FYI, the word shanda (written as שאַנד = shand, but pronounced either shand or shandeh) is a Yiddish word that means a shame or a disgrace. It comes from the German word "schande", pronounced shandeh, with the same meaning: shame, disgrace, dishonor, ignominy, infamy, opprobrium. Sounds about right for Ivanka. Thanks, I was unfamiliar with the term shanda. It adds an interesting context to that twitter post.

After the separatists lost the 1995 referendum on Quebec secession, the party leader Jacques Parizeau blamed the loss on "money and ethnic votes".
