China: 'We actually care about the global economy, as well as our workers... and we want this destructive trade war to end!'

Trump: 'Fvck the farmers, fvck the economy, fvck the stock market, fvck everyone... I don't give a sh1t what happens to anyone else, I'M RICH'

personreal/Breitbart: 'We're WINNING!'

Well, this is interesting:

https://www.ibtimes.com/us-china-trade-war-has-no-winner-additional-tariffs-hurt-both-sides-2747366

Quote

Since the tariffs went into effect July 6, the predicted results were: (1) retaliatory tariffs by China against U.S. products imported into China, (2) increased transshipments of products made in China through a second country that eventually are shipped to the U.S. disguised as being made in the second country, and (3) increased costs to U.S. consumers of Chinese products.

What was not predicted by the Trump administration was that the amount of Chinese products shipped to the U.S. actually increased during the second half of 2018. There were other unexpected results, as well. Some Chinese companies invested in new companies in Southeast Asia to produce the same products there that were being produced in China. When a company owned by the Chinese government invests in a company located in, for example, Vietnam, the product manufactured in Vietnam enters the U.S. without the additional Chinese tariff.

In other words, when the U.S. importer declares the country of origin of the item to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, it identifies the country where the item was made, not the national ownership of the producing company. Moreover, if the Chinese company opens a factory in a country with which the U.S. has a free trade agreement, such as South Korea, the product made in South Korea enters the U.S. duty-free.

So, President Donald Trump’s “leveling the playing field” policy has failed. In fact, the result is the opposite of what was intended: China is increasingly investing in factories in other countries to produce items for export to the U.S.

Oops.

Now about that TPP...

I find it extremely hard to believe that you keep bringing this up, seeing as you were so wrong about it and you were humiliated over and over.

Either you're not bright enough to realize it, or you're taking a page from Trump and doubling down on the humiliation in the hopes that it will become a win for you.

For the 25th time, the tariff cuts are NOT about capitulating to the US, they are about opening China up to OTHER countries.

The US benefits from a FEW of the cuts, but the vast majority of the tariffs against US products are still in place.

EG: They will 'concede' to buy more soybeans until they manage to negotiate enough deals with other countries to replace the US supply.

It can't happen overnight, but in time other countries can change their production levels to accommodate the demand, permanently reducing Chinese dependence on the US.

http://en.mercopress.com/2018/07/11/china-confident-it-can-replace-us-soybeans-with-supplies-from-south-america

You think Brazil is going to pass up this opportunity, or after the boom, they're going to give that trade partnership back to the US?  Is China going to give that relationship back to the US? Hey... what about the US? Are American consumers going to stop buying stuff that was made in China, or made by Chinese-owned manufacturing sites in Vietnam or Korea?

The US bankrupted Russia by forcing them to spend on their military... China can apparently bankrupt the US by forcing them to perpetually give grants to soybean farmers.

China has many problems of it's own at the moment which the trade war is affecting ...The two biggest are that the Chinese are starting to lose faith in xi Jinping and are questioning the government's ability to come out on top which is causing many Chinese companies to leave China at an alarming rate.

And the second is the chinese tech sector which is hurting terribly because of the events surrounding Huawei and because of the threat of Western tech companies threatening to pull out of China completely.

Your analysis that the Chinese can bankrupt us by forcing us to provide grants to soybean farmers is not only pure stupidity but outright fearmongering.

And as for Brazil....

Their new President has the same outlook regarding China as ours does ....and has stated this throughout his campaign.

Oh FFS I obviously wasn't seriously saying that the government would even consider giving $12 billion handouts to farmers until the end of time... I am mocking the stupidity of any situation where this actually needs to happen and an entire market is essentially wiped out because of a single man's incompetence. The soybean market will simply implode, leaving a lot of bitter farmers in the red states.

I have no idea where you are getting this idea that the Chinese are losing faith in Xi JiPing or questioning the government's ability to 'come out on top', whatever that means. I DO know that the Chinese, like most other people, despise Trump and do not want to be seen as capitulating to him.

What Chinese companies are leaving China?? I honestly think you are just making that up.  What companies?? If it's happening at such an alarming rate, what's with the secrecy? Is it part of the media conspiracy against Trump? More likely, it's all in your mind.

Oh and it seems that Huawei is actually set to become the world's top brand, replacing Samsung:

https://www.gizchina.com/2019/01/02/huawei-may-defeat-samsung-next-year-to-become-the-worlds-top-smartphone-brand/

Again, I think you're just making all of this up.

China doesn't NEED the American companies anymore... they are already making the shift from manufacturing-based economy to service based. So with the world's top smartphone brand and Trump and the Eurofascists breaking up the west... why do they need to worry about losing Apple?

And he's been shown that his talking point is a lie, but he just keeps repeating it, hoping somehow he will look less stupid by repetition.

Soybeans jump after China agrees to buy 'substantial' US ag products

Oh, and since you brought up Brazil... they can't handle the demand.

Soy up on crop stress in Brazil, hopes for U.S.-China talks

It's amazing you can remember to breathe without someone reminding you.

It's not a lie, retard... you are just too stupid to get it.

China can't control the weather in Brazil... but they can lower tariffs on soy alternatives, which is exactly what they have been doing.

Agreeing not to impose more tariffs doesn't mean that tariffs are being dropped altogether.

The trade war is not over, nobody has won, nobody is backing down, the markets are moving based on pure speculation.

They're not going to stop forging relationships with other countries because of a ceasefire.

You've been shown over and over that China is reducing their tariffs on our products, and all you do is repeat your lie that this isn't happening.

Trump has kicked China's ass, and their economy is taking a huge hit because of it.

Did you see Apple's announcement of their poor earnings, due to sales in China that have stopped due to their failing economy?

Somehow I doubt it.

Maybe it's because of the boycott?

https://appleinsider.com/articles/18/12/24/apple-boycott-by-chinese-firms-in-support-of-huawei-is-escalating

And I don't even know what to say about the tariffs anymore.

By this point, most people would have admitted they were wrong or at least moved on, but you keep doubling down on it.

You are seriously incredible. I have never before come across anyone so incredibly impervious to facts and reality.

So, you're saying Apple is lying to it's investors?

And I realize you don't know what to say about tariffs, because you can't accept the simple truth when it is shown you.
