Police seized the rifle seen in a viral video late last month showing a St. Louis couple waving firearms at protesters marching through their gated neighborhood.

St. Louis police officers executed a search warrant at the home of Mark and Patricia McCloskey, two personal injury lawyers, on Friday evening. They seized the rifle that Mark McCloskey was seen brandishing and pointing at demonstrators.

“We complied with the search warrant. They took my AR,” Mark McCloskey confirmed to The Todd Starnes Radio Show. “I’m absolutely surprised by this.”

As for the pistol held by Patricia McCloskey during the confrontation with protesters, the couple told police their lawyer has it.Charges have been not yet been filed against the couple. Joel Schwartz, the attorney for the McCloskeys, said he hopes to meet with St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner's office next week.

The viral incident drew a mix of widespread criticism and support for the McCloskeys' choice to arm themselves in the face of protests described by many outlets as peaceful. The protesters were passing the McCloskeys' mansion on their way to the home of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson to demand her resignation after she read aloud online the personal information of her constituents calling to defund the police.

Gardner, a Democrat, announced last week that she was investigating the McCloskeys, adding that she was "alarmed" by what she had seen. Gardner defended the protesters, saying they were met with "violent assault" when the McCloskeys brandished their guns.

Patricia McCloskey told Fox News that she heard protesters talk about how they wanted to take over their home, kill her and her husband, and their dog. "There were so many threats. Then, the dog barked, and they said, 'I’m going to be killing her, too,' or 'it, too,'" she said.

These people were obviously not really threatened, they were posturing. But they could have pulled a trigger and actually shot someone.

Some people who live in gated communities tend to be paranoid.

I run into them on occasion while yard sailing.

I was looking for house numbers when some guy popped out, asked me what I wanted, and asked to see my ID. Instead, I showed him the address of the yard sale. Then he grunted, "well, okay" and wandered off.

I am not wrong to go to yard sales, nor to say that people that live in gated communities are often quite paranoid.

Once I got a seat next to this woman who had just decided to have a house built in some gated community near Houston and was staring at paint chips, all of them beige. She asked me which shade I liked the best, and I said, that for a house, I thought beige was just boring. But she said that all the houses had to be beige because of the Home Owners' Association. She thought it was fine for them to demand beige, bit she wanted something more "distinctive". I suggested mauve or puce, which confused her, but she wrote it down.

It was then I realized why Mercedes USA has so many shades of beige for their cars: people like this woman are their market.

All sidewalks are public sidewalks. That is why none of these people was arrested.

The French have an expression, "Épater les bourgeoise".

This was a silly confrontation between two groups of silly people, and it is fortunate than no one was actually harmed.

I know for a FACT people were mad at the mayor before the protesters invaded the couple's house and people were demanding her resignation.

No holds barred chat

  • Hey kfools.. does this help?

  • By Vegas

    Liberals are going to hell.

  • grgle

  • Where’s at @slideman?

  • Hola

  • I know this one, this new chat thing. I've seen it called the "shoutbox" among other things in my past. Very hard to hide from the chat box. The question is asked, there's no time to go search what other folks think, this is real time. Only seconds should be between chat box replies. This one is made for me. In the chat box one has to be quick on their feet with stuff at the ready. This chat box is the worst nightmare of anyone trying to deal with ol' teach.

  • By pmurT

hey @teacher that sounds like too much work for me LOL I need that useless thing called *time* in order to authenticate facts and truths which get posted by deceitful Dems

  • What does the red number refer to? currently, on my screen it says 2

  • Where does it say 2?

  • So. In the chat....if you tag a member the text afterwards should be a private message.

  • How do? I'm teacher. If I'm online and the powers that be can figure out how to make it immediately apparent to me that whatever I've said here has been replied to I'm gonna show up right quick and kick some teeth in. It's the chat box, all this is new and scary. I know this gig. This starts now.

  • Hey kfools, did you lose your securtiy cert? On my browser it is saying your site is not secure?

  • Mine too. I'm looking into it.

  • Mine too.

  • I thought it was my location..

  • Just gave to renew the security cert. No big deal I'll do it tonight

  • OK thanks

  • Happy Anniversary, America... on your Civil Union.

  • All lives matter.

Scroll the other way for a while and you'll see me saying that these days the chat box ain't gonna work as one has to be quick on one's feet. The question is posed, there ain't no stinkin time for ya'll to refer to your betters for the answer, ya'll don't understand these things, this political debate, ya'll don't have the answer at hand, ya'll haven't thought this through, ya'll ain't ready for the next question I'll ask,  ya'll can't handle the pace that a bloke such as I can bring it in the chat box, ya'll can't handle this format.

This one is made for me.

Being offended does not make one correct.

I still own this cat box.
