No. But what you don't seem to understand is that not every bit of profit decided policy, and that the value of the votes being anti-abortion gives Republicans is far more valuable to them than any profit motive.

In fact, they're getting no political benefit from that profit motive as the people making money from abortions almost exclusively support Democrats. Republicans get TRILLIONS of dollars for their donors by getting elected, and THAT is far more their motive than any profits from abortion.

And at that time, the Supreme Court was motivated more by its legal theories than any 'profit motives', though the right has radicalized/corrupted the court ever since.

The Republicans pulled the ultimate heist.

The drug companies got what they wanted, a larger customer base.

The abortion providers don't even count in a profit comparison with the drug companies.

And why would you proclaim that people making money from abortion support Democrats?

The people that I know who employ illegals get elected as Republicans here in Illinois.

Yes, the Republicans get megabucks from the religious fanatics.

And they also get megabucks from the drug companies, because they KNOW that abortion will never be made illegal again, because, that would require a Constitutional Amendment.

Bush had the political power to initiate an Amendment.

Trump has the power to initiate an Amendment.

There is zero chance that an Amendment will ever be floated.

When Liberals stop buying into the "conservative" lies,

and tell the "conservatives" that abortion is legal because it generates profits for the drug companies,

only then,

maybe,

only maybe,

will the scam be exposed for what it is.

For a site that is supposed to be for Liberals,

the replies keep coming back looking like the same old "conservative" brainwash.

If people accept the profit motive for the legalization of abortion, then the Republicans have an enormous problem.

Do they tell the drug companies "tough luck"? We are going to outlaw your product!

Do they tell the religious right "tough luck"? We're going to continue to suck up to the drug companies.

And,

would anybody really expect the religious right to do without their birth control pills?

Plus, they simply make big noises about being anti-abortion, pass a minor regulation or two that are easily skirted, and rely on the fact that Roe vs Wade is established precedent and won't go away.

Thus, they get the anti-abortion votes and not much change; so profits aren't really impaired.

It's a sleight of hand trick.

I don't think profits really play into the issue - it's just about the votes to get power to pass their broader agenda.
