"With news from the special counsel's probe into Russian interference in the presidential election still swirling in Washington, President Trump* is leaving Friday on his longest foreign trip to date.

The Asian odyssey will take him to five countries and two international summits. Trade issues and North Korea's nuclear threat are likely to dominate the discussions.

While Trump will join the 10-nation ASEAN summit, he is skipping a broader East Asia Summit that follows. Some observers say that's a missed opportunity for Trump to demonstrate U.S. commitment to the region. But White House aides defended the decision, noting the trip is already the longest by a U.S. leader since the infamous "Bushu-suru" trip by former President George H.W. Bush in 1992.

"The president has to come back to work," said one senior administration official. "We can't have him away from Washington forever."** nail-biting.gif

** He's quite-capable of fucking-up, badly-enough, at ONE Summit.

How is Trump going to Asia my worst nightmare?  Reality is a dream come true, existing is adapting to things never the same again.

you are daydreaming again and projecting your wishes were all everyone needs to talk about in open forums of defining maybe into stages of categorical denying of self evident things within the global population of one species denying how life actually functions.

It doesn't look like Daddy's "bait" is working, all-that-well, in Japan.

"President Donald Trump* is headed to Asia. His political troubles are coming along for the ride.

Trump leaves Friday on his most crucial foreign trip yet, to confront rising fears of a US war with North Korea, an increasingly bullish China and perceptions that U.S. power has ebbed in the region since he took office.

On the eve of his departure, the pressures now bearing down on Trump's inner circle intensified, when it emerged that Mueller has now begun asking about his son in law Jared Kushner's role in the firing of former FBI chief James Comey -- one possible avenue of an obstruction of justice investigation.

The controversy and chaos that has rocked Trump's Washington is being closely watched around the world and could influence not just how the President is perceived by foreigners, but could affect his leverage in summit talks.

If there are more indictments or breaks in the Mueller inquiry in the 12 days he is away, they will be sure to overshadow the critical goals of his trip, and paint a picture of a beleaguered President shadowed by scandal.

Given boiling tensions with North Korea -- and genuine fears that the US is preparing for war in Asia -- the trip would be a challenge even a president with soaring approval ratings and a wealth of experience."
