Chick-fil-A banned from second airport in two weeks

I have been to Chick-Fil-A twice. It was good but nothing to write home about. Pretty garden variety stuff. However, it is refreshing to see that the folks around here are not politicizing their existence. Three of them have opened in the last 2 years and there was only one very small protest at the beginning.

I've never witnessed any disruption at a Chick-fil-a (as I drove past).

However, you can't argue with authorities not wanting them; an airport wants a business that is

going to feed people - not step on a soapbox and start preaching morality.

Chick-fil-a might refuse service because they don't like sexual orientation as religious nutter bakers did with the wedding cake.

That is not why they refused them to open... they refused because they don't open on Sunday's.

Interesting.

It is interesting --- my religious reasons for authorities rejecting Chick-fil-a were right on target.

Protesting them and constantly complaining about them in the media/social media helps Chick-Fil-A. It draws attention to them.

You would think they would more on to the next protest whatever that was by now.

Just a guess BUT they're going to help Trump get re-elected...who in their right mind would want to be associated with fruits like that ?

ultraliberals are not happy unless they are obsessing about something.

Q:  Why did the ultraliberals cross the road  ?

A: To get to the other side of the protest.

It's silly to ban Chik-Fil-et from anywhere.

We all know they cling to their religious superstitions, and have some kind of bizarre hatred for our own American Consumer LGBTQ Community, and they will die-off eventually due to being associated with hatred and bigotry and the ugliness of everything Trump, UNLESS THEY ADAPT.

We can all look forward to enjoying a little back-pedaling from the RIGHT, and the eventual, profits-preserving "evolutionary thinking" Chik-Fil-et will claim happened to their Corporate Strategy that will come, as the writing on the Cultural Wall makes it impossible for them to grow, over the next decade.

So for now...It accomplishes little but to make them into some kind of martyr for the ALT-Right by "boycotting" them and giving them any kind of notoriety.

Why post nasty Locker-Room material that is only get your knees taken-out by a dirty, retaliatory knee-spearing when the ref is looking the other direction, at the END of a game you've already turned into a complete rout?

FACT: The Culture War has already been won by the forward-thinking Progressive Left, as has historically proven to be the case on most issues.

We should all just follow old Raider Ted Hendricks wise advice:

"We're up on these nasty bastards by 28 points. There's only 3 minutes left before Madden gives us 3 days off. So keep your head on a swivel, and avoid dog-piles."

There's no need for SYMBOLIC Culture War cheap-shots when you are WINNING.

This is a game of attrition, folks, and we OWN the youngest 4 generations of Americans.

So sit back, pass the popcorn, and enjoy the 4th Quarter.

Because a comeback that forces Overtime is now an impossibility for the dwindling, obsolescing RIGHT.

Put a cleat into them.

For the second time in two weeks, Chick-fil-A has been blocked from opening a location at an airport.

Plans for a Chick-fil-A restaurant at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport in New York were nixed late last week, a New York state lawmaker said.

Democratic Assemblyman Sean Ryan of Buffalo said the airport's food vendor notified him that they would not add a Chick-fil-A restaurant to the food court.

Ryan applauded the decision, saying that the owners of the fast-food chain have a history of supporting and funding anti-LGBTQ organizations.

“The views of Chick-fil-A do not represent our state or the Western New York community, and businesses that support discrimination have no place operating in taxpayer-funded public facilities,” he said in a statement.

In late March, the San Antonio City Council voted against allowing Chick-fil-A to open a restaurant at San Antonio International Airport, over what it called the company's "legacy of anti-LGBT behavior."

Earlier last month, ThinkProgress published a report based on newly released tax filings that claimed Chick-fil-A donated $1.8 million to anti-LGBTQ groups in 2017, including one that allegedly bars employees from "homosexual acts."

Chick-fil-A said in a statement that “recent coverage about Chick-fil-A continues to drive an inaccurate narrative about our brand."

"We want to make it clear that our sole focus is on providing delicious food and welcoming everyone – not being a part of a national political conversation," the statement said. "We do not have a political or social agenda. More than 145,000 people from different backgrounds and beliefs represent the Chick-fil-A brand. We embrace all people, regardless of religion, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity.“

Chick-Fil-A Is Welcomed To Toronto With Both Long Lines And Loud Protesters

Liberation TO, a Toronto-based organization dedicated to achieving "total nonhuman and human animal liberation" organized the demonstration in partnership with The 519, a local LGBTQ2 advocacy group.

"Chick-fil-A has a history of being anti-LGBTQ2 and donating money to oppressive organizations. They are also speciesist and use chickens for profit," Liberation TO wrote on Facebook. "We are here to put a stop to that. We are here to end all oppression."

..."We have sympathy for the gay community, we love the gay community, bu we would never commend anyone for shouting people down," Charles McVety, a Canadian Christian evangelical leader, continued. "This is school yard bullying tactics and we are against bullying."

..."We're excited to see many guests already in line this morning in anticipation of opening our doors," a spokesperson for Chick-fil-A told CTV News. "We respect people's rights to share their opinions and want all Torontonians to know they are welcome … Our focus is on offering a welcoming and respectful environment for our guests and team members and we encourage people to give us a try."

Nobody is banning Chik-fila.

Locations that need restaurants serving food every day are banning those that refuse to serve it.

I can't believe you used the racist slur Uncle Tom.

"Five Texas fans of Chick-fil-A have filed a lawsuit against the city of San Antonio for its decision to ban the chicken-centric chain from opening up shop in the local airport," reports Fox News. "On Sept. 5, plaintiffs Patrick Von Dohlen, Brian Greco, Kevin Jason Khattar, Michael Knuffke and Daniel Petri filed suit against the city under S.B. 1978, otherwise known as the 'Save Chick-fil-A Bill.'"

Earlier this year, the San Antonio city council voted to ban Chick-fil-A from opening up shop in the city's international airport because the company previously espoused traditional views on marriage.

...The "Save Chick-fil-A Bill" was signed into law by Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott this past June and bars government institutions from harming businesses merely for their religious beliefs or for donating to religious organizations. More on the lawsuit from Fox News:

In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs pushed for the court to declare that the city of San Antonio “violated and continues to violate” the law by banning Chick-fil-A from the San Antonio airport and issue an injunction to block the city and airport shop operator Paradies Lagardère from banning the chain at the air hub in the future. Furthermore, the plaintiffs also hope to issue another injunction to have a Chick-fil-A open at the airport and issue an order to stop the city from "taking any adverse action against Chick-fil-A or any other person or entity, which is based wholly or partly on that person or entity's support for religious organizations that oppose homosexual behavior” and receive attorney’s fees and other relief.

In a statement on Monday, Jonathan Saenz, president of the conservative group Texas Values Action, said the bullying against Chick-fil-A by San Antonio has given people no choice but to take legal action. "The continued religious ban on Chick-fil-A by the San Antonio City Council has left citizens with no choice but to take this case to court," said Saenz, according to The Texas Tribune. "

...Laura Mayes, chief communications officer for the city of San Antonio, told The Texas Tribune, however, that the lawsuit was merely a "political agenda." (Old Mack adds: DAHA)

The organized targeting of the chicken sandwich empire began in 2012 when company founder Dan Cathy expressed support for traditional one-man/one-woman marriage, prompting boycotts across the country from LGBTQ activists.

Chick-fil-A doesn't mind their business. They fund anti-LGBTQ policies. Many find that unpalatable.
