NONE REMOVED FROM OFFICE

NONE  REELECTED, EITHER.

Nixon realized that he would lose his protection and his benefits and bailed.

Tulsi Gabbard now can claim she is unique.

There are clear advantages to a parliamentary system. When the PM displeases to many, he is given a vote of no confidence and he is outta there within a week.

There are differences between parliamentary systems.

In the British system, whichever party ever gets the most votes names the PM from among its members. Since there are usually at least four parties, there are a LOT of minority governments. I don't think Churchill got over 50%, ever. I don't think Thatcher  ever got over 50%.

The French system, in my opinion, is better: the top two candidates  must win a second election.

Two parties is too few for such a diverse country as the USA.

Been saying this for a looooooong time.

The difficulty these days is both the D's and R's will do anything to keep their co-monopoly on power. In the origins of our system, that was really the only time there were feint alternative voices, and the two competing powers worked hand in hand to snuff them out quickly.

Think about it. We find ourselves in the most fractured state our country has ever been in, short of the Civil War. BOTH parties thrive on this as it makes each that more powerful. A third or fourth voice can't even be heard with these two machines.

Four viable parties would be far superior to our present power whores.
