House Will Vote Wednesday to Send Impeachment Articles

Recommended Posts

“The American people deserve the truth, and the Constitution demands a trial,” Ms. Pelosi said in a statement. “The House will now proceed with a vote on transmitting the articles of impeachment and naming impeachment managers on Wednesday, January 15.”

The start of the trial is mostly formalities.  Current Senate rules require the House Managers be received the day after they are formally named.  That is the day Roberts will be sworn in as presiding officer and will, in turn, administer the oath to the Senators and the rules are formally adopted.  That will be it for probably 4-7 days.  The Senate will officially notify the President and recess while both sides are given time to prepare their briefs.

If the Clinton trial is any indication, the House case (basically their opening argument) will be given in one day...they had up to 13 hours in that trial...but the White House opening brief can take several days...in the Clinton trial, the WH spread their opening over three days.

People shouldn't expect anything meaningful to happen until about the 22nd.

Of course, once the Senate receives the managers and takes their oath the trial will have officially started and Sanders, Warren et.al. are off the campaign trail (or at least are supposed to be).

House will not announce managers. I suppose they want a big ceremony

If Trump is guilty, that's the way to go. America will know GOP is corrupt.

Having ZERO basis for an IMPEACHMENT and a dismissal only PROVES to the AMERICAN PEOPLE that you SCHITSTAINS only tried to overturn the 2016 election and NOTHING MORE!!!

SO we EXPOSE your POTTIES CORRUPTOCRAPS AND IDIOTS since there is NO CRIME involved in ANY of your little "articles of impeachment".

ALL you have is sour grapes over LOSING, SCHITSTAIN!!

Why do you think Pelosi has been delaying the articles...she delayed again this week.

One possibility...Pelosi will say the senate won't be fair and she could junk the whole thing.

Cause we all know what will happen if she actually sends the articles over to the senate...the dems will be a laughing stock.  :)

After this vote is done, will they have a vote to determine whether they should comply with the last vote of sending impeachment articles?

Aren't you excited?

In a few short weeks this entire BS will go away and the Democrats will be on TV saying they tried to save the country
