"However, in 2009, with passage by Congress of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Obama administration allowed all states to waive the work requirements for food stamp enrollment."

That's not "asking."

That's "forcing" via starvation.

Most people want to work.  However sometimes things happen.   Threatening to starve people (and their children) is just cruel.

It figures a ultraliberal would look at it that way....the poor victims.

Statewide, a total of 13,663 able-bodied adults without children or other dependents were enrolled in the food stamp program before the change implemented Jan. 1, according to the Alabama Department of Human Resources, the news site AL.com reported.

Some people never worked a day in their life...don't know what work even means.

That's rare.  Most people do work and want to work.

I can see cutting people off after a period of time and zero effort.  But not everyone and not right away.

Bullsh|t !

Most of them were already looking for a job on their own account.

Those counties only gave them one more incentive why it'll be good for them to lift their sore, fat asses from the couch and get moving.

So, you don't think you should ask people to look for a job while they are receiving tax payer benefits?

Some already have a job.  There are tons of Walmart employees out there on food stamps because their employer pays them crap wages.

So let me ask again,

You don't think it's correct to ask people to get a job if they are receiving state aid?

Super simple question.

A yes or a no will do fine.

Or a yes or a no with an explanation is also fine....but at least answer the question.

By the way ...does the law in these counties say if you already have a job and get assistance you still have to find one? I doubt it.

So, not a useful argument for you.

Demand from the start with threats of starvation?  No way.

Communication is the key.  "You will receive 2 months worth of assistance.  After that, you must show you are looking for work.  Any exceptions to this rule must be approved by [ name, title, contact info ]."

Alabama is dependent on the fed which takes money from blue states and gives it to Alabama.

they should work for those handouts. All those red necks should work one day a month to repay the gumamint.

there should be no exemptions for obesity

lol. obviously not. they voluntarily dropped their food stamps from being too fu*cking lazy to participate in a work program.

and obviously people on food stamps aren't starving. they're the true fat asses of america. unless they trade them for crack, that is.

So threats of starvation are fine....It's the  time frame for when we implement the starvation you are having trouble  with?
