coming to politically inconvenient conclusions—has, for many, killed those hopes.”

Not to mention, killing people. Apparently, Fauci and the Democrat experts who support him would rather watch 90,000 people in the US die than give any credibility to President Trump in an election year. And the Democrat-controlled media and politicians support him.

The number of patients who have died from the COVID-19 virus will have topped 175,000 by the time you read this. A vaccine is at least a year away. So far, the only treatment approved by the FDA and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and

That treatment is the infamous Hydroxychloroquine, which often goes by the initials HCQ. Norman Doidge, a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and author of The Brain That Changes Itself and The Brain’s Way of Healing, details the history of the use of HCQ against the virus and the debates over the studies in “Hydroxychloroquine: A Morality Tale.” According to the best studies, HCQ could cut the virus’ ability to kill in half. Yet, Fauci and the FDA have decided to block its use and fine or imprison any doctor who gives it to a patient. And he is doing the same thing with another widely used treatment, plasma from patients who have recovered from the virus, which is championed by the Mayo Clinic.

Fauci’s has one beef with studies showing the effectiveness of HCQ and plasma: they haven’t gone through randomized controlled trials (RTCs). For Democrats, an RCT means the researchers give one group of patients the treatment thought to be effective and lie to the other group, telling them they got it but didn’t. They call the deceived the placebo group. RTCs are the gold standard of medicine, but they have problems of their own. They’re expensive and time-consuming. COVID-19 victims lack both. And it usually takes several RCTs over multiple years to please everyone in the medical field.

In addition, RCTs are not the gold standard Fauci proclaims. The Journal of the American Medical Association reported in 2014 that 35% of the results of RCTs could not be replicated. That means they were junk science.

Some doctors think RCTs are immoral. Dr. Didier Raoult, from l’Institut hospitalo-universitaire in France, introduced the West to HCQ with azithromycin as a treatment for COVID-19 in its early days. Raoult is the most highly cited microbiologist in Europe. He has published over 2,000 papers. He has been given the French Legion d’honneur.

And he refuses to conduct RCTs. He said, “We’re not going to tell someone, ‘Listen, today’s not your lucky day, you’re getting the placebo, you’re going to be dying.’” Dr. Doidge wrote,

 

“The randomization conflict almost always exists in serious illness, because we don’t generally study treatments on dying people that we think have no chance of working. Any clinician-researcher deserving the name knows that being a researcher does not cancel out the clinician’s Hippocratic oath to do no harm, or give them permission not to do what is best for the patient."

So here we are in the middle of one of the worst medical catastrophes in recent world history. People are dying by the thousands every day. What is Fauci’s response? He demands that doctors allow patients to continue to die until several years later when we have had enough lengthy RCTs to prove conclusively that the treatments work.

Meanwhile, Fauci promotes hand washing, masks (after first telling us they did no good) and ventilators, none of which have passed through the hallowed halls of RCTs. Eighty percent of patients put on ventilators die, but Fauci doesn’t demand that doctors quit using them. And the drug he promotes, Remdesivir, will do nothing but shorten the length of the illness by so little that most people won’t notice.

 

The studies showing HCQ and plasma to be effective are known as observational studies. In those, some doctors give the treatment to their patients while other doctors don’t for their own reasons. Researchers analyze the data using statistical techniques to control for other factors that may affect the results, such as age, weight, severity of the illness, how early the treatment began, and others. Economists use the same techniques in econometrics because they can’t do RCTs either. Then they compare results. Doidge wrote,

“Raoult opted for observational studies, in which as many patients as possible are treated. This is not a matter of choosing a design that is ‘fatally flawed,’ it is a matter of choosing a design that is not unnecessarily fatal to the patients. It’s is not sloppiness (as some of his critics would allege), but being true to the study question as he saw it: How can we save as many lives as possible…

“A lot of people have gone crazy,” says Raoult, “claiming that we were dealing with the most dangerous drug in the world, when almost 2 billion people have already taken it.” HCQ, he points out, has been given safely for decades, even to pregnant women, but is being made to look dangerous. […] “It is bizarre, but it is part of something, you know, that people are completely turned mad about one of the medics [sic] that have been most prescribed medications in the history of humanity.”"

 

What about the studies in Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine that claimed HCQ caused cardiac arrhythmias and a 30% increase in deaths in COVID-19 patients? The mainstream media trumpeted those stories. But those same media outlets refused to run a story a month later when both journals pulled the articles and accused the authors of fraud. Two of the best medical journals in the US were suckers for unsophisticated con men.

In the middle of an emergency, it’s criminal to withhold from dying people the only treatments that have shown some success in preventing death. There is a problem with HCQ: it’s in short supply because every country in the world but the US is giving it to their people. Dr. Fauci has nothing to offer.

Dr. Fauci isn’t stupid, so what motivates him? Dr. Doidge believes it’s politics:

“We live in a culture that has uncritically accepted that every domain of life is political, and that even things we think are not political are so, that all human enterprises are merely power struggles, that even the idea of “truth” is a fantasy, and really a matter of imposing one’s view on others. For a while, some held out hope that science remained an exception to this. That scientists would not bring their personal political biases into their science, and they would not be mobbed if what they said was unwelcome to one faction or another. But the sordid 2020 drama of hydroxychloroquine—which saw scientists routinely attacked for critically evaluating evidence and coming to politically inconvenient conclusions—has, for many, killed those hopes.”

Not to mention, killing people. Apparently, Fauci and the Democrat experts who support him would rather watch 90,000 people in the US die than give any credibility to President Trump in an election year. And the Democrat-controlled media and politicians support him.

At the hearing, expert witnesses Anthony Fauci from the National Institutes of Health and Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were emphatic. Redfield itemized the dangers -- delayed learning, social isolation, undetected child abuse and even adolescent suicide -- from school closings. And he called attention to his agency's blueprint for reopening schools safely, down to how to space the desks and handle lunchtime.

The CDC reports that COVID-19 poses a smaller risk to children than ordinary flu, for which schools never close. And children under age 10 are unlikely to infect family members, based on data from Switzerland, Iceland, and South Korea.

The American Academy of Pediatricians and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine are urging that at least grades K-5 reopen. These are where remote learning is the least feasible and infecting family members is unlikely.

Contrary to this science, the Democratic Party and teachers' unions are demanding schools stay closed. They're holding kids and parents hostage to defeat Trump in November. And, of course, get paid for staying home.

 

A New Zealand study found that infected students didn't infect their teachers. Yet, New York City teachers are taking to the streets, marching with coffins and skeletons. They're frauds.

Transit workers, cops and firefighters and showing up for work -- despite the real dangers they confront.

On "Face the Nation" this Sunday, Clyburn shamelessly repeated his false claim that schools can't reopen because the administration doesn't have a safety plan. Here's the plan. Check it out. 

 

 

 

Lie No. 3: Clyburn accused the Trump administration of having no "comprehensive national strategy" to combat the virus.

The truth is, since March, these agencies have produced thousands of pages of detailed action plans. I've read them. You might disagree with some details, as I do, but to insist there's no plan is preposterous.

Yet, that's the Democrats' playbook. No surprise, The New York Times parroting it, claiming in a July 30 editorial there's been an absence of "coherent approach " for months.

At Friday's hearing, Fauci laid out the administration's vaccine strategy, optimistically predicting a safe, effective vaccine before the end of 2020. Redfield ranged over plans for workplaces, schools, nursing homes and child care centers.

Despite the virus surging in many states, Redfield testified that if Americans "wholeheartedly embrace five measures" -- masks, hand hygiene, social distancing, avoiding crowds and protecting the elderly "we can get this virus under control," without shutdowns. That's an important message.

Finally, look out for a fourth lie being concocted now -- that the administration is cutting corners on safety to deliver a vaccine before the election. Fauci assured Congress several times it's not true. But The New York Times, tapping into anti-vaxxer energy, published a news story Monday implying as much, without evidence, just innuendo and mostly anonymous sources. That lie could dissuade people from getting vaccinated and cost many lives. It's the most dangerous of all.
