Trump IMPEACHMENT Watch

Recommended Posts

December 30, 2016

Although President Obamas sanctions against Russia for interfering with the U.S. presidential election came late, his action on Thursday reflected a bipartisan consensus that penalties must be imposed for Moscow’s audacious hacking and meddling.

But one prominent voice in the United States reacted differently. President-elect Donald Trump said “it’s time for our country to move on to bigger and better things.” Earlier in the week, he asserted that the “whole age of computer has made it where nobody knows exactly what is going on.”

No, Mr. Trump, it is not time to move on. U.S. intelligence agencies are in agreement about “what is going on”: a brazen and unprecedented attempt by a hostile power to covertly sway the outcome of a U.S. presidential election through the theft and release of material damaging to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The president-elect’s dismissive response only deepens unanswered questions about his ties to Russia in the past and his plans for cooperation with Vladimir Putin.

For his part, Mr. Putin seems to be eagerly anticipating the Trump presidency. On Friday, he promised to withhold retaliatory sanctions, clearly hoping the new Trump administration will nullify Mr. Obama’s acts. Then Mr. Trump cheered on Twitter: “Great move on delay (by V. Putin) — I always knew he was very smart!”

For any American leader, an attempt to subvert U.S. democracy ought to be unforgivable — even if he is the intended beneficiary. Some years ago, then-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned of a “cyber-Pearl Harbor,” and the fear at the time was of a cyberattack collapsing electric grids or crashing financial markets. Now we have a real cyber-Pearl Harbor, though not one that was anticipated. Mr. Obama has pledged a thorough investigation and disclosure; the information released on Thursday does not go far enough. Congress should not shrink from establishing a select committee for a full-scale probe.

Why is Mr. Trump so dismissive of Russias dangerous behavior? Some say it is his lack of experience in foreign policy, or an oft-stated admiration for strongmen, or naivete about Russian intentions. But darker suspicions persist. Mr. Trump has steadfastly refused to be transparent about his multibillion-dollar business empire. Are there loans or deals with Russian businesses or the state, that were concealed during the campaign? Are there hidden communications with Mr. Putin or his representatives? We would be thrilled to see all the doubts dispelled, but Mr. Trump’s odd behavior, in the face of a clear threat from Russia, matched by Mr. Putins evident enthusiasm for the president-elect, cannot be easily explained."

......Pretty-much the description of the "conservative"-lifestyle; i.e. the less you know....the less responsibility you have....yet, you STILL have the ability to bitch & complain about those things you ignored.....WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN!!!!!

When it comes to laziness....NO ONE could possibly be as creative as your average-"conservative".

THE Clock hasn't started, yet, but.....I guess we're gonna find-OUT what that loudmouthed-klown (actually) KNOWS about politics.

Evil clowns are now roaming the streets along with the drug gangs and some new mad max type vehicles. Debtor prisons, mandatory medical experimentation vaccines, out of your own area an shooting at the Christians from other areas of the world and then bringing in hostile refuge anti Christian bigots. Only a few days left but you have to try your best to get US into a nuclear war without any bomb shelters and many of the communistic republicans are with you. Republicans were communist clear back in the 1850s when they formed and accepted the Marxist who were forced to flee the failed European communist groupie group revolution in Europe.

Get with Trump or leave the republicans and join an actual communist party so you dont have to be such a gutless piece of slop jaw CBS crap.

"Rebuffing efforts by President-elect Donald J. Trump to cast doubt on Russian interference in the presidential election, top intelligence officials and senators from both parties on Thursday issued a forceful affirmation of the findings. They took relentless aim at Mr. Trumps public skepticism and suggested he had negatively affected morale in the intelligence community.

“There’s a difference between skepticism and disparagement,” James R. Clapper Jr., the director of national intelligence, said at the hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Mr. Clapper added that “our assessment now is even more resolute that the Russians carried out the attack on the election. President Obama received a classified briefing on the intelligence community’s findings today, followed by one for Mr. Trump on Friday. An unclassified report will be released to the public next week.

The hacking was only one part of the Russian endeavor, which also included the dissemination of “classical propaganda, disinformation, fake news,” Mr. Clapper said.

The gathering was extraordinary as much for its context as its content — a public, bipartisan display of support for the intelligence community that seemed aimed, at times, at an audience of one."

"President-elect Donald Trump intends to name his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as a senior adviser to his White House — a move that would put to the test a 1967 anti-nepotism law and provide a Trump White House already rife with ethical questions a bona fide legal showdown.

In fact, this amounts to Trump's "first attempt to ignore the law," according to Washington University government ethics expert Kathleen Clark. And she says it has huge implications, not just for Kushner, but for the rest of his presidency."

He's gonna be impeached anyway.

Before even taking office, Donald Trump is facing charges of bribery, corruption, nepotism, discrimination, fraud, inciting violence, and more than a dozen instances of sexual assault.

Just in the last few days, Donald Trump has:

  • Tried to get top-secret security clearances for his kids.
  • Paid $25 million to cover up fraud in “Trump University.”
  • AND used the Presidency to funnel money into his own companies.

Trump’s corruption threatens the foundations of our democracy. It’s up to us to remove him from office -- before he starts auctioning Oval Office meetings to the highest bidder.

That's their boy and since you posted that the list gets longer

I'm pleased with Sessions interview. At least he recognizes Row Vs Wade and Same Sex Marriage as law of the land.

And Trump says he is smart and has a good brain..We shall see on both accounts.

It really doesn't matter what Sessions says, they have the numbers, so in reality it was a waste of air space IMHO

Impeaching Trump would leave Pence in charge. That alone will be a mixed bag but there are things to look forward to.

He's strong on lowering taxes and better education. He's butted heads on same sex marriage. Rather colorful political career.

....And, he's got the distinction o' being slapped-around, by Obama, in-front-of the entire Republican caucus......when they were PLANNING-ON ambushing him!!

October 30, 2016

"On Friday, FBI Director James Comey set off a political blast when he informed congressional leaders that the bureau had stumbled across emails that might be pertinent to its completed inquiry into Hillary Clinton's handling of emails when she was secretary of state. The Clinton campaign and others criticized Comey for intervening in a presidential campaign by breaking with Justice Department tradition and revealing information about an investigation—information that was vague and perhaps ultimately irrelevant—so close to Election Day.

On Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid upped the ante. He sent Comey a fiery letter saying the FBI chief may have broken the law and pointed to a potentially greater controversy: "In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government…The public has a right to know this information."

December 14, 2016

"With the Washington Post's bombshell report that the CIA has assessed that the Russian hacking of Democratic targets was done as part of a Kremlin operation to help Donald Trump win the election, here's an intriguing question: Has Russian intelligence spied on the president-elect and, if so, what private information has it collected on him? A counterintelligence veteran of a Western spy service in October told Mother Jones that he had uncovered information—and had sent it to the FBI—indicating Russian intelligence had mounted a yearslong operation to cultivate or co-opt Trump and that this project included surveillance that gathered compromising material on the celebrity mogul. Yet there have been no indications from the FBI whether it has investigated this lead. Still, several intelligence professionals say Trump would have indeed been a top priority for Russian intelligence surveillance—especially when he was in Moscow in November 2013 for the Miss Universe pageant, which he owned at the time.

To present the contest in the Russian capital, Trump, who had long tried to do real estate deals in Russia, had teamed up with Aras Agalarov, a billionaire oligarch close to Vladimir Putin (whose son is a popular pop singer). The glitzy event, which included a swanky after-party, drew various Russian notables, including a member of Putin's inner circle and an alleged Russian mobster. Trump later boasted that he had mingled with "almost all of the oligarchs." Trump had hoped that Putin would attend the pageant—tweeting months earlier, "if so, will he become my new best friend?"—but the Russian leader was a no-show."

January 10, 2017

"It was only a couple of questions in the middle of a hearing, but the queries posed to FBI Director James Comey by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) during a Senate Intelligence Committee gathering on Tuesday afternoon had potentially explosive implications, because they suggested that Wyden believes the FBI has been sitting on information regarding ties between Donald Trump's inner circle and Russia.

The hearing was focused on the intelligence community's recently released report concluding that Vladimir Putin's regime had mounted an extensive secret operation to influence the US election in order to help Trump. At the start of the hearing, outgoing Director of National Intelligence James Clapper emphasized that the report did not assess whether the Russian meddling had affected the outcome of the election. This was an indirect rebuke to Trump and his partisans, who have repeatedly said the report concluded the Russian intervention did not affect the results. Comey also noted that Russian hackers had targeted Republican targets but that the FBI had not found evidence that Moscow had penetrated the Trump campaign or current accounts of the Republican National Committee."

"The two-page summary, first reported by CNN, was presented as an appendix to the intelligence agencies’ report on the Russian hacking of the election, the officials said. The material was not corroborated, and The New York Times has not been able to confirm the claims. But intelligence agencies considered it so potentially explosive that they decided Mr. Obama, Mr. Trump and congressional leaders needed to be told about it and that the agencies were actively investigating it.

Intelligence officials were concerned that the information would leak before they informed Mr. Trump of its existence, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the summary is classified and talking about it would be a felony.

The decision of top intelligence officials to give the president, the president-elect and the so-called Gang of Eight — Republican and Democratic leaders of Congress and the intelligence committees — what they know to be unverified, defamatory material was extremely unusual.

The memos suggest that for many years, the government of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia has looked for ways to influence Mr. Trump, who has traveled repeatedly to Moscow to investigate real estate deals or to oversee the Miss Universe competition, which he owned for several years. Mr. Trump never completed any major deals in Russia, though he discussed them for years."

"U.S. intelligence agencies warned Donald Trump about claims Russian operatives held potential blackmail information against him involving alleged “perverted sexual acts” during stays in Moscow and St. Petersburg, according to reports.

A two-page summary of the unsubstantiated allegations was presented to Trump and President Obama last week in meetings with the CIA, FBI, National Security Agency and director of national intelligence, CNN reported Tuesday.

It said the incident was captured on surveillance cameras."
