Drunk Driver Hits Helicopter

Recommended Posts

McKinley, New Mexico – In an odd turn of events, a drunk driver hit a helicopter with his car.

Police and firefighters responded to the rollover of a vehicle at around 1:00 AM this morning on Highway 566 in New Mexico. A helicopter containing a rescue crew landed and the passengers exited to assist with the rollover. While emergency personnel were assisting with the initial rollover, a drunk driver drove through the police barricades and drive right into the firetruck on scene, as well as the rescue helicopter. The collision caused the helicopter to flip over. Fortunately, no one was inside of it and the rotors were not spinning.

No one was injured in the collision. The firetruck, the drunk drivers car, and the helicopter were all inoperable. The drunk driver was identified as 26-year-old Glenn Livingston of Gallup. Livingston was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence, resisting arrest, evading and or obstructing an officer, and several other charges. Something tells us that he’s going to have a heck of a bill to pay after destroying a helicopter, fire truck and fighting police. Hopefully, Livingston’s irresponsibility did not cause the person in the initial rollover to miss a crucial helicopter ride to the hospital or there might be some more charges coming up for him.
