Seems we keep changing what the Founders set up so why not - the Electoral College?

Maybe make the election of the President here like all other elections, the majority (not the minority) wins.  Crazy talk.

Well , there was a considerable amount of intelligence in our forefathers thoughts because they realized that without the electoral college , the most populated areas of the nation along with their political beliefs would be wrongly imposed on the entire nation ! You must admit that over the years it's only become an issue very few times ! It's not crazy thought just wishful thinking !

Harry you are beating a dead horse, you and I know the system is not going to change in the near future.

One county is big, one is small.  The majority votes for Senator ___ (who wins).  Does that make it unfair to the smaller county?

Yes or no?

We now directly elect Senators, not what the Founders wanted, are we wrong?

It stops the people from getting who wanted in the highest office in the land.

And it's the only election in America like that.  Dirt doesn't get a vote, people do.

And then why doesn't the Dems change it?

They've had control in the WH for 16 out of the last 24 years...

And they've had both houses of Congress at times

Elitism.

Not just Elitism, Harry.

It also protects the direction that this nation is steered towards, and not by any one administration but by the deep state that has been corrupted by elitism and it is simply a mechanism that they can employ which ultimately keeps the direction of our nation in the hands of the few and out of the hands of "we the people".

It's out of the hands of We the People alright.  Just one tiny little problem, that's who the government is supposed to be for...

Last Friday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) rebuked some of her Republican colleagues for recommending the criminal probe of Steele. She accused them of trying to undermine the FBI and the investigation being conducted by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, and of attacking Steele as a way of “deflecting attention from collusion and obstruction of justice investigations.” And then she added, almost as an afterthought: “Not a single revelation in the Steele dossier has been refuted.” Ouch!

So you like it when foreigners meddle in our elections. Got it. So Russia doing it was really not a problem for you.

They like the electoral college because it gives undue influence to the right.

You make some good statements, and then you say something like this.  Do you know how difficult it is for a Republican to win in the electoral college?

The dems start with at leat a 104 - 0 headstart to 370.  So the dems have to get 266 and the reps 307.  That why Trump said the election is rigged, because it was almost impossible to overcome the dems advantage in the college.

Their advantage in the college is the same advantage they would have if you have a 1 man, 1 vote situation only worse.  Rep. would start with a 16.5million person deficate right out of the starting gates.  This does include illegal votes that are always leaning dems.

So either electoral college or 1 man, 1 vote, dems start out heavy favorites.  Reps have to have a perfect night to overcome the deficate.  Trump had a perfect night.

You mean as you do? LOL! Dude, don't be dumb. You fling mud then say "bye" like a child.

So you liberals think Steele is a hero for putting together a political hit piece on Trump? Is that what you really are saying? Add to that the hit piece was made up of fake information. LOL!

You are a dope. LOL!

If most people are Dems, why shouldn't the win?  Oh, right, because you aren't a Dem.
