I don't think he really cares.  It's not like any Trump expects to be received with adulation on Twitter.  Most social media sites like that are a breeding ground for attacks, the position taken or political slant of the person is irrelevant.

If the ad that I saw is the ad that was rejected...I understand why a lot of people are upset with the league.  The ad showed a color guard with the US Flag...at the bottom was how to make a donation to AMVETS (an organization that helps veterans)...at the top was #PleaseStand

The NFL said the ad was too political.  Most people would call bullshit on that.  Personally, I think someone at the NFL office blew it.  They have the right, as a private business, to reject ads....however this is the type of ad that would go a long way mending fences with fans.

The NFL is on a downward slide. Goodell is clueless and they just gave him a new contract. The owners are going to have to eat his contract in the end. Goodell is so dumb he suspended Brady for a deflated football in a game that was a blowout for the Pats. After the hype of the SB is over the NFL owners are going to look at the future of the league. Goodell and his contract should be at the top of their list.

Factually inaccurate, but I get the point.

Amazing. He actually wants to pursue his family's sales-and-marketing efforts....attempting to enhance the family's good name??

I'd like  to see proof he's got past experience polishing turds, first....'cause I don't think it can be done.

So donate to help the veterans.  That's a great cause.

The standing bullBad word word is still unnecessary.

You just don't get it.  The ad didn't DEMAND anyone stand.  It didn't threaten anyone who chooses not to stand.  It didn't even criticize those that choose not to stand.  All it said was Please Stand...which, by the way, is what the US Flag Code says should happen during the playing of our national anthem.  Now that section of the code carries no civil or criminal punishment for non-compliance.  The only "punishment" is the anger, ridicule and disdain that will be aimed at you by people who think you are being an unpatriotic ass for not standing...which is their constitutionally protected right.

The players in this "disagreement" aren't the only people with rights.  They had the right to do what they did.  They did not have the right to demand people feel a certain way about their choice, did not have the right to protest without being criticized and did not have the right to see counter-protest aimed at them. And the NFL has the right to refuse the ad...even if it is a stupid decision from a PR standpoint.  Even Goodell admits the league has a problem in this area...and he still passed on a chance to start mending fences.

The fans, who've criticized what's developed, can go screw themselves.

The NFL has no-good-reason to apologize to anyone, for anything. They know, fully-well, what's going-on....'cause they (actually) work, directly, with the people who are continually being jerked-around by those "fans".

We won the 2nd WW & Joe McCarthy's long-been-dead.

It's probably time we grow-the-Hell up....and, relegate all the phony-posturing to the same trash-can, we use, to dispose any-and-all "absolutes" (we pursue) that waste so much valuable time.

"The text of 36 U.S.C. § 301 is suggestive and not regulatory in nature. Failure to follow the suggestions is not a violation of law. This behavioral requirement for the national anthem is subject to the same First Amendment controversies that surround the Pledge of Allegiance. For example, Jehovah's Witnesses do not sing the national anthem, though they are taught that standing is an "ethical decision" that individual believers must make based on their "conscience."
