GOP Panicked as Suburban Losses Continue Into Third Year.

Recommended Posts

The real story of GOP losses in 2017, 2018 and 2019 is the suburban shift from red to blue.  Trump has reoriented the Republican Party toward the priorities and grievances of non-college-educated, evangelical, and rural whites. In so doing, he lost white-collared urban, suburban and, to an increasing extent exurban votes.

Quote

Amid all the various local factors that shaped GOP losses—from Kentucky to Virginia, from suburban Philadelphia to Wichita, Kansas—the clearest pattern was a continuing erosion of the party’s position in the largest metropolitan areas. Across the highest-profile races, Democrats benefited from two trends favoring them in metro areas: high turnout in urban cores that have long been the party’s strongholds, and improved performance in white-collar suburban areas that previously leaned Republican.

Republican strategists are deeply concerned. They know that Trump will cost them the Senate in 2020 but they are powerless to do anything about it.

Which will be way better than defeating trump.

Can you imagine him in the old white house stewing because he is absolutely useless except to tweet.

They override any veto and essentially Nancy Pelosi is the president.

Agreed. Democrats can win both the White House and the Senate but the Senate is more important. Trump is largely ineffective, at least domestically. McConnell is the politician inflicting the most damage to the country. He needs to be stopped.

Trump is fighting impeachment full time. No reason for his supporters to stick with him.

He has been neutered by the impeachment inquiry and by his own staff. He’s little more than a sideshow now.

Send him to a low security prison. And let him die there.

He’s already trapped in the cage of own diseased mind. In the coming years we’ll hear reports that makes Nixon’s chats with portraits seem like rational conduct by comparison.

Future generations will not believe what is happening now. I'm here and I barely believe it.

They should be. I made a post on this a couple weeks ago that was scorned by other conservatives but I know better.

There aren't enough whites to maintain the republican voting bloc. Soon they will be minority voters. The republican party is over.

No a con man can be any color.

Suburban demographics are suffering from white flight. A very real phenomenon. Michael Obama was just talking about it. We all know it's true. Whites are leaving city's in droves. They are being rapidly replaced with Minorities. It's in their best interest to support Democrats and in White's best interest to support Republicans.

Pretty easy really.
