you seemed to have ignored the three blue downward spikes in food stamp growth that you touted when produced by a republican.  color me all sorts of surprised by THAT particular little display of your partisan hypocrisy.

I didn't ignore anything.  I'm laughing at you and benson not being able to read a graph.

Why did food stamp usage plummet every time a Republican Congress took over?

I'm sure that was just a coincidence.

It's amusing that liberals think MORE people on government handouts is a good thing.

The recession ended in June, before Obama did anything about it.

Facts are stubborn things when you're a liberal.

I can read the graph.  food stamp use had been dropping for three years under Obama.... it continued to drop under the clown because the economy was heading in the right direction (growing) when he took over from Obama.... unlike when Obama took over from Dubya. See how that works?

Yea, evidently not.    Of course food stamp usage had been dropping... because the Republican Congress cut it off.

Over the screams of how they were killing poor people.

Now you  want credit for it.    rolling laughter emoticon

Typical liberal.

And no, the economy wasn't "heading in the right direction" when Trump took over, it was stagnant for 2 years.

Educate yourself, I'm tired of doing it for you.

growth is growth.  the economy wasn't "stagnant".  It was growing.

And it always cracks me up that whenever the economy is good under a democrat, you guys give the credit to the republican congress.

funny stuff.

Poor benson doesn't even know what a recession is, much less when the last one ended.

Here, let me help you out:

The Recession Has (Officially) Ended - The New York Times

https://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/20/the-recession-has-officially-ended/

Sep 20, 2010 - The United States economy has lost more jobs than it has added since the recovery began in June a year ago. The recession officially ended in June 2009, according to the Business Cycle Dating Committee of the National Bureau of Economic Research

Economic growth has stagnated under Obama

Perhaps this explains the litany of economic failures during the Obama years. We have had $8 trillion of new debt, minimum wage increases, Obamacare, an $800 billion stimulus plan with “shovel-ready” projects, tax increases on the rich, more than $100 billion in green energy subsidies, auto company and union pension bailouts, reregulation of the financial industry and banks, and a Fed that has manufactured near zero short term interest rates for seven years with up to $4 trillion of bond acquisitions. All of these were designed primarily to redistribute income, and so is it a shock that they haven’t produced growth?

You can ask until you are blue in the face.   You can't change history.  The recession ended in June, 2009.

Before Obama did anything about it.

January 13, 2008

"The recession-deniers were muzzled by a horrendous last two weeks of December, and the gloom-and-doomers are now out in force. Their key arguments:

* Plummeting housing will now drag down the rest of the economy.

*The "bad debt" problem is not just "sub-prime" folks who should never have have taken out mortgages in the first place. It includes credit card debt, "high quality" mortgages, car loans, and other leverage that have recently become a consumer way of life.

*Pressure on consumers is leading to a reduction in consumer spending (70% of economy), which, in turn, will lead to a reduction in spending by companies that sell stuff to consumers.

*The question now is not "will there be a recession?" but "how bad will it get?"

*The most optimistic forecasts in a NYT gloom-and-doom round-up are for three crappy quarters, regardless of what the Fed does. Less optimistic forecasts suggest that we are, well, screwed.

After blowing the last downturn, we've been worried this one since last summer. We also suspect that, given the importance of housing to the economy and debt to consumer spending,
the recession will be deeper and more prolonged than people think."

"President Trump* has inherited an economy that set a record Friday with 77 consecutive months of job growth, or, as he put it, a mess.”

The bad news for Trump is that there isnt much he can do to speed this up.

Infrastructure spending would certainly help, but that's reportedly been pushed off for at least a year, and, given Republican priorities, might not happen at all. Tax cuts for the rich, meanwhile, don’t have much bang for the buck, stimulative-wise.

Other than that, it’s not an exaggeration to say that the extent of his economic policymaking has been taking credit for business decisions that companies had already made, in some cases years ago. That might get a lot of retweets, but it wont create any jobs.

The good news for Trump, though, is that there isnt much he can do to slow this down, either. The economy has its own momentum, and it’s hard to see what could knock it off.

All Trump has to do is nothing....which even an administration as dysfunctional as his might be able to do."

America fundamentally changed from defending liberty as a self sustaining nation to serving human rights at ignoring self evident results globally. Yes I understand what changed between Clinton to Bush, Bush to Obama, Obama to Trump.

so much so I understood the GUB's 4 years To Clinton's 8.

Oh, your graph doesn't show the compounding things that went on, you only reflect on the talking point you factualized by ignoring the other 7/8 of everything that took place for 30 years.

Funny you just figured him out, that's his Game. In fact that's his whole life.
