Will the Dems Lose the Unions?

Recommended Posts

"Nevada’s Culinary Union, which boasts of 60,000 members, says supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have “viciously attacked” the organization and working families due to the organization’s recent policy explainer, which notes the socialist senator’s intention to erase union health benefits under Medicare for All."

"The influential union, which describes itself as Nevada’s “largest immigrant organization,” recently sent an informational flyer to members highlighting policy positions of six Democrat presidential candidates, including Sanders. The pamphlet shows that the presidential hopeful would effectively “End Culinary Healthcare” under Medicare for All — a position the union disapproves of"

By taking away their union health benefits they worked 8 decades to get.

That is what they are telling Bernie and his supporters.

Obamacare caused millions of people to lose their healthcare insurance or sent their premiums through the roof.

Bernie might say, "Ok, the unions can keep their plans if they like their plans".

Remember when Obama said that?  He literally had to make a public apology to people who lost their plans.

Already lost them. Dems are trying to take away great health insurance.

And replace it with socialized healthcare where the government calls the shots instead of consumers making their own decisions.

Fine with me.

Sanders supported Castro...when Castro died he had $900,000,000 in his personal bank account.

Bernie also supported Venezuela...the daughter of the former socialist president is now worth $4.3 Billion.

Some kind of socialism eh.

Bernie use to say "millionaires and billionaires" in his speeches.

Since Bernie became a millionaire thanx to capitalism he only says "billionaires" now.

He became a millionaire on selling books that no one read.    These are payoffs.

Could be.

Bernie wants capitalism for his own bank account, then wants to punish other wealthy people.

That sounds a bit like a dictator to me.

This doesn't sound supportive.

Let's suppose Bernie gets elected, the House stays Democrat, and then the Senate goes the same way. Think of the gravity of this scenario: Rome all over again but worse. It would be the beginning of the incremental demise of the world's greatest experiment in government where couples bring children into the world with jubilation because their prodigies would likely have a full, peaceful, bountiful, and free life here in the one-of-a-kind, good ole USA.

Wrong again numb nuts. The only thing that will be gotten rid of are health insurance company middlemen, that take $600 billion per year for just being insurance companies. That give us subpar coverage for three times the cost, than every other industrialized country on the planet.

We need to take big bank, and big insurance out of healthcare. This frees up money that can now be paid to workers as wages.

One day when you grow up, and acquire thinking skills, you may discover this. But I’m not holding out much hope in your case.

I heard Bernie was discussing giving waivers to Unions but FORCING 180 million Americans to lose their private healthcare.

Of course that isn't going to fly so he'll throw unions under the bus.

That's actually pretty unlikely.  As it is now, DHHS/CMS doesn't even administer its own programs (e.g. Medicare) without help from insurance companies.  The idea that they'd actually take over benefit administration, claims processing and payment, and utilization management for 320+ million people seems a bit outlandish.
