Rayosun
What is the average monthly electric bill for the white house? So glad that you asked that, JimSouth. If they still had the solar panels that Democratic President Jimmy Carter had installed on it, it would be virtually ZERO, (as it is at MY house!) but butthead Ronnie Reagan had them REMOVED. So the White House electric bill may be GINORMOUS, unless a wise Democratic president has hopefully CORRECTED Reagan's idiocy !

I am dead serious, he said, admittedly while laughing. I fire the person that starts to purchase fluorescent light bulbs unless that is the only light bulb for a specific reasons and I want to be CCed on what that reason is. He further added If youre doing anything in this company because of global warming, youre firedGlobal warming is a pile of crapa load of socialist, communist crap. Probably require a Hell of a lot of solar panels to produce $1,000,000 in electricity a month.
jimsouth
Today, the U.S. gets a mere 7 percent of its energy from renewables, the bulk of that from the massive hydroelectric dams constructed in the middle of the 20th century. Solar thermal and photovoltaic technology combined provide less than 0.1 percent.

They require constant maintainance, and the cost of just replacing a rebuild kit in just one pole lamp is no longer worth the cost. The biggest problem I run into are the driver capacity of the newer LED's used to replace them. Many commercial and industrial sites use contactors, and are fed with 480V 3 phase. The drivers in the replacement LED's only have up to 340V capacity, unless you are willing to pay much higher prices which is a hard sell considering the number of lights at just one sight. So you have to do rewiring at the panels and light timers to change the feeders to 277V, as a trade off to win the bids on the jobs. I just eliminate the contactors, and use the enclosures as junction boxes, and replace the old timers with multipole digital programmers. The customers love it. Lower energy bills, less lighting maintainance, no need to worry about adjusting off on times.
