If living in texas or being in the military was so great, why then is this true?

Recommended Posts

Me and my dad and other veterans had our conversations..

They actually told me that I earned my honor proving myself in tough mudder, and in the veteran-lead Air Combat USA, and be a Navy seal for a day programs..

Not to be envious of them..

Because being in the military sucks..

It's no fun and games proving their capabilities for honor or glory...

People die in there and they're treated as badly as people in prison.

Each and every single one of them also told me that Texas sucks..

It's the best place they ever left..

They were ALL happy to leave Texas.

:)

Thank you for your honest opinion, Andrew.

I am a mercenary from Texas.

You have my honest respect.

Carry on, young Sir.                                                                         🥃

Your anecdotal evidence is just that. Worthless in terms of truth.

I suspect that like the military, everyone in texas isn't a real man.

the reason the founders gave us the second amendment is because the first statement is true.

It is a sad fact that military suicides are twice as high as most other professions: https://tinyurl.com/yapn5vnb

What does that say about military life?

Certainly, not all people are capable of adapting to life in the military. Others are.

Texas is a very large state, and some of it is hellishly hot and humid, and some small towns are horribly boring. But there are also many pleasant places in Texas.

I see no reason to badmouth everything about Texas or life in the military.

Badmouthing all of Texas indicates  that a person is simply ignorant of Texas and Texans.

What is not to like about Willie Nelson?

I met several of my fellow graduates at a HS reunions a couple of years ago that were fascinated with the military, read war story comics, and enlisted as soon as they graduated. They served honorably and ascended through the ranks  and retired and are living happily ever after. A few served in Vietnam in pencil pushing jobs, others served in Europe, one has a brother that followed him into Army and got killed.

It is dumb to badmouth the military. It is not hard to inform one's self about the good and bad points of military service prior to enlisting. the military is great for some, unbearable for others.

Willie Nelson!  One of my faves.

As for living in Texas, sorry to say I have never been south of Kansas City so I wouldn't know about living there.

Re military life, I've had several relatives and friends  in it.  Some liked it but many did not.

Like so many things, Texas and the military life are a mixed bag of good and bad.

Brownsville is the only place in this county more sultry and humid in the summer than Miami.

The Big Bend area has a nice climate most of the year at the higher altitudes.'

The LBJ Library is far more interesting than I expected it to be.

Laredo and San Antonio have terrific atmospheres.

They invited me to come for a job interview in Uvalde once, and everything went really well.

When I did not hear back from them for three weeks, I called and they told me they needed to hire a woman.

I am rather happy I did not get the job, looking back. Uvalde was not all that friendly a place.

You should have filed a lawsuit for reverse discrimination.

That would have been expensive, unproductive and stupid. They had more men on the faculty than women. I belong to no minority group.

Military ain't so bad; or would you prefer to be speaking German or Japanese? I enlisted in the Navy nuclear sub program to avoid Vietnam. Defective color vision - reassigned. I did not like the sound of that. Ended up working on Detroit Marine engines on riverboats. Sometimes your destiny waits at the end of the path you took to avoid it. I guess God will have His jokes.

The military teaches one how to be a man. They should bring back the draft. Way to many snowflakes in todays America.
