That sounds like heaven....any goats or sheep.....tasty lil lambs?

No goats ...

 sheep...

 turkeys...

chickens ....

Roosters... my wife won't let me kill even though I suggest it every early morning ...lol.

A few wild boar...

And a healthy herd of Black Angus.

The last goat we had I accidentally killed with a screw driver...

The little  F ucker tried to eat out of my wife's herb garden and I threw a screwdriver trying to scare it away and it got him in they eye ....he died instantly .....

I was in the dog house for at least a month because she loved that goat ....

So much so... she made me bury him in the back forty ...instead of letting me prep him for the BBQ...

We agreed shortly after no more goats....

But I’ve been told- and instructed that cast iron is not to be used above med heat.. right from Le  Creuset - soooo

Well...yes and no.

Traditional cast iron can take extremely high heat.  Enameled cast iron (say Le Creuset for example) probably shouldn't go above medium heat (maybe medium high if you are crunched for time and trying to heat the pan).

I have seen an infrared thermometer read over 500 on a cast iron skillet without issue.
