Liberalism Versus Conservatism

I think you need to read about Trump Derangement Syndrome and check for symptoms.

Clinton and Obama are clearly two of our worst President's ever......put down books about other people's opinions and look at real results.

Clinton saved the nation from the Reagan/Bush Sr. disaster caused by the S&L bankruptcies that made new taxes.  And recall Bush Sr. said "Read my lips...no new taxes".   He probably had no idea of the devastation caused to the economy by the Reagan S&L bankruptcies that saw many go to prison.   Mike Milken is probably still in prison.   He did lots of broker deposits for astronomical loans to shyster/Mafia types.    Michigan lost one of its Ivan Boesky who spent time in jail for his shenanigans.   Ivan pedaled good humor by bike in Dr.joeb's neighborhood in North West Detroit.  He went to Post Intermediate and Mumford High.   He found a way to become very rich illegally on Wall Street with big and plenty fake deals.   He was a corporate raider among other funny dealings.    Clinton came to the rescue to get the economy rolling again.    After Bush Jr. cleaned out the clocks of our citizens Obama came to the rescue.  Obama inherited the biggest economic mess since the 1929 collapse of the stock market.   Obama rescued GM with government loans.   Unemployment was soaring when Obama came on the scene.   By 2016 unemployment was at 2 to 3 percent and stayed that way during the first years of Trump.  Trump had nothing whatsoever to do with the good economy that he inherited.  But he was bound and determined to destroy the good economy.  When the virus hit the economy was starting to flounder.  Dr.joeb published those government statistics in 2019 in this forum.   The virus polished the economy off for good due to Trump's inability to launch a thorough defense against the virus like other nations did.   He did nothing but attempted to defer the viral pandemic to the states to fix.   That was all over the news when governors were crying out for federal help.

So, why is Rebelgator bulshidding everyone viewing this topic?   Trump lied ...people died.   Dr.joeb developed the equations that describe how the death rate from herd immunity would result in hundreds of thousands of deaths.  The article is in a medical journal.   Trump believed in taking the lazy president way out and depend on horrible deaths from HERD IMMUNITY.  Do you understand how that works?   If not, then find the professional article just published this year by Dr.joeb.   It is clearly the worst way to survive the epidemic.   Masks, avoiding crowds, tracking cases, testing for the virus, ....etc... are the ways to slow the virus down until a vaccine is available to our whole nation.  That won't occur until next year possibly by summer.

Politics 101 as usual:   Here is Dr.joeb's take on Ginzburg's death just before the election.   It is well-known that hospitals can pull the life support unit off according to the wishes of the family.  Dr.joeb was at one of those events for his brother dying of lung cancer.  Euthanasia is practiced in most hospitals where they allow pulling the life support at the wish of the person's family and the person themselves who is dying.   A similar thing happened to Dr.joeb's mother who was also on her death bed.   That time the family was not consulted but a nurse showed up one evening when Dr.joeb was with his mother and brother.   Dr.joeb saw the nurse do something suspicious.  After she left Dr.joeb told his brother our mother will be deceased  tomorrow.  At 9:00 a.m. the next morning my mother said her parting words to my brother ..."I love you David".

So, why would Justice Ginzburg and her family decide now to pull the life support?   The answer is simple.  Justice Ginzburg knew that the GOP would go haywire and lose confidence of the constituency of the GOP senators running for election.   And likely she must have known that many of them would have heartburn about pushing through an appointment for a new US Supreme Court justice.   Will McConnell and the GOP senators fall for the trap?   Maybe they will.  They are not just ornery but stupid, too.   Dr.joeb predicts that some will decide it is not a good idea to attempt to push through a nomination for filling the Court Vacancy.    The GOP is in a quandary.   Just deciding to go through with a botchy plan to rush a new Justice will be a bad political move given that the public wants it to occur when we know what the outcome of the election will be.

By the way Ginzburg's parting words were allowed her opportunity to go out knowing that she averted damage to the US Supreme Court balance between pro GOP and pro Dem justices.   Actually judges are not suppose to be pro anything.  But the reality is they are.

Some of the GOP senators just don't get it.   Ginsburg set them up for shooting themselves in the foot by electing going on to the spiritual world.   She suffered with that cancer for as long as it took to open the GOP to shoot themselves in the foot by attempting to vet a Trump pick for the US Supreme court.    The public at 62 percent want the pick to be held off until the election.   No doubt there stupidity will cost them to lose a few of those tight Senator races in November.   All the Dems need is to gain 4 seats and win the presidency.    Trying to push though a candidate a little more than a month away from the election can only hurt Trump and the GOP senators.    Justice Ginzburg knew what she was doing right to the end.

For some of the dumb bozos in this forum who just do not think analytically consider this.   The House controls appropriations.   The GOP will lose funding for their pet projects in GOP red states.  That will not make their supporters happy.   In the event that by some chance that the GOP gets to pick and vet a candidate for the Justice seat then there are even more recourses besides affecting the election results for the Senate and Presidency.   If the Dems should win the presidency and the Senate then they will have the option to add two Justices to the US Supreme Court to make it 9.    Roosevelt did that.   Probably adding seats to the US Supreme Court is a good idea any way.

The best option for the GOP is to simply wait until the election is settled.   It will enhance their chances to keep the Senate and by a long shot keep Trump.   Both of these are remote possibilities.  The US public has shown how much they want GOP leaders by their voting in the 2018 House election.   Trump has destroyed the credibility of the GOP.

Romney was known as a health care and education governor of Massachusetts but he seems to have a blind spot for university education.   His positions on education were restricted to earl k12 education.   Dr.joeb has restricted most of his positioning on education to the university/college level of education.   Dr.joeb in the 1970-80s realized that our university teaching was becoming corrupted by professors from other nations unable to speak idiomatic English like citizens born in the USA.   Gradually whole departments of high tech and science departments have become infiltrated and taken over by teachers who do not have the ability to teach US students at the lower levels of university education.   Ability for the subject no doubt translates into k12 education where often it lacks as Romney has stated.   In our nation it is the bottom 1/3 of our college graduates who go into k12 education.   In Singapore only graduates in the top 5 percent of college graduates are allowed to teach at all levels.   The results are that they have the highest rated students graduating in the world according to academic testing.

Dr.joeb is not a xenophobe.   He has no objection to highly educated foreign-born immigrants.   He only believes that they should not be allowed to teach at the lower levels of college education because inability to speak idiomatic English like natural born citizens is a pre-requisite to effective teaching.   Our top students no longer flock to the high tech engineering and science subjects as in the Kennedy rocket era because our students do not want to major in subjects that are dominated by professors who do not speak top-of-the line idiomatic English.   We now are approaching third world status in the education of our youth in engineering and science compared to many of the nations in Asia.

Sorry for the typo.  Adding to justices would increase our US Supreme Court to 11 Justices and not 9.

You are invited to hear the musical poem by Dr.joeb titled "USA Home of The Pizza".   You can find this musical poem in Dr.joeb's Facebook.   You need to know the true name of Dr.joeb to find his Facebook.  It is Joseph Brierly.   At present Dr.joeb is doing a musical appreciation series.  Each week he tries to give insight into the types of music.  All of the compositions highlighted in this series are composed by Dr.joeb.   The series has been going on for about 3 months.   If you love music and poetry you can listen to all of the compositions videos in sequence.  Facebook operates something like Youtube.    It allows videos.  Most of the videos are 10 to 15 minutes long.

Dr.joeb does not accept friends unless he knows them personally or they are relatives or friends of friends.   He has thousands of requests over the years from people he does not know.   But his purpose in having a Facebook is mainly to keep in contact with relatives and friends.     All of Dr.joeb's videos are public.

At some point Dr.joeb will do a video that gives a composition titled "Opinionation".   This one is borderline political.   It is a real masterpiece as far as Dr.joeb is concerned.    Folks on this forum full of ungrounded opinions might see the light by listening carefully to the message of "Opinionation".

Though your point is very valid, you are preaching to people who love and embrace the fat slime ball in Florida, you are talking to people who can not read and or comprehend the New York Times and that is written on a 8th grade reading level.

These people have no principles and or morals nor do they want to, it is about twisted facts and misrepresentation to serve as they want it to serve them and them only.

They argue capitalism verses communism, and their is No difference. capitalism all the money goes to the companies and corporations, communism all the monies go to one individual for redistribution, and much like capitalism it becomes trickle down economics.

Both are losers, and neither wants compromise as that takes control away from them as GREED in both is the main point.

Sadly, you make a good point.   The GOP has sided with big corporations and not with the working classes.   But capitalism has spurred many otherwise poor folks on to doing great things for our nation.    Communism bankrupts citizens.  As you say horrible communist dictators like Putin have long kept their population in poverty.   Ford Motor company made the auto industry of Russia possible in the 1920s through  1948.   Inventiveness has always been the result of capitalism.   Capitalism just needs to be controlled by government to make sure that the benefits of free enterprise make a better life for the working classes.   Salaries of CEOs should be government controlled like in other capitalistic countries.   Originators of better ways of doing things should be allowed to make as much money as their inventiveness deserves.   The very rich billionaires like Warren Buffett cannot give their wealth away fast enough.   Big money paid to basketball players is a fine idea.   We should pay more for the best.   Most of those huge bonuses paid to athletes just gets recycled back into the pockets of others any way.   Many of them die broke like Joe Louis, the greatest heavyweight champion ever.

Dr.joeb is an ultra conservative about money.   He allows less than 5 percent of his savings in risky stock market ventures.  At 80 about to turn 81 in October it makes sense to invest in annuities, corporate bonds, and big loans to huge companies like GM.    Risky stock adventures are for the folks under 50 who can regain losses.   At 81 Dr.joeb knows he is running out of time.   Dr.joeb has many progenitors who lived 90 and above.   But time can be ruthless.   As long as Dr.joeb is alive and able to punch keys on his keyboard and piano he plans to stay very active in a number of ways.

Next week Dr.joeb plans to give the details of a musical experiment that he did in 2018-19.    Dr.joeb composes in music normally with both hands.   He wondered what might happened if he allowed his left hand to compose its own composition while his right hand did the same.   This curious experiment was more successful than Dr.joeb had in his wildest imagination.   However, it takes a very sharp ear to hear the two compositions going on at the same time.  Many will just hear a wild and crazy jumble of notes.    You are welcome to hear the results of that experiment on Dr.joeb's Facebook.   Just look him up by his legitimate real name Joseph Brierly.    Dr.joeb only uses his pseudonym in expressing politics in this forum.  Facebook is a totally personal different kind of forum.

Keep praying that Trump will finally resign and cause no more damage to our Constitutional republic.   He just needs to realize who and where he has been in that awful previous life as Hitler.   If he realized who he is then there is a chance that he will try to fix the horrible karma he inherited that is still lurking in his soul.

So far Dr.joeb has read  12 percent of Woodward's Book based on his Trump interviews.   Woodward only seems very mildly critical of Trump so far.   But he clearly does not like the way Trump has behaved with his wild unsupported claims.   Dr.joeb will read Woodward's whole book before pronouncing any judgment on Woodward's beliefs.   His title "Rage" has to do with the frequent raging behavior of Trump.      Woodward does not see Trump's behavior as presidential.   Trump is an outlier in his behavior.   No president has ever gotten away with as many outright outrageous statements without support.   That is the feeling Woodward conveys so far.

Finally, the public will get to hear the abomination of Trump's tax filings.   Biden has paid over one million in federal taxes while Trump has paid zero many years and 375$ in each of the last few years.   Trump's businesses have mostly lost money.   He appears to owe at least 400,000 but estimates are more than 1 billion.    Moreover, he has structured tax relief to big shot businesses like the ones he owns.   Trump is a big fat obese loser according to real facts.

No doubt more will be coming out soon.   Do you suppose that Barr will decide to prosecute if the audits find blatant illegalities in Trump's tax return?   How about the US Supreme Court?   Will that Court side with the US public or a criminal president?    Trump must be removed from office to save our democracy.  End of story.

We are $26 trillion in gov't debt ... and counting.

We have another $14 trillion in consumer debt.

I'm not sure I'm all that impressed with capitalism's accomplishments.

Apparently, it is based on NOBODY paying their bills.

As strange as it may seem budgeting money can be viewed as what ever the government wants it to be.   Money is flexible but productivity is not.   Capitalism gives rise to a strange way of supplying the money it needs.   And it does not mind letting money owed skyrocket as long as productivity keeps rolling along at about 3 percent or so.   Money is artificially created at the will of whoever is running the presidency. Viewing the economy as only a monetary function gives a false reality.   Successful administrations create more productivity and more inventiveness in a system based on flexibly allowing money to be what it need be to keep our nation productive and making it even more productive.    Basically, money is an illusion that is what ever big government wants it to be.  Productivity is not an illusion.   Artificial currency fuels productivity.   The value of the dollar is like any other commodity.   If you print more of them then you can buy less with them and inflation occurs.   Controlled inflation is optimal.   We have controlled inflation very well since Carter's administration.

It does in the sense that monetary debt is illusory.   As one famous old time senator said a billion here and a billion there and before long you have real money.   Money is an artificial contrived way of allowing services and products to go from one entity to another.  It is that simple.   Focusing on just dollars and cents measured in national debt is a blind alley going no where.   A depressed economy occurs when the circulation of the funny money is not flowing smoothly.

And defaulting on debt DOES have consequences of

a life shattering variety.

Dr.joeb has to clarify his outlook on Trump taxes.   Trump mainly invested in real estate.  Real estate has many ways to reduce payments of federal tax to the IRS.    Trump no doubt has paid more than his fair share of property taxes in the millions.   Those tax dollars were undoubtedly paid to the state of New York unless he found a way not to pay them using state tax laws of New York and other states like Florida.

Dr.joeb has had the same predicament of Trump.   Dr.joeb has paid thousands of dollars in state taxes but very little to no federal tax.   Last year Dr.joeb paid 378 dollars to the feds and close to 20 thousand to the state of Michigan.   Donald Trump Jr. once pointed out that his father paid plenty of property taxes.   Property taxes are a deduction along with depreciation that minimizes federal taxes.   Probably, much of Trump's tax returns were scrutinized by accountants and found it to justify not paying much federal taxes.

Dr.joeb does not wish to distort reality on the issue of federal taxes.   They are set up to encourage property investments even if it minimizes federal taxes collected.     However, there are lots of ways to cheat the federal government by inflating values of property and claiming astronomical depreciation losses.    So, it remains to be seen just how honest Trump's tax returns are.   Dr.joeb carefully never inflated any values on properties he has owned.  In fact, Dr.joeb does not even claim depreciation on most of the properties he owns.

Trump tried to bully the moderator and Biden.   That is not the way debates are suppose to work.   Fact checkers will have a field day sorting out all of the misrepresentations of reality coming out of Trump's oral puke.  The funny thing is lots of lesser intelligent folks will  think that that is what debates are suppose to be.   Fools will think that a political debate is won by the one who shouts and interrupts the most.   Trump was making up balderdash arguments.   Every one probably has heard that mail in ballots has little to no fraud.  Trump tried to portray mail in voting as totally corrupt even though he votes that way as no doubt all of his supporters.   No one has ever established major fraud in mail in voting.  Trump cited small potato cases of ballots with the Trump name on them in waste baskets.   Maybe they were invalid ballots that simply were pitched out.   Every election has such bad votes.  Some ballots have been pitched because they voted for both candidates when only one was allowed.   The fact is no one has shown major fraud in ballot counting.   But errors can occur.  And we generally believe that the errors balance out against each candidate.    There will always be ballots judged invalid because people make mistakes in filling them out.

Virginia just sent out 1,000 duplicate ballots.

That's major voter fraud.

And no, the ballots that were thrown out, were opened and 8 were thrown out - all Trump votes, two others were put back their envelopes... Biden votes.

Nearly 1,000 duplicate ballots sent to voters in Virginia
