Pay to Rise for Millions as 19 States Increase Minimum Wage

It is great to learn that all of those states are cognizant in that their workers deserve better wages. When employers provide better wages to their employees their employees will in turn provide better work and service to them which translates into the employer or business making more money! But when wages remain stagnant then perhaps so does the work the employee does. And if employers think that getting rid of them is the answer they are dead wrong! They would have to pay for re-advertising the jobs, rehiring, retraining, paying for the new employee's insurance, etc. and that would be a greater cost to the employer or business.

And no, automating the job is not the miraculous panacea either. When the machine breaks down, as it inevitably will, it will cost the business even more money to get someone to come repair it or to have to wait for parts that may or may not be available in order to replace the old or worn out ones. Therefore, retaining good employees and paying them a decent wage, that even Trump feels employees deserve as they can't make it on current minimum wage, is the way to go. He now needs to drill that thought to employers across the country in order to make them realize the value a well-paid employee is to their company which will in turn translate into the company making even more money in the long run!

Employees in states that are not currently offering an increase in the minimum wage need to immediately contact their state legislators and tell them that it is high time to do so, citing the other 19 states that have done so. If they are hesitant, what's their excuse? YOU are their boss, not the other way around, never forget that!

"It will be a happy New Year indeed for millions of the lowest-paid U.S. workers. Nineteen states, including New York and California, will ring in the year with an increase in the minimum wage."

"Massachusetts and Washington state will have the highest new minimum wages in the country, at $11 per hour."

one thing of good note is that underpaid workers actually require more government services which taxpayers must provide. Sure the debate regarding minimum wage in a free market has always led to much conjecture from any side, left or right. And sure, it is true, the minimum wage in real wage is much much lower than it was fifty years ago when the state of the economy overall was better. the question is, should you raise the minimum in an artificial way, and what is the truth regarding productivity gains and wage growth.

If it is more productive to ship jobs overseas than it follows that service jobs that stay should hopefully follow wage boosts. of course the counter argument is merit, because it is easy to get a job at McDonald's and it takes a low level of skill, and aren't we then giving jobs teenagers should do to older folks who should have learned how to write code or something more productive but were to lazy to find their own resource to figure out, or maybe they were just not suited for anything else but low skill work so should tax payers then be forced to bail them out with an artificial minimum wage, or should taxpayers pay for the healthcare they don't get because McDonald's does not!!! Should we get loose of that old medicare, and let the seniors die, or maybe that would promote inherently safer lifestyles, you know, fuck you if you smoke, and fuck you if you don't stand against air and water pollution, it's your own damn fault, offer them instead opiates, so they can fuck off with much much less pain under the freeway viaduct in an old van, let em all grow their own produce,

or collect food from what's left in the dumpsters around town, but only between the hours of 12 AM and three. Spray the area once in a while while we're at it to keep down the mosquito population, just in case of the Zika.

And yes,, why the fuck doesn't McDonald's do something about all the crappy food they sell to children? But isn't it the parents fault, I mean, if you are a good parent you limit the access of your kids to the eating of such crap first and foremost.

Which comes first the chicken or the chicken nuggets, or the idea that it is better to fry them up in a lesser harmful transfat and still promote a super size sugar water with flavor, or a diet fake sugar kind?

But you say, hey, I only make beds in a fancy hotel, bending down day after day, making beds, hoping to keep the bed bugs at bay.

Then, we all praise the dude who comes up with Uber, he is such a perfect billionaire of a saint that allows me more freedom to drive someone here or there all on my own time whenever I choose to drive.

It's all good, or a substitute for commerce we all seem to need. Yet, still a people got to live and learn and get along to stay off the welfare.

Peace!
