Arkansas Reduces Food Stamp Useage

Recommended Posts

Pass a work requirement, and people quit requesting benefits.

Imagine that. They don't want to DO anything for their handout. I guess they weren't so hungry after all.

Food stamp enrollment dropped by 25,000 people in Arkansas in 2016, after the state reinstated work requirements limited individuals to three months of benefits unless they found or trained for a job, Arkansas Online reports.

Arkansas stopped granting waivers to work requirements January 1, 2016, and by April, 9,000 people were off of food stamps, also called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Another 15,000 more lost their benefits between April and November, a spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Human Services told Arkansas Online.

well if you have a work requirment. How do you get to work if you don't have money?

How do you get to the store to get your free food?

Oh yea, you think liberals aren't capable of getting an I.D. to vote either.

It's amazing how pathetic you believe your fellow liberals to be.

Link? Oh wait, it's Dontknow making up facts again.

Pathetic liar.

Well lets take your facts, how many people lost benefits without finding a job, going to school, etc.?

............school or participating in job-training or volunteer programs.

By April 1, the Arkansas Department of Human Services had shut off the benefits to about 9,000 people. Between April and November, another roughly 15,000 people lost the benefits or became ineligible for them by failing to provide proof that they were meeting the new requirements or were exempt from them, a department spokesman said.

OK, looks like 24,000 got cut off the food.

Loss of food stamps in the market place = local economies take a serious hit and more jobs are lost.

Typical conservative economics = dumb as hell = fewer tax dollars come back to the communities.

Conservatives believe the government at all levels should own our tax dollars = funneling our tax dollars into

wealthy corporate bank accounts = corporate welfare that produces kick backs into campaign cookie jars.

Are you serious?

So we should keep people poor because the lack of food stamps will hurt local economies?

That's like saying why cure cancer?

It might lay off some doctors

^^ These idiots actually BELIEVE this shit. Merrill still doesn't know what in order to give "benefits" to one person (they don't even have to be citizens), the money has to be taken from another.

And then of course there is the obligatory bullshit about "funneling tax dollars into wealthy corporate bank accounts".

The truth Merrill, is that these people were getting hand outs and are simply too lazy to want to perform even the smallest of tasks as a requirement.

Well lets take your facts, how many people lost benefits without finding a job, going to school, etc.?

How is this a failure of Capitalism? I'm beginning to wonder if you even understand what Capitalism IS.

Hint: Government handouts is not Capitalism.

All these people have to do is show they are looking for work. They won't even do that.

They're just lazy liberals sitting on their couch, with their hand out wanting free food.
