Australia Is Committing Climate Suicide!!!

January 3, 2020

"Australia today is ground zero for the climate catastrophe. Its glorious Great Barrier Reef is dying, its world-heritage rain forests are burning, its giant kelp forests have largely vanished, numerous towns have run out of water or are about to, and now the vast continent is burning on a scale never before seen.

The images of the fires are a cross betweenMad Max” and “On the Beach”: thousands driven onto beaches in a dull orange haze, crowded tableaux of people and animals almost medieval in their strange muteness — half-Bruegel, half-Bosch, ringed by fire, survivors’ faces hidden behind masks and swimming goggles. Day turns to night as smoke extinguishes all light in the horrifying minutes before the red glow announces the imminence of the inferno. Flames leaping 200 feet into the air. Fire tornadoes. Terrified children at the helm of dinghies, piloting away from the flames, refugees in their own country.

The fires have already burned about 14.5 million acres — an area almost as large as West Virginia, more than triple the area destroyed by the 2018 fires in California and six times the size of the 2019 fires in Amazonia. Canberra’s air on New Year’s Day was the most polluted in the world partly because of a plume of fire smoke as wide as Europe.

Scientists estimate that close to half a billion native animals have been killed and fear that some species of animals and plants may have been wiped out completely. Surviving animals are abandoning their young in what is described as mass “starvation events.” At least 18 people are dead and grave fears are held about many more.

All this, and peak fire season is only just beginning.

And yet, incredibly, the response of Australias leaders to this unprecedented national crisis has been not to defend their country but to defend the fossil fuel industry, a big donor to both major parties — as if they were willing the country to its doom. While the fires were exploding in mid-December, the leader of the opposition Labor Party went on a tour of coal mining communities expressing his unequivocal support for coal exports."

LIAR POSTING LIES!!!

Psssst. MORON.

Since the 1850's there has been A GRAND SUM TOTAL OF 1 DEGREE "warming" AND THAT WAS DUE TO THE "little Ice Age" and the CLIMATE COMING BACK TO OUR NORMAL TEMP we are experiencing TODAY!!!

Oops.

Did your little "scientists" fail to tell you the TRUTH AGAIN??

It must be pathetic to be so gullible to let your HANDLERS SHOVE THAT SMOKE HOSE UP YOUR ASS!!

Climate Change Driving Refugees To U.S. Border!!!

October 31, 2018

"Over the past three weeks, a migrant group that started with fewer than 200 people grew into thousands as it wound its way through Honduras, Guatemala, and now Mexico, headed for El Norte, the United States. In what has become known as the caravan, the migrants have simultaneously encountered barricades and generosity in their flight from dire situations in their homelands.

The Trump regime and its proxies have greeted the caravan with hostility that has included anti-Semitic conspiracy theorizing about who organized it, Islamaphobic nonsense about ISIS terrorists concealed in its numbers, and the usual racist tropes about the alleged evils of brown people. And now the plan is to greet however many of their dwindling and exhausted numbers make it to the border with several thousand well-armed U.S. soldiers.

Most of the people in the caravan, 80 percent according to some reports, come from Honduras. But since 2014, there has been a steady exodus of migrants from Honduras and two other Central American nations—Guatemala and El Salvador—still plagued by the residual impacts of Cold War policies that generated civil war, indigenous genocide, and death squads, while exacerbating the deep poverty that had spurred leftist revolutionaries to topple or try to topple powerful, U.S.-backed leaders.

And there is now a factor at work that is worsening poverty and violence and the desperate behavior they breed: climate change. That could ultimately mean millions will be headed to El Norte."

Australia has not had fires like this before that is a lie

Once again you prove you know absolutely nothing, GED ... because according to …

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushfires_in_Australia

… these are just some of the many fires that have taken place over the years …

1851 Black Thursday bushfires … area burned 12 million acres … 12 dead (plus 1 million sheep and thousands of cattle)

1938-39 Black Friday bushfires … area burned 4.9 million acres … 71 dead (3700 buildings)

1951-52 bushfires … area burned 9.9 million acres … 11 dead

1961 Western Australian bushfires … area burned 4.4 million acres … 160 homes

1975-75 NT bushfires … area burned 110 million acres

Those numbers are comparable to …

2019-2020 Australian bushfire easton … area burned 15 million acres … 24 dead (1500 homes).

So you’re wrong again, GED.

There were comparable sized fires before AGWalarmism every came along.

Furthermore, the Wikipedia article states that the recent fires "can be attributed largely to ten years of poor governance and legislation that prevents rural burn-offs and forest litter clearing" ... which is pretty much the same thing that leftists econuts did to California to cause it's recent bad spat of destructive fires.   So it's man, not CO2 induced warming (which you till haven't proven to actually be a thing) that is the cause.

Oh and by the way, here's a report on the fire history of the Australian Alps: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/270396085_Fire_History_of_the_Australian_Alps_-_Prehistory_to_2003 .   And one of the conclusions of the report is that prior to European settlement there were fires, but their size was less because of several factors.   First, Aborigines appear to have deliberately started fires (perhaps every 10 years) which helped make sure big ones didn't occur.    But more important, early Europeans changed the nature of the forests and bushlands, making them more flammable in terms of type of materials.   Charts in the report show that during the time of early Europeans was when the amount of fire and intensity was the greatest according to charcoal records.   The intensity and number of fires tapered off in the 20th century.  The report mentions a researcher (Byles) finding evidence of "a single large fire event such as that of 1926, possibly comparable in size to the events of 1939, 1952 and 2003" and noting "it was not at all the only widespread fire to have affected the land he was observing."

So there were comparable sized fires before AGWalarmism every came along.   And the recent fires appear to be caused by poor forest/bushland management ... not CO2.

3 votes max is a climate scientist it seems.

I wonder if he applied the same scientific mind when he ran for office and got those 3 votes.

He is right about the temp. Every scientists has confirmed that the Earth has warmed only 1 degree. Yes, the Earth is getting warmer...by 1 degree. Is 1 degree enough to cause world wide panic and say that the world will come to an end in 12 yrs unless we all spend 91 trillion dollars on a green deal? No.

What do scientists say?

David Bowman, director of The Fire Centre at the University of Tasmania, says the most striking thing about this fire season is the continent-scale nature of the threat. The damage in each state is explained here.

“The geographic range, and the fact it is occurring all at once, is what makes it unprecedented,” Bowman says. “There has never been a situation where there has been a fire from southern Queensland, right through NSW, into Gippsland, in the Adelaide Hills, near Perth and on the east coast of Tasmania.”

He says one of the less explored issues, though it has begun to receive some attention in recent days, is the economic impact of having prolonged fires that affect so many Australians.

“You can’t properly run an economy when you get a third to a half of the population affected by smoke, and the media completely focused on fires,” he says. “I’m not quite certain why anybody would want to be claiming fires have been like this before. It’s concerning as it is a barrier to adaptation. To deal with these sort of fires the first step is to acknowledge the scale of the problem.”

As always, Vegetable, you are a lying denier cult retard, trying to push fraudulent denier cult propaganda and denial. Why are you such an imbecile?

In the real world, every working climate scientist has confirmed that the Earth has warmed 1.5 degrees F., just SO FAR, as a result of human caused global warming, with the rate of warming still accelerating rapidly, and with 19 of the 20 hottest years occuring in the 21st century. As of the beginning of 2019,  the five hottest years had happened in the previous five years, and now, with 2019 coming in as the second hottest year on record, the last six years were the six hottest years on record.

Global temperatures in 2018 were 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit (0.83 degrees Celsius) warmer than the 1951 to 1980 mean, according to scientists at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York. Globally, 2018's temperatures rank behind those of 2016, 2017 and 2015. The past five years are, collectively, the warmest years in the modern record.

- NASA

The change in global surface temperature relative to 1951-1980 average temperatures [as of the end of 2018] - Eighteen of the 19 warmest years all have occurred since 2001, with the exception of [the exceptionally hot, El Nino driven] 1998. The year 2016 ranks as the warmest on record. (Source: NASA/GISS). This research is broadly consistent with similar constructions prepared by the Climatic Research Unit and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Moreover, you lying retard, NOBODY has said that the world will end in 12 years. What scientists have said is that the world only has possibly as much as 12 years to effectively curb the the things humans are doing now that are creating the global warming/climate change crisis, like our CO2 and methane emissions, before the warming and climate changes accelerate beyond anything we could possibly do to deal with it, with the end result, probably by the end of the century, being a ruined and mostly uninhabitable planet, with the Tropics being too hot for humans to survive, dead oceans and most animal and plant species driven to extinction.
