North Carolina is evolving as Liberals move down there for the warm weather, beautiful varied landscape, and bigger bang for their buck, gradually taking on the staunch, deeply red, enormously racist Old Boys that have dominated forever.

It might be the most interesting state in the Union right now.

You think this is good? This is horrible and they are not the majority. They are vandals that need to be charged and tried. The majority speaking would be those who voted to remove it. You leftists are getting more and more radical each day. The rule of law means nothing to you. What you are advocating is mob rule.

What needed to happen is the people who own the statue need to decide if it should stay or go. If it is a public statue then the citizens of that city or county need to vote. I personally would vote to remove it.  We don't need statues of traitorous democrats. Remove the statue and put it in a museum.

So tearing down property is evolving? Why can't the people have a vote on the statue? That is how we do it in a civilize society. If you ask me, this type of behavior is regression to uncivilized man.

Racism needs to be rejected like the societal plague that it is.

Why does history scare the left so much they feel the need to hide from it?

their methodology is from ancient text and since they reinterpret everything every decade after a couple of generations pass, nobody remembers what the original message was about.

Kind of like the constitution the sept 1789 meant one thing and the jan 1791 changed it to validate social rights over personal liberties..

I understand the Police hope to bring charges.

ultraliberals don't understand anything about private property...unless it is theirs.

This statue has been an annoyance to people for a very, very long time. Then the NC Legislature passed some law to protect it, and the demonstrators no doubt said, "That does it: let's show them what we think of their damned statue. They may or may arrest and prosecute someone, but the odds they put Silent Sam back where he was-- not gonna happen.

For years, NC had been Virginia, Junior. Then they developed the Research Triangle around Chapel Hill and Charlotte became an actual serious city. So NC is divided between the tobacco growin' yokels and other hicks (like Blue Devil) and the intellectuals in the center of the state,

Why should we honor losers of a war over slavery?

Let's examine that logic.

Do you not know that it is Republicans who opposed slavery back then?

It was DemocRATS who supported slavery.

So why should anyone honor DemocRATS now?

Just saying ...

This is typical Marxism and reeks of a banana republic.  Even so, I don't care what political bent you are - tearing down history is the best way to invite ruin.  These things happened - you destroy the statues, you kill the culture, then you burn the books.  That's how it's done.  It happened, I'd prefer it didn't happen again, but it DID happen.  It will happen again, and destroying statues and burning books is the best way to let it happen again.  It will just be under different names with different people.

They should round up these statues around a state museum and  describe them for what they were to future generations. Why not?

Because they'll burn the museum down next.

Today's Democrats are against slavery, They are against Confederate statues, too.

Republicans are the ones trying to prevent Blacks and other poor people from voting.

So republicans opposed slavery 160 years ago so they should keep statues of those who fought to keep slavery???

That is an example of what is called the Logical Fallacy of the Slippery Slope. "If we do X, then they will do Y."

What the state needs to do is to ask the protestors to help design the museum along with the traditionalists.

Lemme put it this way - Caesar slaughtered about 100,000 "Swiss" before they were Swiss mind you.  We know Caesar wasn't exactly the best dude according to our own standards these days.  You wanna forget the fact that he admitted in his own book that he killed 100,000 of them?  You wanna tear down his statues and forget he did what he did?
