That doesn't make society a better place.

Yep, they have come a long way since the summer of 69 when theIr message was peace and love and not war.

Now they are polar opposites to that message ...

And society is suffering because of their shift ....

That is just some crap you picked up somewhere.

The Green Agenda is not a set of laws that anyone expects to pass 100%.

It is a goal to strive toward. Airliners today are much more efficient than they were 10 years ago. If the govt. gives incentives in the form of carbon taxes to impel technology to make them even more efficient that is what will be done.

Hey Xavier..

What do you think about giving $$$ to people unwilling to work?

That's another one of her ideas

It is hardly one of her ideas. This was tried in Manitoba decades ago, you can look it up.

What happens when 90% of the jobs people currently have are replaced by automation and robots?

Because we are growing ever closer to that time.

Benefits to workers are being cut daily. The college where I taught ignores tenure and has eliminated the entire pension system.

A-holes like you are not going to be the ones that own those robots.

And of course, this is just more of your repulsive yet typical whataboutism.

It’s important to note a key piece of this report’s methodology. The report only includes corporations that were consistently profitable over the eight-year period from 2008 to 2015. In other words, if a firm had a loss in even one year, it is excluded from this report. By leaving out corporations that had losses (which means they wouldn’t pay any tax), this report provides a straightforward picture of average effective tax rates paid by our nation’s biggest and consistently profitable companies. Two hundred and fifty-eight Fortune 500 companies were consistently profitable in each of the eight years between 2008 and 2015. Most of these companies were included in our February 2014 report, The Sorry State of Corporate Taxes, which looked at the years 2008 through 2012. There are new companies in the report, including Netflix, which entered the Fortune 500 after 2013. In addition, some companies were excluded from the study because they lost money in 2013, 2014 or 2015.

and they used rules that Congress set up... next

  • As a group, the 258 corporations paid an effective federal income tax rate of 21.2 percent over the eight-year period, slightly over half the statutory 35 percent tax rate.
  • Eighteen of the corporations, including General Electric, International Paper, Priceline.com and PG&E, paid no federal income tax at all over the eight-year period. A fifth of the corporations (48) paid an effective tax rate of less than 10 percent over that period.
  • Of those corporations in our sample with significant offshore profits, more than half paid higher corporate tax rates to foreign governments where they operate than they paid in the United States on their U.S. profits.

except that the people working for these companies pays federal income tax

also to note 47% of people don't pay federal income tax and some of the sponges off the system.

Are they breaking the law? no

If congress sees this as a problem they have the power to remedy it, Warren knows it , Sanders knows this, Kamala Harris knows this, Booker knows this

and AOC is too stupid to understand this

It's hilarious because even the leaders of her own party have said as much ....

What AOC is ...is a distraction and that's about it....

AOC pointing out the danger of bazillionaires taking over our elections with what amounts to bribery is NOT irrelevant.

Z is so effing stupid that she expects people who say that we need to cut way down on CO2 emissions to be banned from airliners.

yes. American jobs have been lost to automation , robotics and computerisation..The political elite of course are blaming Chinese etc. This protects the people profiting without putting something back into the U.s system.. so a super rich tax is in order.

Yeah, right. The Founding fathers saw her coming.

The Electoral College had NOTHING TO DO with her  being elected to Congress, fool.

The Electoral College is a stupid anachronism that has installed a sociopathic semiliterate ignoramus in the White House against the will of the people.

Those listed offer no specifics and have a pie-in-the-sky feel: “Move America to 100% clean and renewable energy;” “clean air and water;” “net-zero greenhouse gas emissions;” “invest in infrastructure;” and the extremely vague “promote justice.”

These are followed by more vague, sometimes bizarre suggestions to achieving these goals, including: upgrading or replacing every building in the country; meeting 100% of power needs with clean energy (without any timeline specified); making air travel obsolete; completely replacing current transportation methods with green ones.

But the truth is your feelings will be short lived....

AOC doesn't represent the majority of Americans which is why she is a media darling and a point of ridicule.
