Why Christianity has been struggling with sex ever since the Nativity

Recommended Posts

Matthew tries to prove Mary was a virgin by referring his story back to an ancient Hebrew prophecy from Isaiah, that “a virgin shall conceive and bear a son”. Yet Matthew was writing in Greek, and unfortunately the original Hebrew didn’t talk about a “virgin” at all, just a “young woman”. On that slight shift in translation, Christianity built a great deal.

Christianity’s problem with sex goes back to these first centuries of its history, when early Christians turned sex from a biological necessity into a vice; from a pleasure into a sin.

Athens and Troy was what a 1,000 years before Christ?  Kama Sutra was how many centuries before Moses?  Don't play tomorrow games trying to repeat last generation's mistakes governing social outcomes from now on.  You only naturally expose your desire to believe everyone is as gullible as your own ancestry has been so far.

More than leftwinger's. When I attack ideology, I go from 8 great grandparents, 4 grandparents, 2 parents, each reproduction that never reproduced their own replacements so far. My specific general statements leave no exceptions due to theories or theologies, geographical area, race, creed, color, national origin, gender, academic training, spiritual direction, political science, economic rank in each chain of command governing ancestors to constantly believe life is larger than self contained to simultaneously alive now as positioned in an ever changing shape and form of each person alive now in their individual natural point of kinetic displacement defending ideas dividing everyone into subjective characterizations of who they rather be from now on.

Maybe because of this shaky knowledge of Jesus’s parentage, Christianity has tied itself up in knots about sex and marriage: it must often seem to outsiders that Christians do little else but argue about these questions. And frequently, confident Christian assertions about sex are made without understanding the history behind it all.

Attention leftwinger. You started this thread. What is your response to this? Why do you keep steering this off-track? This is typical radical left behavior.

You get a full technical knock out and then you turn it into violent rage. You got your bluff called.
