Actually, the Federal Government has always been at least a generation behind the state of industry and We, the People RE: firearms.

 

It has only been during the relatively recent Progressive/Democrat National Socialist regimes that the Federal Government took over.

How interesting.

 

Of course, in the War of 1812 at least two major battles - the Defense of Baltimore and the Battle of New Orleans - militia, not regular army, won the victories.  In fact, dispatches from the field praised the "fine regulation" - i.e. their skill at arms, discipline, and courage under fire - of the militia forces.

My instincts are my best weapon against collective whatifisms. They conquer life with persuasion of power by a "We state of mind over matter cast of character role playing" against those that  know life only supprots one lifetime at a time regardless how a species reproduces individual lifetimes currently replacing the previous generation in overlapping links of total sum lifetimes alive now.
