Recently binge watched American Crime... it was amazing.

Probably the best show since The Wire.

I do like the Globetrotters though; saw them as a Cub Scout & then maybe 10 or 11 years ago with my son & his Cub Scout friends.

My best 3 Series--

1.  The Checklist.   About CIA/FBI.   Spy vs. spy.  Highly intelligent.

2.  The Vikings.   Straight up 'bull gunfight'.

3.  The Shield.   About half-good cops turning bad.  Mean to the bone.   And moral failings.

These are soap-operas for tough-guys.

Women like soap-operas.

I guess men do, too.    If the subject is right.                                🥃

Alright, you sumbitch.

Don't make me start liking you !!

I love Yellowstone.  But it is too drawn out and convoluted.

Here are my top 3.

1.   The Blacklist.  (CIA/FBI).

2.   The Vikings.   (kill, or be killed).

3.   The Shield.   (Half bad cops turn bad).                                                      🍺

Gunsmoke 1955 to 1975

Gunsmoke is an American radio and television Western drama series created by director Norman Macdonnell and writer John Meston. The stories take place in and around Dodge City, Kansas, during the settlement of the American West. The central character is lawman Marshal Matt Dillon, played by William Conrad on radio and James Arness on television. When aired in the United Kingdom, the television series was initially titled Gun Law,[1] later reverting to Gunsmoke.[2]

The radio series ran from 1952 to 1961. John Dunning wrote that among radio drama enthusiasts, "Gunsmoke is routinely placed among the best shows of any kind and any time."[3] The television series ran for 20 seasons from 1955 to 1975, and lasted for 635 episodes. At the end of its run in 1975, Los Angeles Times columnist Cecil Smith wrote: "Gunsmoke was the dramatization of the American epic legend of the west. Our own Iliad and Odyssey, created from standard elements of the dime novel and the pulp Western as romanticized by [Ned] Buntline, [Bret] Harte, and [Mark] Twain. It was ever the stuff of legend.

Did you know, Miss Kitty died of HIV/AIDS? Musta been a 'party girl'!  And that Peter Graves was James Arness brother? And they they built the whole "Dodge City" town set at Kanab, Utah? And, that Matt Dillion never shagged Miss Kitty? On or off set.Hmmm. (Maybe he knew something about her?) Most of the outdoor stuff was shot in California tho, hence the big oak trees and hills.

The only time I was at Dodge City was in June, and a massive thunderstorm dumped torrential rain all night and flooded the campground I was in.

Great writing for the show, gives you a break from your troubles, mostly flat in Kansas and it is tornado season this time of year.

The best old mining town I ever saw was Deadwood, S.Dakota. Nevada City CA is close where I live.Perfectly preserved! I know where there are real "ghost towns" nearby, still intact!

Dodge City is flat, and has a constant source of water on the Arkansas (ar KAN-sass) River and the Oglalla aquifer below ground. The Pony Express could ride the 1800 miles from St Joe to Sacramento in ten days, so 30 days would be on a rather slow horse. Dodge City KS to Kanab, UT is 689 miles.

You forgot Deadwood. Al Swearengen and Mr. Wu from "Deadwood" Season 1 - YouTube  and this quote was a classic:  In my opinion E.B. has some of the best writing in the series and is easily one of the most quotable characters. Currently rewatching it all yet again, and last night heard one of my favorites: “August commencement to my administration, standing stymied outside a saloon next to a degenerate tit-licker.”

I was out on a gold mine west of deadwood for a few weeks, I ran into some people who were similar to the actors on gunsmoke and one gave me some good gold prospecting tips, we pulled some gold out of a high bank area on the mine. Did you feel any earthquakes in your area?

I know this one, this new chat thing. I've seen it called the "shoutbox" among other things in my past. Very hard to hide from the chat box. The question is asked, there's no time to go search what other folks think, this is real time. Only seconds should be between chat box replies. This one is made for me. In the chat box one has to be quick on their feet with stuff at the ready. This chat box is the worst nightmare of anyone trying to deal with ol' teach.

  • By pmurT

hey @teacher that sounds like too much work for me LOL I need that useless thing called *time* in order to authenticate facts and truths which get posted by deceitful Dems

So. In the chat....if you tag a member the text afterwards should be a private message.

How do? I'm teacher. If I'm online and the powers that be can figure out how to make it immediately apparent to me that whatever I've said here has been replied to I'm gonna show up right quick and kick some teeth in. It's the chat box, all this is new and scary. I know this gig. This starts now.
