Guns, and the Constitution, Win Big on Election Day

Most anti-gun candidate in modern history loses, NRA spending pays off

The 2016 election delivered a number of wins for gun rights activists across the country.

Though Donald J. Trump’s presidential victory represents the greatest opportunity for policy changes that have widespread impact, there were many unexpected wins at the state and local levels. The National Rifle Association won in nearly every race where it invested money.

The NRA spent more than $30.3 million in the presidential race, up from just over $12 million in 2012. $19.7 million of that went to opposing Hitlery Rotten Clinton and $10.6 million went to supporting Donald Trump, according to an analysis of Federal Election Commission documents by the Center for Responsive Politics. The group invested another $20 million in six Senate races and won five of them.

Hitlery Rotten Clinton’s defeat comes after she staked out the most aggressive gun control positions for a major party candidate in modern memory...

the election is about being honest about what self evident is in plain sight, not guns and constitution. Honesty is always the best policy because the focal point is knowing why self containment to now makes all simultaneously existing results created as equally here spaced apart whether it be inorganic or organic in nature.

Hillary was not anti-gun. She just didn't want criminals and the mentally defective like you have guns.

Looks like the Pros and Libs will need to join the arms race you gun fondlers started. The difference is, we are smarter and in better shape. You will lose.

You gun nuts have been given a reprieve, nothing more.

Since Trump will be replacing Scalia's seat with a pro gun Justice, and possibly get to replace one of the elderly left wingers with one, I'd say this is a but more than a reprieve. The actions of the Attourney General in Mass will bring assault weapon bans before a pro gun Trump court; they will be struck down. No more banning semi-automatic rifles.

So don't delude yourself, the results of this election drove the final nail into the coffin of gun control.

The Soviet Province of Californacatestan also has a "Shall Issue" Case RE: LTC's that is on the way to the Supreme Court.

Lower Court sided with the San Diego County Sheriff that LTC's (License to Carry, for you Liberal Public School drop-outs) were, contrary to the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, a "May Issue", at their discretion.

It was overturned by a 9th Circus Court of Appeals Three-judge panel as Un-Constitutional, but then later Affirmed by an en banc ruling from the full Communist 9th Circus Court, after it was Illegally lobbied by Commie Harris, then AG of the Soviet Province.

Good Times.

Is that the way you saw it dipshit?

Actually it was a very good day for gun control advocates.

On gun control measures in the election, approving universal background checks for private firearms sales in Nevada while gun control supporters won victories in two other states.

Washington state voters easily approved a measure giving judges the power to keep dangerous individuals, such as accused domestic abusers, from possessing guns.

In California, residents backed a referendum that bans large-capacity ammunition magazines and requires some people to undergo background checks in order to buy ammunition.

On a state level. Federal gun control is screwed. Those state level wins can be knocked down by a pro gun court.

Actually they won't. Those laws are based upon Scalia's opinion in the Heller case.

No new Justice would dare over rule a Scalia opinion.

In case you aren't familiar with it, allow me to educate you.

On pp. 54 and 55, the majority opinion, written by conservative bastion Justice Antonin Scalia, states: “Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited…”. It is “…not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.”

Nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.”

“We also recognize another important limitation on the right to keep and carry arms.Miller (an earlier case) said, as we have explained, that the sorts of weapons protected were those “in common use at the time”. We think that limitation is fairly supported by the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of ‘dangerous and unusual weapons.’ ”

The court even recognizes a long-standing judicial precedent “…to consider… prohibitions on carrying concealed weapons.”

Dream on, french-fry.

There is a plethora of cases headed for the Supreme Court.

That is why the Democrat National Socialists murdered Justice Antonin Scalia.

Justice Clarence Thomas most-likely has the Opinions already written.

Sucks to be all y'all, Comrade.

Well that's to bad numb nuts.

Right now there are only 8 justices on the bench

Any newbies won't be over ruling any Scalia opinions

You're a deluded troll about to be disappointed by real life decisions made by grown ups.

You should probably prepare yourself for more gun control measures coming in the future.

More states and localities will now be emboldened by the new regulations just past.

The first thing Trump will do is fill Scalia's seat with a pro gun Justice.

The state level gun control you are talking about will only happen in the few states that are already hostile towards the second amendment. States like my Missouri will ignore gun control's wants.

Once Scalia's seat is filled, the court will be ruling in favor of gun rights on any cases. Scalia's seat will be filled by the time the court issues any other rulings. How do you like them apples? Is gun rights folks have safes full of AR-15s, and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.
