Hey Democrats, why not focus on the Working Man a bit more

Recommended Posts

And the working woman. You know the people who work all day long. The people who have to work to get by, and raise a family. They got to raise a family, they got to have children, they got to fill the land, they got to populate. Unless, the robots, take over, and the productivity rates go way up past the usual 1.5 to 2.0 percent like we've seen in the last several decades.

If the robots ever take over much, they will not need all the babies, and all the self driving cars, and all the food stuffs will be kind of cheap to produce. Who would ever want to work hard if that was the case? Well, I'm guessing that if that was the case, you would have to pay people a lot more to work. I mean, considering the supply would be so easy to come by.

Anyway, this is the best song Rush ever did in my opinion.

You Democratic Hopefuls, play this song at the end of everyone of your speeches. Get the use of the song endorsed by Rush. If you win the primary, have Rush play "working man" live at the fricking

Democratic Convention!!!

Get the Unions involved have them there too / Rock the heck out of that Fricking stage!!!

Peace!

I’ve recently taken notice of the high volume of threads that begin like ... ‘HEY DEMOCRATS ...’ followed by a rebuke of sorts.

Just seems awfully trolly.   Makes me wonder if the bots/trolls are working overtime.

9 to 5
Tumble outta bed and I stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
Yawn and stretch and try to come to life
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin'
Out on the street the traffic starts jumpin'
With folks like me on the job from 9 to 5
Workin' 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin'
Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it
9 to 5, for service and devotion
You would think that I would deserve a fat promotion
Want to move ahead but the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is out to get me!
They let you dream just to watch 'em shatter
You're just a step on the boss-man's ladder
But you got dreams he'll never take away
You're in the same boat with a lotta your friends
Waitin' for the day your ship'll come in
An' the tide's gonna turn and it's all gonna roll your way
Workin' 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin'
Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'
They just use your mind and you never get the credit
It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it
9 to 5, yeah they got you where they want you
There's a better life, and you dream about it, don't you?
It's a rich man's game no matter what they call it
And you spend your life puttin' money in his wallet
9 to 5, whoa what a way to make a livin'
Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it
9 to 5, yeah they got you where they want you
There's a better life, and you dream about it, don't you?
It's a rich man's game no matter what they call it
And you spend your life puttin' money in his wallet
9 to 5, working 9 to 5

Take This Job and Shove It
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
My woman done left and took all the reasons
I was working for
You better not try to stand in my way
'Cause I'm walkin' out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
I been workin' in this factory
For nigh on fifteen years
All this time I watched my woman
Drownin' in a pool of tears
And I've seen a lot of good folks die
That had a lot of bills to pay
I'd give the shirt right offa' my back
If I had the guts to say
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
My woman done left and took all the reasons
I was workin' for
You better not try to stand in my way
'Cause I'm walkin' out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain't workin' here no more
Well that foreman, he's a regular dog
The line boss, he's a fool
Got a brand new flattop haircut
Lord, he thinks he's cool
One of these days I'm gonna' blow my top
And that sucker, he's gonna' pay
Lord I can't wait to see their faces
When I get the nerve to say
Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more
My woman done left and took all the reasons
I was workin for
You better not try to stand in my way
'Cause I'm walkin' out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain't workin' here no more
Take this job and shove it

Sixteen Tons

Tennessee Earnie Ford

Some people say a man is made outta mud
A poor man's made outta muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
A mind that's a-weak and a back that's strong
You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store
I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine
I picked up my shovel and I walked to the mine
I loaded sixteen tons of number nine coal
And the straw boss said "Well, a-bless my soul"
You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store
I was born one mornin', it was drizzlin' rain
Fightin' and trouble are my middle name
I was raised in the canebrake by an ol' mama lion
Can't no-a high-toned woman make me walk the line
You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store
If you see me comin', better step aside
A lotta men didn't, a lotta men died
One fist of iron, the other of steel
If the right one don't a-get you, then the left one will
You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I don't know what universe people are living in when they think massive tax cuts for the rich, environmental deregulation and gutted health care are good for the working man.

How did 'working people' grow convinced that the road to prosperity is by begging huge corporations that do not give a sh!t about them to enlist them into perpetual wage slavery?

Working people should have loftier ambitions.

I don't need no gubmint to take care of me!

Let's give tax breaks to mega-corps so they can take better care of us...
