Jacinda Ardern rightfully takes to task the ineffective U.S. government in the wake of numerous massacres. She is spot on in her criticism: a government that is unwilling to protect its citizens is corrupt; if it is unable, it is weak.

She may not realize that our politicians are whores for the NRA, and a large percentage of our population is composed of propaganda puppets created by Fox News.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern does "not understand" why the U.S. has not changed its guns laws despite the exponential increase in mass shootings in recent years. Ardern banned assault rifles throughout her country less than a month after its worst-ever mass shooting occurred in March.

"Australia experienced a massacre and changed their laws. New Zealand had its experience and changed its laws," Ardern told CNN's Christiane Amanpour in an interview Tuesday. "To be honest with you, I do not understand the United States. What's their problem? "

Just days after the Christchurch shooting on two mosques that left 51 people dead, Ardern announced an impending ban on military-style semiautomatic weapons, assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. On April 10, New Zealand's parliament voted 119 to 1 to pass the gun control legislation.

Her rapid action lies in stark contrast to the lack of federal gun control measures in the U.S. despite hundreds of mass shootings in recent years. "I could not fathom how weapons that could cause such destruction and large-scale death could be obtained legally in this country," Ardern said in April.

Ardern acknowledged New Zealand's previous "pretty permissive" gun laws and affinity for hunting, but "that does not mean that you need access to military-style automatic weapons and assault rifles." She said. "New Zealanders mostly agree with the new legislation, and those that don't, too bad."

Australia acted similarly in the aftermath of the 1996 Port Arthur shooting, which left 35 people dead. Then-prime minister John Howard — a conservative politician and close friend of George W. Bush — passed sweeping gun control legislation just 12 days after the massacre. Since then, there has not been a single mass shooting in Australia.

Ardern is in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron hosting a summit on curbing online extremism. The Christchurch massacre was live-streamed on Facebook and also appeared on Instagram, YouTube, Reddit and 8chan. Now, governments around the world are calling on social media giants to end the use of their platforms for acts of terrorism.

Since the start of 2019, 123 mass shootings have occurred in the U.S., according to the Gun Violence Archive. The Las Vegas shooting in October 2017 remains the deadliest in American history, when 59 people were killed and more than 500 were injured. With one exception, no major federal gun control measures have passed Congress since the 1990s.

well that goes to show you that Prime Minister Ardern is clueless and shows her hand as a typical leftist

The number of massacres?? please

say what you want about the N.R.A but at least they are honest enough to tell the truth about things

Is she aware that the majority of gun deaths in America are suicides?

Is she aware that Gun homicides counts for 80% of the stats?

Is she aware that the US has gang and organized crime culture that is glorified by hollywood  and its subsidiaries like HBO etc, example do you know what was voted as the greatest show ever created and showed on HBO?

Answer, The Sopranos , and some people thought it should have been "the Wire", do you know what those shows are about?

Is Prime Minister Ardern aware of the inner city violence in parts of Chicago, Baltimore, Ferguson, Compton and other cities with Section 8 housing and the illegal guns most of them have.

Is Prime Minister Ardern aware that Handguns is the choice of weapons for criminals

Is Prime Minister Ardern aware that London England surpassed New York city in Murders for the first time in 100 years in 2018, and the number one cause for homicide in London was "stabbings" not shootings.

Is Prime Minister Ardern aware that mass shootings are done by disturbed and mentally unbalanced individuals and makes up a small percentage of gun homicides.

Is Prime minister Arden aware that one in four kids are on antidepressants and ritalin and the state agencies have tied the hands of parents attempting to discipline their children  or tries to find proper help and this causes more problems in the end, mind you there are a lot of unfit parents

Is Prime minister Ardern aware of how guns saves lives, the NRA publishes stories from Newspaper articles from all over the country , its found in their magazine monthly.but the national media wont report that.

So to blame the NRA for gun violence is just attacking the symptom but avoiding the problem

As personreal pointed out, She changed the gun laws AFTER the shooting incident. She accomplished in weeks what our country is unable to do in decades. Why? Because of the domestic terror organization, the NRA, that bribes our elected officials. Our country is corrupt and pathetic.

If she believed those gun were the problem, then why didn't she do it sooner?

Because she's a politician...and didn't want to take the blame for her lack of security so she blamed guns instead of herself.

Not every issue or thread is about abortion. There are plenty on the board. I suggest you take your remarks there.

As for her sending condolences, I would assume not. World leaders can't spend all of there time drying America's crocodile tears. If we were serious about these massacres, we would take care of them ourselves. But no, it's the same old 'thoughts and prayers' tap dance after every new massacre.

Canada has lax guns laws too. I think she assumed the people in her country weren't lunatics, like Americans. Due to the internet, our psychosis is spreading. Watch for an incident in Canada soon. The difference being, they might actually do something about it.
