The Reddest State in the Union to name a Highway in No Man's Land After Donald J. Trump

Recommended Posts

At least the GOP "legislators" will pay for it out of their constituents pockets?

There is nothing quite like a redneck Dumbass state overtly supporting a politician.

Well done.¬†ūü§°

By the way, I was born and raised in Oklahoma.  I had enough sense to leave.

A bill naming a section of highway in Cimarron County after President Donald Trump passed out of a Senate committee Tuesday.

Highway 287 from Boise City in the Panhandle to the Oklahoma-Texas border would be named the ‚ÄúPresident Donald J. Trump Highway,‚ÄĚ according to the legislation presented by Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow.

Senators debated the bill for several minutes, ultimately passing the measure by 5-4

The signage would be paid for by legislators who support the measure. Previously, the intent was to change the name of a section of the historic Route 66 highway, but the location was changed after pushback from state officials.

Dahm authored another bill creating 'America First' license plates that also passed out of the Senate Transportation Committee.

This measure replaced earlier efforts to create two license plates stating 'Make America Great Again' and 'Keep America Great Again.'

‚ÄúWe felt it would be easier to have one license plate instead of two,‚ÄĚ he said. ‚ÄúTalking about America first is something that everybody should be able to get behind.‚ÄĚ

Part of the proceeds from the license plate will go toward two veterans organizations.

Both bills are up to be heard by the full Senate.

The Donald Trump Highway will run all from Boise City ( pop. 1,266) to the Texas border through half of Cimarron County, OK, the least populated county in Oklahoma (2,476, and dwindling). Quite fitting.

Cimarron County has Helium wells, and is the only country in the US that borders FOUR STATES: Kansas, Texas, New Mexico and Colorado (in addition to exciting Texas County, OK where the County seat, Guymon, has nearly 20,000 inhabitants). There is even one small town in Cimarron Co. (Kenton) that dares to be different by observing Mountain Time!

Why? THE PIG was done nothing for this country's infrastructure. Not one cent.

There is perhaps no more boring a place in the country than Boise City, OK.

Perhaps there is a distant hope that by doing this, perhaps Cimmarron County will have an "event".

Perhaps Trump will send Eric, or at least,  Tiffany to help dedicate the new signage.

The Boise HS band will play, (what else?) "Oklahoma". Batons will be twirled, pom poms will be waved.

Local dignitaries will visit from as far away as Guymon.

There will be a few liberals out there that will give the celebration a middle finger salute. Boomer Sooner!

Oklahoma has high taxes and 3.2% beer.

And, traditionally one the highest incarceration rates in the US.  Funny how that goes hand in hand with Red State Republican politics, isn't it?

No worries,  Trump is sure to get all Seven of Oklahoma's Electoral College votes in the 2020 Election.

Will he show up and "Bless" the new Highway dedicated to him is the only question?

Trump won the  vote, but there were a few brave Democrats:
