STUDY: White Liberals Talk Down To People Of Color
December 6, 2018| by Donn Marten

Not that it will merit much coverage by CNN and the rest of the Liberal mainstream media but a new study suggests that Democrats seem to believe that people of color are stupid.

According to research by the Yale School Of Management, white liberals deliberately dumb down their vocabulary when speaking to members of minority groups. This is even more so the case when it comes to Democrat politicians which flies in the face of their posturing as alleged champions for the oppressed and is the utmost of hypocrisy.

The idea that cynical pols would resort to such chicanery in order to appeal to the critical minority vote isn’t exactly a jaw-dropper; after all, failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was criticized on more than one occasion for faking a southern accent when speaking to crowds below the Mason-Dixon Line.

But the results of such a study in these dark times of divisiveness and bitterness showing that Dems are acting in such a blatantly condescending manner could cause even more African-Americans to #WalkAway from the party prior to the 2020 elections.

Via The Washington Times, “White liberals ‘patronize’ minorities, study finds”:.

White liberals present themselves as less competent when addressing minorities, while conservatives use the same vocabulary no matter what the race of their audience, according to a newly released study.

Yale and Princeton researchers found that white Democratic presidential candidates and self-identified liberals played down their competence when speaking to minorities, using fewer words that conveyed accomplishment and more words that expressed warmth.

On the other hand, there were no significant differences in how white conservatives, including Republican presidential candidates, spoke to white versus minority audiences.

“White liberals self-present less competence to minorities than to other Whites — that is, they patronize minorities stereotyped as lower status and less competent,” according to the study’s abstract.

AND
The study flies in the face of a standard talking point of the political left — that white conservatives are racist — while raising questions about whether liberals are perpetuating racial stereotypes about blacks being less competent than whites.

The paper, which is slated for publication in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, first examined speeches by Republican and Democratic presidential candidates to mostly white and mostly minority audiences dating back 25 years.

Ms. Dupree and Princeton’s Susan Fiske analyzed the text for “words related to competence” such as “assertive” and “competitive” and “words related to warmth” such as “supportive” and “compassionate.”

“The team found that Democratic candidates used fewer competence-related words in speeches delivered to mostly minority audiences than they did in speeches delivered to mostly white audiences,” said the Yale press release. “The difference wasn’t statistically significant in speeches by Republican candidates.”

Additional details according to Yale Insights:

Racial bias can put people of color at a disadvantage when interviewing for a job, buying a house, or interacting with the police. New research suggests that bias may also shape daily interactions between racial minorities and white people, even those whites who tend to be less biased.

According to new research by Cydney Dupree, assistant professor of organizational behavior at Yale SOM, white liberals tend to downplay their own verbal competence in exchanges with racial minorities, compared to how other white Americans act in such exchanges. The study is scheduled for publication in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

While many previous studies have examined how people who hold racial bias behave in multi-racial settings, few have studied how whites who are more well-intentioned interact with people of other races. “There’s less work that explores how well-intentioned whites try to get along with racial minorities,” Dupree says. “We wanted to know their strategies for increasing connections between members of different social groups—and how effective these strategies are.”

Dupree and her co-author, Susan Fiske of Princeton University, began by analyzing the words used in campaign speeches delivered by Democratic and Republican presidential candidates to different audiences over the years. They scanned 74 speeches delivered by white candidates over a 25-year period.

It’s definitely dishonest and some may even say that it’s racist but this is who they are.

Last time I checked a color chart, white was a color of people. Now intellect has no color or energy of its own, a parasite claiming to be larger than the host supplying the energy to think, calculate, compare, navigate, learn to recite, imitate, or adapt to life never the same details twice.
