My cat, Sissy

Recommended Posts

Guys, I have to have my cat put down tomorrow at 2:30.

She's 18 years old, and it's just killing me.  I've cried and cried those tears that hurt and burn to cry.

I know there's far worse going on, but damn, I can't stop.

She's an American Longhair, Black and White and absolutely gorgeous.  She has a thick ruff from her neck to her feet and more fur than should be legal.

When she was younger, she would steal every pen, pencil, straw, anything with that shape and hide them under the living room rug.  She would fetch like a puppy, was friendly to everybody, and didn't have a shy bone in her body.  She could climb some of the tallest trees and come right back down just as fast, fearless!

How can you love a little animal so much?

I guess it seems stupid to a lot of people, but it's broken my heart

Thanks for listening.

It's alright I know exactly how you are feeling right now.

Last week I had to put my dog of 12 years down.

I am still Heartbroken.

It is totally okay to be sad and grieve.

Regardless of what other people think, Animals are family members.

It's effortless to love a creature that would never harm you. My Lab has two requests, notice me & feed me. Cheap date. And your dog would die defending you. Your best friend may run, but not your dog.

It's not stupid Mindy...our pets are part of our family.

I had to put down 2 kitties a couple of years ago and I cried like a baby both times.

You gave yer kitty a good home and a long life.  Hang in there.

The grandma had a big MANX. Always getting into battles with other cats. Several trips to the vet for stitches. He had a knot on his head, and when the vet lanced it, it was the claw from another cat he did battle with, that broke off in his skull. Toujha the MANX.

That was one tough tomcat!

They really are family members, but this was the first time I took it so hard.   Today was the first time I was able to go to her grave.

I don't know if I'll get another, but they seem to find me instead of me finding them.

I've had dogs, too, and damn it's difficult to lose one.

It's too soon to figure out whether another dog or cat will enter the family, as I have two older rescue cats.  They're not Sissy, though, so I'll just wait and see what happens.

I appreciate those of you who encouraged me.    It means a lot.

Again, I want to thank each one of you who encouraged me and shared how you felt when you lost a friend.    I still can't think about her without hurting my heart.

We're all the same in so many ways, and I truly appreciate that.

I've had my babies and that experience was so beautiful that words can't describe that kind of love.

I decided not to keep this experience to myself because I needed to let it out, so I did.

If it annoys you, (and I suspect it annoys and/or amuses many here), it doesn't surprise me.

Thank you, though, for the advice.

Have two cats right now..there are 16.75 years old and it will be tough to see them go when that time comes. However, I am ready to have no animals in my house for awhile. Two children is enough

Roadkill, I couldn't see the video as it's no longer available.

I'm getting better, but it IS losing a member of the family.   I'd love to go to the shelter and get a kitten and puppy so they can grow up together, but that might be more than I can handle.   Puppies are a LOT of work, taking them out several times a day, getting things they might like to chew on but inevitably, it comes down to them loving your shoes and the edges of the furniture.    It doesn't bother me as much as it does Robert, so I suppose that's not going to happen.. ☺️

Not to me.

But be strong ... whatever ,,, whoever  is born ... will die.

I was owned by plenty of cats ... all of them loved me and I and my family loved them.

I did not keep track, but I can say we spent  like 20, 30 Ks for their well being.

Maybe more.

But there comes a time to say goodbye.

Our cats:

Robbie, (with this guy we shared countless adventures all over the western hemisphere and  some parts of Asia ...

I had a top-most floor made only for him, in my pickup truck for our travels, with sand-box and all kind of amenities.

And all our luggage there under.

This guy did not need to talk ... we understood each other only by looking into each other's  eyes.

And then came ...

Mariko,

Nerina,

Eddie,

They all passed away for different reasons ...

Eddie was eaten by a fox during a travel wih the whole family, which included Robbie ... Mariko got a huge tumor... and had to be put to sleep.

Nerina went to sleep and never woke up.

We're currently servants of two chihuahuas.

You just won't believe how sweet they are !

They bark a lot, though ... but that seems not to bother us as much as it bothers one of our neighbors.

In fact, a nasty old lady living quite far from us, first came yelling and then  threatened to start a signature collection  to force us to put an electric collar on them ...

It looks like she has no takers ... never heard a thing from her for the last 8 months or so.

Plus, I'm very much involved in the commutity ... I doubt very much anyone will take he trouble to seriously confront me about a barking chihuahua!

I mean, other than this neurotic lady.

lol

Maybe she's a "Karen?"   LoL.

I know.   I've had many dogs and cats before who were members of the family.  I'm not sure why this one hit me so hard..   It's been a month, and I still can't  talk about her at times without tearing up.  Maybe because she was with me for so long.  I know it'll pass, I HOPE.   Otherwise, well, it may be time to check in to the nearest asylum.

Thank you, BTW, for being so kind.

  • Hey kfools.. does this help?

    Liberals are going to hell.

  • Where’s at @slideman?

  • Hola

  • I know this one, this new chat thing. I've seen it called the "shoutbox" among other things in my past. Very hard to hide from the chat box. The question is asked, there's no time to go search what other folks think, this is real time. Only seconds should be between chat box replies. This one is made for me. In the chat box one has to be quick on their feet with stuff at the ready. This chat box is the worst nightmare of anyone trying to deal with ol' teach.

  • By pmurT

hey @teacher that sounds like too much work for me LOL I need that useless thing called *time* in order to authenticate facts and truths which get posted by deceitful Dems

  • What does the red number refer to? currently, on my screen it says 2

  • Where does it say 2?

  • So. In the chat....if you tag a member the text afterwards should be a private message.

  • How do? I'm teacher. If I'm online and the powers that be can figure out how to make it immediately apparent to me that whatever I've said here has been replied to I'm gonna show up right quick and kick some teeth in. It's the chat box, all this is new and scary. I know this gig. This starts now.

  • Hey kfools, did you lose your securtiy cert? On my browser it is saying your site is not secure?

  • Mine too. I'm looking into it.

  • Mine too.

  • I thought it was my location..

  • Just gave to renew the security cert. No big deal I'll do it tonight

  • OK thanks

  • Happy Anniversary, America... on your Civil Union.

Scroll the other way for a while and you'll see me saying that these days the chat box ain't gonna work as one has to be quick on one's feet. The question is posed, there ain't no stinkin time for ya'll to refer to your betters for the answer, ya'll don't understand these things, this political debate, ya'll don't have the answer at hand, ya'll haven't thought this through, ya'll ain't ready for the next question I'll ask,  ya'll can't handle the pace that a bloke such as I can bring it in the chat box, ya'll can't handle this format.

This one is made for me.

Like Jesse Ventura said to all that would not take a chew in the movie "Predator." LF.org is a political debate forum. This chatbox just ups the opportunity to go at it. Ya'll have your political views, seems to me that ya'll should have thought these things out and be ready to battle.

  • By teacher

Is real time political debate a thing ya'll hide from? What do you morons do if you happen to run into some one with opposing political views on the street?

  • By teacher

I've never ran into anyone, in real life,  that said Obama lied. I run into folks that tell me Trump lies. I'm at work. I didn't bring it up. I don't reply, I'm representing a company. Not my place.

  • By teacher

Lookie there, all I have to do is get out and come back. Why is it that liberals, when they have a company man before them decide they that is the time they go off? Why would ya'll put a company man into that position?
