Epstein and Clinton, or the tale of two searches

I have written about the scumbag Jeffrey Epstein before; in any case, he’s all over the news again so you can get an update elsewhere. While everyone’s favourite ex-President, Bill Clinton, has flown on Epstein’s Lolita Express jet 26 times, the mainstream media is tying itself in pretzels to demonstrate that somehow Epstein and Donald Trump have been the bestest of friends. You can, of course, guess why – Orange Man Bad, and anything that makes Orange Man look even badder is good, even if not true.

The Big Tech is there too with its magic algorithms. Compare the search results for images on the niche Duck Duck Go

epsteinclinton1.jpg

with those on Google

epsteinclinton2.jpg

Notice anything?

Yep, despite the search being for images of Epstein and Clinton, five images in the top three rows of Google Image search somehow also manage to put Trump in there.

This is, no doubt, a complete accident and coincidence.

Just saying ...

Dennis Prager Testifies at Congress: Google's Censorship Explanation Is 'So Absurd As To Be Hilarious'

Before the Senate on Tuesday, Dennis Prager, the founder of the conservative behemoth PragerU and its affiliated YouTube Channels, railed against the video-sharing service for restricting access to roughly one-fifth of his video content for being “mature contents” considered inappropriate for younger audiences.

Prager testified that YouTube routinely suppresses conservative perspectives such as his on its website and bars “restricted mode” users from viewing roughly twenty percent of the 320 videos uploaded by his channel. Censored content includes videos on the Ten Commandments and the history of Israel, according to Prager.

“We have repeatedly asked Google why our videos are restricted. No explanation is ever given," he said. "But, of course, we know why. Because they come from a conservative perspective."

"Restricted mode" is an optional feature on YouTube that purportedly filters out “mature content” that is inappropriate for children and young people or institutions like churches and schools. Google, which owns YouTube, does not make clear what exactly constitutes “mature content” on its website.

Karan Bhatia, a Google executive who also testified at the Monday hearing, explained that the feature is supposed to tag “war, rape, and things like that.”

Bhatia explained during the hearing that YouTube tagged PragerU’s ten commandment video specifically because it “contains references to murder … [and] potentially Nazism and World War Two, perhaps something along those lines.”

The Ten Commandments video in question considers the moral and religious arguments surrounding murder to explain the importance of God’s command. It also contains a passing reference to Nazi and Communist killings to argue atheism does not prevent murder. The Ten Commandments video is still unwatchable for “restricted mode” users as of this article’s publication.

Prager said that Bhatia’s explanation for suppressing his video was “so absurd as to be hilarious.” He promised to upload a video without any reference to “thou shalt not murder” to get around the restrictions.

“I feel like I’m in a Monty Python film when [Bhatia] says something like that. The only possible explanation for all of this is they don’t like PragerU because we’re a very, very influential conservative voice touching a lot of lives. There’s no other explanation.”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed sympathy for Prager, sarcastically pointing out, “You would think we would want young people hearing ‘thous shalt not murder.’”

PragerU was founded in 2009 to consider various political, economic, and philosophical issues from a conservative perspective. Prager said the YouTube channel, which now has 2.2 million subscribers and nearly 750 million views, aims to inform youths in America and the world-at-large — a mission that is hurt by this type of censorship.

“Vast number of parents have filters — totally understandable, given how much junk there is on the internet,” he said. “It not only hurts us in that that family cannot see that video. It hurts us because then it is a statement by Google that Prager University produces videos on the moral level of pornography.”

YouTube’s policy notes that the site will take down porn or any “sexually gratifying” content from its website, but says some “fetish content” may only be age-restricted. Restricted mode, however, does not necessarily flag content because it is pornographic, as it polices all “mature contents” more generally. Bhatia, the Google executive, noted many videos barred in restricted mode are “perfectly acceptable to watch.”

Bhatia downplayed Prager’s concerns of censorship, arguing that the vast majority of users can watch PragerU videos without restriction. But while only two percent of accounts have restricted mode turned on, Prager noted that many restricted mode users are young people — the very demographic that PragerU hopes to appeal to.

As a result of YouTube’s restriction, Prager sued the video-hosting company in January for “continuing to unlawfully restrict and restrain speech and expression,” Fox reported.

“Do you think the secretary-general of NATO, or the former prime-ministers of Norway, Canada, and Spain, or the late Charles Krauthammer, or Philip Hamburger, distinguished professor of law at Columbia Law School, would make a video for an extreme or hate-filled site?” he wrote in his testimony. “The idea is not only preposterous; it is a smear.”

Documents submitted by Google as part of Prager’s lawsuit, and introduced in the hearing by Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI), complicates the picture painted by Prager. The document shows that restricted mode has flagged a much higher percentage of content produced by left-leaning accounts — such as Vox, Buzzfeed, and The Young Turk — compared to PragerU. For instance, 42.53 percent of videos produced by NowThis World are flagged by restricted mode.

“If Google’s treatment of PragerU is meant to show Google’s anti-conservative bias, Google isn’t doing a very good job with it,” Hirono said.

“I’m really not understanding Mr. Prager’s concerns,” she added later.

The senator did not give Prager the time to respond to her confusion.

Dennis Prager is a national treasure.

For him to be censored by Google and Youtube is a disgrace.

Maybe it’s time to do something about both.

YouTube Rejects Ad From Veterans Ministry Over “Unacceptable” Keyword: “Christian”

keyword.png

As we have been saying for years now, Big Tech’s brazen anti-Christian and anti-Conservative thought policing must stop.

Earlier this week, YouTube rightfully came under fire when the proprietors of a faith-based ministry for military veterans were barred from running an ad for their foundation because it contained just one unacceptable keyword: “Christian.”

According to Chad Robichaux, a U.S. Marine veteran and founder of the Mighty Oaks Foundation, his marketing team recently attempted to run the ad for his “Mighty Oaks Show,” which features interviews with vets and Christian content geared toward their unique strengths and struggles after service.

But, because they dared to mention the word “Christian”, the ad was deemed “unacceptable”:

According to Life Site News, the ad promoted an episode of the show guest-starring Darrin Dick, director and producer of the documentary, “Unforgotten,” which portrays the life of Korean War veteran Harold Bauer, Dick’s grandfather, who had found “hope and healing in his Christian faith.”

“So one of the keywords to boost the ad,” Robichaux said in an interview with Faithwire, “was the word ‘Christian,’ which we use regularly. The ad was denied specifically because of the use of the word ‘Christian.’”

“This is the first time we’d seen this,” Robichaux said. “We called the (Google) helpline and they said that Google’s new criteria prohibited that word ‘Christian.’”

Regardless of anyone’s faith, or lack thereof, in our diverse nation, Robichaux rightly  notes that “this is a dangerous path for America to go down.”

And get this …

Quote

Shortly thereafter, one of YouTube’s official Twitter accounts responded, saying, “We know that religious beliefs are personal, so we don’t allow advertisers to target users on the basis of religion. Beyond that, we don’t have policies against advertising that includes religious terms like ‘Christian.’”

Next, however, in a very interesting twist, Robichaux exposed YouTube with the results of a little experiment he conducted, switching the word “Christian” for “Muslim.”

“We ran the exact same ad with the keyword ‘Muslim’ & it was approved but ‘Christian’ was not,” he stated. “Additionally, we’ve ran ads with the keyword ‘Christian’ for years. This year alone we had 150,000 impressions on that word in our ads. As per your support line, this is a new restriction.”

Needless to say, YouTube didn’t have a soft, politically-correct response to that one.

YouTube, Google (YouTube’s parent company), and other behemoths of Big Tech have been redoubling their subtle efforts of content censorship for some time now.

Google and YouTube have become the enemy within.

The enemy of a free country.

Project Veritas: Leaked Google Documents Prove Tech Giant is Censoring: Rush Limbaugh, Gateway Pundit, Newsbusters, MRCTV, Daily Caller, Michelle Malkin, etc.

In November 2018 The Guardian reported on  group of Google employees who published an open letter calling on their employer to cancel its plans to build a censored search engine for China.   Google employees were very upset that Google’s Project Dragonfly would allow the Chinese government to blacklist certain search terms.

But their blacklist operations were not just in China.

It is obvious that Google, Facebook and Twitter are using their own political blacklists to censor and diminish traffic to prominent conservative publishers and their supporters.

If you search Google for prominent conservative voices including: Mike Cernovich, Joe diGenova, Jack Posobiec or Gateway Pundit you will see hit pieces and biased attacks.

The Gateway Pundit is one of the largest, most accurate and most influential publishers in the country today.  But earlier this year if you searched Google for “Gateway Pundit” the first item that popped up was a hit piece on The Gateway Pundit followed by several more links that smeared our website.

You had to go to the fifth item before you could even find a link to our website.

On Wednesday Project Veritas released leaked documents from a Google insider that shows The Gateway Pundit, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Newsbusters, American Thinker, MRCTV, American Lookout, Twitchy, Daily Caller, Natural News, The Rebel Media, LifeNews, BizPac Review, YoungCons and many others are being targeted, censored, blacklisted and silenced by Google.

It doesn’t matter if you are pro-Tump or a Never Trumper– as long as you are conservative you made their list.

According to Project Veritas this is a “Manual list of sites” excluded from appearing as Google Now stories.

There need to be consequences.

Facebook Pulls Trump Campaign Ads Over Alleged Policy Violations

by Matt Margolis

Earlier this week, Facebook took down several Trump campaign ads over alleged violations of their advertising policies. They must have been terrible, horribly offensive ads, right? Heck, even I thought they must have been tasteless ads that were reasonably taken down... and then I saw one of the offensive ads:

womentrumpad.jpg

That's right. The above ad violated Facebook's advertising policies.

What did this and other offensive Trump ads do that was so terrible? They targeted women. The website Popular Information explains:

Quote

Facebook's advertising guidelines list thirty varieties of prohibited content. Number twelve on the list prohibits ads that target "personal attributes." Facebook says ads must not include "direct or indirect assertions or implications about a person’s... gender identity."

Trump's ad is clearly prohibited, but Facebook allowed it to run until an inquiry by Popular Information. "We've notified the campaign that the ads violate policy. They can’t continue to run unless fixed," a Facebook spokesperson told Popular Information.

According to a report from The Hill, it was Popular Information’s inquiry to Facebook that got the ad taken down. A spokesperson for Facebook told The Hill, “We've notified the campaign that the ads violate policy. They cannot continue to run unless fixed.”

So, let me get this straight. The Trump campaign runs an ad that says "The Women for Trump Coalition needs the support of strong Women like you" and somehow that’s so offensive that it violates Facebook’s ad policies?

Here’s the problem with this absurd policy. Facebook’s advertising platform allows users to target based on gender, age, location, and interests. As someone who has used Facebook advertising many times in the past to promote my books, I’m familiar with the platform. If you want to advertise on Facebook, one of the first things you have to do is determine what your target audience is.

Here’s the what you see when you do this:

FBaudience.png

If targeting women is a violation of Facebook advertising policies, why does Facebook allow advertisers to… target women? If you can create an audience for women, it stands to reason that you can create an ad that's designed to get clicks from women. At least I thought so. Apparently that "asserts or implies personal attributes,” like "direct or indirect assertions or implications about a person’s ... gender identity."

Can anyone explain what is so offensive about a campaign trying to build up a coalition of female voters? Barack Obama had an official “Women For Obama” campaign initiative in 2012. I guess things have become so politically correct now that such things can’t be done anymore? After checking a few different 2020 Democrat campaign sites, the use of coalitions such as “Women for…” “Latinos for…” “Coal Workers for…” “African Americans for…” “Unions for…” etc., that used to be common for campaigns are curiously absent. Though every campaign I checked does have its own “Pride” collection of apparel.

In today’s politically correct climate, targeting women for being women might offend people who identify as women… or something. Or perhaps Facebook is just coming up with any excuse it can to prevent Trump from running ads.

You tell me.

The social media giants have become a threat to a free and non-socialist America.  It's time to do something about them.

Facebook has banned The Epoch Times, a conservative news outlet that spent more money on pro-Trump Facebook advertisements than any group other than the Trump campaign, from any future advertising on the platform.

The decision follows an NBC News report that The Epoch Times had shifted its spending on Facebook in the last month, seemingly in an effort to obfuscate its connection to some $2 million worth of ads that promoted the president and conspiracy theories about his political enemies.

“Over the past year we removed accounts associated with the Epoch Times for violating our ad policies, including trying to get around our review systems,” a Facebook spokesperson said. “We acted on additional accounts today and they are no longer able to advertise with us.”

Damn right the social media giants are censoring conservatives.

Time to break them up, Trump.

They are a far more dangerous oligopoly than any that ever existed.

And THIS is why Facebook and the left fear the Epoch Times ...
