American carnage: These aren't protests — they're riots. Someone must end the lawlessness.

by Buck Sexton

Police sirens wailed up and down 8th Avenue in Manhattan, and New York Police Department helicopters hovered overhead Monday night. The rioters, according to my social media feeds, were several blocks away from my home, pillaging a clothing outlet. A family member sent me a photo he took, from his window, of a jewelry store being ransacked, with no cops in sight.

New York City, like so many others across the country, is under siege.

The police here are not in control of the streets. Anyone can turn on the television or open up social media and see rioters chanting profanely, destroying public and private property, or even attacking women shop owners.

… snip …

We must end the riots now. That means a willingness for police to use force against those who break the law and refuse to comply with lawful arrests.

To be clear: Trump is not advocating for peaceful protesters to be harassed or harmed. But there’s a clear distinction — morally and legally — between “protester” and looter or rioter. That so many of the people choose to conflate these terms is evidence of their dishonesty and cowardice in this tense moment.

And the truth is that the *protestors* are now complicit in the rioting and looting, because they are allowing those doing that to hide behind them.   We’ve all seen the bricks etc being lobbed over the lines of “peaceful” protestors.   Preventing police from getting to the offenders.   And EVERYWHERE these “peaceful” protests go, the violence and looting follows.    EVERYONE knows this.    And these “peaceful” protestors rapidly turn into a violent vengeful mob when the mood suits them and opportunity arises.   We’ve seen this over and over.   That poor truck driver who saved a bunch of them from certain death and then was beaten and robbed for his trouble is a case in point.   Just saying ...

I know this one, this new chat thing. I've seen it called the "shoutbox" among other things in my past. Very hard to hide from the chat box. The question is asked, there's no time to go search what other folks think, this is real time. Only seconds should be between chat box replies. This one is made for me. In the chat box one has to be quick on their feet with stuff at the ready. This chat box is the worst nightmare of anyone trying to deal with ol' teach.

How do? I'm teacher. If I'm online and the powers that be can figure out how to make it immediately apparent to me that whatever I've said here has been replied to I'm gonna show up right quick and kick some teeth in. It's the chat box, all this is new and scary. I know this gig. This starts now.
