Redoing NAFTA was the only thing on which I agreed with tRump.

Therefore, I suspect that he will do absolutely nothing about it.

Not going to happen. Will require agreements with China and Russia.

Did I mention it's not going to happen?

Not much of what trump wanted to do will be done. Besides the tax cut for himself.

It's already happening. Canada and Mexico have already said they will renegotiate NAFTA with Trump, and illegal aliens are already self deporting. And he hasn't even taken power yet.

Neither Russia nor China is a signatory of NAFTA. Why would they need to buy in?

They don't have to be. Where do you think those multi national corporations moved those jobs to, and how many energy deals with Russia, China, Europe, have been made in the last 20 years involving oil leases in the middle east, the Artic, the Baltics, the North Atlantic, and Africa?

China and Russia will be part of any renegotiations involving NAFTA, without being signatories.

And any changes involving the US would require an act of Congress anyway. Trump can't renegotiate anything on his own, and those multi national corporations aren't bringing those jobs back.

The rust belt didn't get rusty because of NAFTA. It got rusty because of trade deals Reagan made with China on steel imports, and Japanese auto makers in the 80's, while getting anti union legislation passed in Congress at the sametime.

Guess who a major player was in getting that legislation passed?

That would be one John Kasich. Current governor of Ohio.

Conservatives are so fucking stupid they all need to be beat to death with a yard rake.

I'm confused, when did Republicans become anti-free trade and protectionist?

The flip-flop of the century.

About the same time when Democrats betrayed the blue collar worker in favor of Wall Street and put the most corrupt candidate in recent memory up for Presidency.

A good small dose of Nationalism is almost always a good thing.
