So once Trump loses...

Recommended Posts

Because he is going to. He is done.... do you think his supporters will start rioting around the country? We see how they are just when they are asked to follow simple guidelines to keep themselves and others safe from a worldwide pandemic. I think it's going to be a shit storm. It would probably be wise to have national guard on standby in each state, particularly the really red states. You know Donny boy will ask for his followers to riot once he is beaten by a complete landslide. It's going to get crazy. Buckle up

I don’t think there will be riots. The overweight clowns who show up to protests with fake assault weapons are few in numbers. Their million man rebellions during the Obama years attracted less than a hundred men.

Hopefully you are right. I still think perhaps some measure should be taken because that idiot is not going to lose quietly and he loves to get shit started. His ego will not allow him to realize he's a cancer to this nation and he will most definitely call for some kind of retaliation

He will probably try but do you think he can make it work? The joint chiefs will not stand by If he declares himself an unelected dictator of America.

You’re right.  Some of his followers may try to support him with their little AR-15s. They have no military organization or meaningful firepower so police would make short work of them. The tricky part will be to prevent unrest without loss of life. A show of resolve would likely keep the armed idiots in their homes watching “Naked and Afraid”.

I agree, there could be one or maybe a few stupid morons who think they are going to ignite some radical protest but the vast majority of these fat wannabe special forces frauds know better when push comes to shove, they will crawl back into their pathetic little caves spewing more dumb hate.

I don't think he is done.

He has the incumbent advantage and no matter how bad his covid response was, Biden still did exactly nothing to help. I mean, yes, Trump is the president and Biden is just a guy so it's not a fair comparison... but this kind of situation definitely makes people long for stability and familiarity, and as awful as the new normal is, Trump has managed to become it. In 2004, Bush and his endless warmongering became the new normal and people voted him back in because Kerry didn't offer a strong enough alternative. He was still a really unpopular president at the time, but everyone was still afraid of terrorism and Bush had won everyone over after 9/11... so they didn't want to take a chance on someone new.

This is also a unique situation for the world and Americans don't compare the US to other countries often enough to realize just how badly Trump messed this up... so all they're seeing is a crisis and a bunch of money being given out, not the alternate reality where competent leadership prevented things from ever getting this bad. I am not seeing the anger at Trump that should probably be there... and Americans are blinded by this absurd notion that they're the best and have nothing to learn from other countries, so they won't look at New Zealand or South Korea or even China and go 'oh, we should have done that', and if Biden suggests as much he will be painted as unAmerican.

But of course if he DOES lose, it could be pretty bad. It won't be just the zealots-- Breitbart and Fox will begin spreading conspiracies about the deep state, election fraud, illegals voting, Biden trying to install a socialist regime, etc... and this will infect the people who haven't necessarily been so active about showing their support. I think it will be very bad if he wins, and very bad if he loses.

But if Biden wins, he needs to bring back the Fairness Doctrine and start holding media outlets to higher standards, because the media is really playing a massive part in pushing the US towards fascism.

Sorry to say, neither do I.  No matter what Biden does or doesn't do.  No matter his past policy decisions or personal life.  And no matter the truth:  Republicans and the Trump campaign will launch one of the most vicious smear campaigns the Republic has ever seen.  Because it is the nature of this president to lie and encourage others to do so.  The fictions they invent will be beyond shocking.  Attacking Bidens' strengths and character assassination.  And they have a huge war chest with which to disseminate the disinformation.

Republicans have two major factors on their side; a fanatical base willing to carry out the dirty tricks and the greediest billionaires to finance them. They deceive good people by raising the red flag of abortion and gay marriage to divert attention away from their arrogant and greedy policies which cause the poverty, war and pollution we are facing today.

Beyond that, Republicans, far more than Democrats indulge in cheating and dirty tricks:---  Flipping electronic voting machine results ....  Sending out wrong time and place info to likely Democratic voters ....  Enlisting foreign governments to flood social media on Trump's behalf ....  Suppress the vote with unnecessary qualifications ....  And many more.

And add to all this, an Electoral College which tilts the playing field toward the Red.

To prevail, despite all that, Biden will have to run a vigorous, energetic campaign which defeats lies with the truth and give people hope again.  For us Democrats, this will be the fight of our lives.

I don't consider myself a Democrat but  I will vote for them because of the simple fact that every single time in my life we have had a republican president it ends up being a complete shit show

Hey, I'm an independent because even when I was eighteen I just was not sure of either party. Of course since then I have either voted for the Democrat, or people like Ralph Nader.

I like that you call it a shit show because that is exactly how I think anyone should consider it to be.

I happen to think that most people are not bat crazy, even though sometimes it seems like many are since Trump did in fact get elected in the first place.

The fact of the matter is this, most people have to work for a living and they also have to worry about a whole host of issues like healthcare, housing, climate change, etc...

When it comes down to it, people are not so much reliant on government, but they would definitely like it if we had some semblance of good stewardship from our dear leaders.

After all is said and done, good stewardship needs to start with the people; and thusly, we must all start to believe that all of us need to come together more to create a better world.

It's a heck of a lot better than hopeless divide. Younger people more and more do see this which is most evident. Older people - and not all of them, but many of them, do know this.

Why about eight weeks ago this friend I work with who is sixty eight and is still a vital fixture where I work said, Trump is an a hole - she said it out loud in front of a large group. And well honestly, she hit the nail on the head again we all thought.

Agree Completely.

I agree the two Republican presidents in my lifetime have been total disasters.

Bush and Trump.

Didn't think we could get worse than Bush but you know.....

Technically I was around for four. Reagan and George h.w. although I have no real memory of either of those. I suppose in retrospect George H.W. is the best out of the four republican presidents, I mean he did at least encourage action to be taken on the AIDS pandemic that Reagan did fuck all to even aknowledge. Sad thing is at this point Trump makes even George W look like a goddamn saint. That is how hard we have fallen

Trump isn't just an asshole, he's the biggest freeloader I think we have ever seen out of a president. Completely there for nothing but a free ride. Irony is his supporters giving so much grief to the poor people collecting welfare but yet are more than happy to let Trump fuck them bone dry of all their tax dollars so he can lay around and do nothing all day

If only more people were capable of recognizing bad government when they see it.  Unfortunately, many of the less educated depend on others to get their own opinions.  And there is no shortage of demagogues to fill their heads with propaganda.

For those in the Cult of Ignorance, sensational lies and conspiracy theories are often more attractive than having to face unpleasant reality.

Agreed completely.

Republicans do nothing but raise the deficit, give money to corporations and the rich through tax cuts.

And Cry like babies when Democrats are in power.

But we are the real "snowflakes" right??

How not more people are seeing it blows my mind. I think some of them care more about just hopping on a bandwagon than actually seeking truth.

Yep, the MAGA Sheep are formidable.

They follow anything that Trump says it's sorta scary.

I honestly don't know if Trump IS worse than Bush.

It's pretty hard to top that amount of warmongering for profit and political gain.

He's definitely cruder and stupider and more overtly racist, though.

Yeah I agree.

George W. Bush was successful at starting a war that has lasted ever since the beginning of his presidency.

Let's hope Trump doesn't do that same.

They are both awful but IMO I think trump is worse in almost everything.

At least George W. was a little presidential.

One of the scariest things Bush was trying to sell was privatization of social security, It really boils down to them destroying what people might have left for survival in the world and them stealing it from the most vulnerable and calling it the natural process of the system.

Or as Republicans would say you have to pick yourself up by the bootstraps....

People need to realize that in the modern day, Republicans give two shits about you and your family.

Please tell me with a straight face that Mitch McConnell actually cares about me and my family..... Or Even President Trump.

They are a disgusting excuse of a party.

McConnell hates anything that will help lower and middle class citizens with the challenges of getting by this day and age. To them wealth and privilege is a birthright and making it more difficult to succeed means those who are already enjoying their privilege more secure. The last thing McConnell wants to see is large sums of cash given to the masses to help them through this tough time because it devalues the dollar and he wants to serve only the privileged people. Its really amazing that people actually vote him and the likes of him in office and they really don't hide their intentions nearly as much as before. First things first and lets remove the pig and hopefully carry some good majorities in both houses and pass a major infrastructure bill to put people to work on good jobs for the next decade.
