Where do Democrats go now?

Recommended Posts

Will the party double down on the failed centrism or embrace the citizens and their interests?

I fear the former but will hope for the latter.

We need a party that represents the working class and our ongoing issues of wage inequality, affordable healthcare, affordable higher education as well as putting an end to big money in politics.

The candidate(s) that represents the working class will have my vote as well as my political donations.

Agree, although middle class issues matter too

I'm more curious about how trump and his Congress are going to get along.

Just fine, from the look of things now.

a ton of democrats may think about the Green Party if the people want representation....

if people want to avoid the hassles of being purged from the voting rolls think registering republican and

voting against the anti american libertarian fascists that control the GOP.

This is a false dichotomy.

First "centrism" based on liberalism between authoritarian populist movements on both the light and left is hardly a failure. Indeed it remains the great hope for humanity.

Two, liberal centrism already embraces the interests of citizens.

The Trump presidency is already shaping up to be a disaster, even before it starts.

He's assembling the most venal, corrupt, and self-serving individuals ever to form an administration. Not surprising, but what gall from a guy who claimed (disingenuously) that he was going to drain the swamp.

The center must hold. We must stop what we must. And be there to fix the wreckage when its over.

I'm not against the Green Party, but they have no power in American politics.

The centrism of Bill Clinton was instituted in order to defeat liberalism within the Democratic Party. Hillary ran as a centrist and failed. Obama...in my opinion is just another Republican.

Wrong. The centrism of Bill Clinton was a political strategy for the reemergence of the Democratic party as the majority party after devastating presidential losses by Humphrey, McGovern, Carter, Mondale, and Dukakis.

Clinton ended the Reagan/Nixon era, and thank god for it.

And if you're not against the Green Party, then you're cracked in the head.

I need political candidates that represent me (and those important to me).

The rich need no help; they will thrive regardless. We're too close to oligarchy to continue the status quo much longer.

And if you're not against the Green Party, then you're cracked in the head.

I'm not against the Green Party. I'm not against any party. I'm against individual candidates only.

Google "DLC." You don't seem to know what this issue is about. Clinton started the DLC to oppose mainstream Democrats.

Liberals are living in a fantasy of their own making... They BELIEVE that people support their divisive and dishonest Liberalism, that is based on Socialism, and supported by CORRUPT Billionaires that are BUYING influence, in order to further THEIR OWN ends...

The TRUTH is, that MANY Democrats still believed (until recently) that the Democratic party is a party was looking out for them (the little guys), and the Working Man... but the Democrats had moved on from THAT 20 years ago... when Bill Clinton signed NAFTA, he threw the Blue collar middle class under the BUS... and the Democrat elites took over the Party... and they just provided LIP SERVICE to keep those voters in line.

THAT all Changed this election... People REALIZED that the Democrats were just LYING to them... and they saw someone who REALLY had their best interests at heart, in the person of Donald Trump... and the election told the tale...

ALSO, this is just the beginning... Trump WILL succeed, and will bring MORE middle class voters to the Conservative side... POPULISM? Maybe, but WHAT is WRONG with POPULISM?

IT IS the wave of the future !!

considering the tea party took over town, county, state governments, to kick out rhino and libs,,,, the democrats are very thin,, yall stupidly let pelosi and the old people keep their power so ,, theres not alot of hope moving forward,,,

and the 2020 election will see the repub house still in power so they can gerrymander more to keep them in power lol so it sucks to be a lib moving forward,, the dems are not dead but they have a hard row to hoe,, because now cheating is being watched out for and trump will do a law about voter ID.

so it doesnt look good for the libs

there will be no turnover in the house and senate in 2018

Wrong. Clinton was instrumental in the DNC to help elect mainstream Democrats. Which was a very successful effort.

I don't need a Goggle search to know the history of my party.

Good. You admit you have no idea that Clinton started the DLC.
