Any Rand lived communism before escaping to a more democratic life. I would say Ayn Rand is accurately predicting the evolution of socialism and communism correctly to its end. USSR is a great example of the failure of socialism and communism thought. She lived it and understood it all while not understanding any of the garbage of the social/communistic thought. Anybody that reads atlas shrug is educated on the short comings of socialism. Without incentive and exceptionalism of the individual person there is no expansion of wealth.

No replies? Guess communists can’t refute my post? Hard to refute truth and historical reality. Or, are liberals not energized? I know Bluedog is scared. I hope not of me. I know you blocked me once bud against all of the ideals of first amendment free speech. Facts and history are so inconvenient. Respond Bluedog or I will take over your little liberal site with an army of conservative capitalist. First and

last warning Bluedog.

If you read Atlas Shrugged,  then you know that the economic depression that the country was suffering was not in any way solved by  John Galt, Daphne Taggert or any of the other creatives geniuses holed up in Galt's Gulch. John Galt does give his humongously long and boring speech, in which he tells everyone how silly they were to mistreat the few creative geniuses. It is included in the second film of Atlas Shrugged, and you might manage  to listen to it in its entirety if you drink a case of Red Bull or some other energy drink.

WE the Living, Rand's firsty novel, based somewhat on  Rand's experiences in the USSR is a far more well written book. Maybe three of the characters are not so cardboardy as the ones in Atlas Shrugged.

Rand, and her husband, accepted Medicare and Social Security, even though she had advocated for the end of both programs

http://www.openculture.com/2016/12/when-ayn-rand-collected-social-security-medicare.html

Social Security and Medicare steal from “creators” and illegitimately redistribute their wealth. This was a "sublimely enticing argument for wealthy businessmen who had no interest whatever in the public interest....

Yet the taxpayers of America paid Rand's and Frank O'Connor's medical expenses." Randians have offered many convoluted explanations for what her critics see as sheer hypocrisy. We may or may not find them persuasive.I

In the simplest terms, Rand discovered at the end of her life that she was only human and in need of help. Rather than starve or drop dead—as she would have let so many others do—she took the help on offer.

XavierOnnasis read a different book than I. I read a book authored by a woman that lived the destruction of the individual under Socialistic communism. Any Rand was an extraordinarily empathetic individual enlightened by living the horrors of communism. Atlas Shrugged is perfection in displaying how socialistic thoughts erode the great individual into submission. Ayn Rand was gifted in portraying an all too real story of what happens to humanity when they become weak. It is easy to blame others for each individuals own weaknesses. Those that don’t believe in only the strong survive and evolution are probably the same people that will be getting my firewood when the power goes out.
